[] I have no idea who you're using, so I didn't put their names in the title, obviously. D: I'm putting the setting in the free lands... []  How strange of her to wander out on her own. Curling her tail between her legs, she trotted towards the river, the only place she remembered of the free lands. Her pack was pretty tightly knit, but she needed a break, to be honest. Sighing, she continued her quick pace to the edge of the river, pushing past the foliage and underbrush. Glancing around silently, she frowned, and slowly stepped towards the sandy shore.
Leaning down, she began to lap at the cool water, relaxing her throat so it might be easier to, attempt to, speak. Finally, she calmed, and sat herself down, head still low...she was an obvious omega, jumping and turning to every tiny noise that came behind her, to the side...even a little, silent, breathy yip at a fish hurling itself out of the cold river water, and plunking down into it...as if mocking her to go and catch her lunch...dinner, thing.

((I only have one wolf and he's got no home. XD Haha. So no worries.)) White paws swished in the water as the large red and white wolf tried to get to shore. He'd been swimming for about an hour to get away from the wolves that had followed him. They'd given up when he'd swam into the middle of the river and let it drag him down stream. Now he felt safe and was attempting his best to learn how to swim for the first time in his life.
Muscles hurt incredibly when he finally managed to touch sand and Akamichi all but slumped onto the ground from exhaustion. It was about time he got to shore. Legs shook and soggy fur hung from his body, making white and red meld together and lose the look of a husky. His ribs heaved and the male laid down on the sand slowly, head on his paws silently. ninja

Her eyes caught sight of something moving in the river. That was one damn big fish. If it was even a fish. Ears perked up slightly, and she jumped, fur bristling when the wolf hauled himself out of the river. She fluttered a bit away, like a pup running from an overly sized bird or something. She nearly fell over, heart pounding...Nile really needed a back bone.
After she calmed herself down, which took all of three minutes, she slowly began to inch towards the fallen wolf.
Was it dead?
No way, it was breathing. She didn't know whether to be happy or sad about that. Moreso happy. She just hoped it didn't decide to eat her or something. Slowly..she got to his side, maw parting, as if to speak, but nothing but a light breath escaped over the male's head, lithe paw lifting to touch his neck gently. In her mind, of course, she was chanting are you all right? What happened? Hey!. No, only her mother could hear those thoughts.

Muscles tensed and Akamichi all but froze when something touched him. He was so tired that he hadn't noticed it coming up beside him, so they'd found him again had they? But why weren't they killing him?
His blue eye cracked and he almost died from relief. It was a little brown female that had poked him, most likely she wanted to see if he was alive or dead, not that he had a problem with that at all, it wasn't as if he were dead after all.
Paws slid gently through the sand and Aka sat up slowly, bones making a slight popping noise as he did so. It wasn't age that made his bones pop, but sheer overuse.
"Well hello there. Thanks for the wake up call." Akamichi said in his smooth voice.

She scrambled back slightly, and sat herself down instantly. It was the closest thing to submission out here in the freelands, since she knew ranks usually didn't matter--just egos, for the most part. She mustered up enough courage to smile his way, and nod. She wanted to speak so badly. Damnit. She wasn't really mute, just as a child she had never used her vocal cords...so they became, practically, useless.
She sniffed a bit, and parted her maw once more...then just nodded once more, "N..Nile," she managed to muster, having nothing else that she could say...since, well, she was still trying to find her voice. Damn I must look like an idiot. She sighed inwardly, ears folding back against her skull.

"Nile? I'm guessing that's your name?" Akamichi said after a moment, watching her slightly submissive stance and the look on her face. She seemed like she was struggling to say something, struggling to manage to say ANYTHING. So was she a mute then?
Watching her and wagging his tail at her gently, Aka inclined his head to her slowly, to show that he did have respect. "My name is Akamichi. It's a pleasure to meet you miss Nile."
