i'm looking for information about the true/mean nodes in a chart, though i haven't found much. all i can get is that it seems associated with karma and life purpose in both Vedic and traditional astrology. do any of you guys know of a site with good information on what exactly it deals with, and how it manifests in different signs?

http://www.astrologycom.com/nodes.html there's a pretty decent explanation of them.

I remember from a few sites I read long back, the HOUSE the node is in is more important than the sign because the sign will span over a good while.

i remember the bob marks page! he seems to have some kind of grudge against us Cancers, though. =/

searching for "north node" seems to yield a lot more results. i assume it's the same as the true node?

This is interesting - one of the sites mentioned past lives in relation to south node, but a book I read some of once said that past lives can also be explained in terms of north node.

I.e. the Taurus north node, according to Imaginary Quicksilver's link, means that a person has to learn to rely on others less, whereas this book said that a Taurus north node meant that in a past life, a person was in a co-dependent relationship, living through and helping and relying on another person (examples were as the assistant to a leader, a queen to a king) and that in this life, they needed to learn to be independent and live for themselves. Either interpretation yeilds roughly the same message.

I noticed that too! Maybe it's because he says he's a Capricorn (on the 12th house page) and that's the opposite of Cancer. People usually have had bad experiences with their opposites. :-/

I do belive the north node is the same as the true, but I could be wrong... confused

I've also heard that true node and north node are the same thing. It's also interesting you should say about people having trouble with their opposites - my north node is in Taurus, and my south node is in Scorpio, and Scorpio is the sign I have the most difficulty with.

My north node is in Pisces and my south node is in Virgo. I have a lot of Virgo friends.
The thing about nodes is that there's a certain amount of 'fatedness' to it. That's what I heard anyway from a synastry book.
