Hi, I've been looking for answers about this problem for a while now, but whenever I try to look through the Forecast & News Channel on my Wii, this message shows:

Error code: 107245
Cannot update latest weather information.
(Cannot update latest news information)

I'd appreciate any thoughts or solutions of why this is happening and how to fix it. heart

Okay, your having problems connecting to the internet with your Wii.
I'm also assuming that you have connected to the internet with your Wii before, right?

Umm.. try these steps, if it doesn't work, go onto the next one.

1) Continue to try getting into those channels. Try about 3 - 4 times. If it still doesn't work then..

2) Go to your Wii settings (The bottom left button on the Wii Channels screen) and try reconnecting your internet. If you have difficulty getting through the "testing the connection..." screen, maybe your internet isn't doing so great. Try about 3 - 4 times. If it still doesn't work then..

3) Go to your internet router. Unplug, wait 10 seconds, and replug the power on it. Go try to test the internet by doing either step number 1 or 2. Again, try connecting about 3 - 4 times. If it still doesn't work then..

4) Running out of options here!! I don't know what else to tell you. If it's possible, try getting your Wii closer to your internet router. And lastly.. if you are unable to do that..

5) Play your video games and try to forget about the internet and it's persistent annoyingness xd

The internet connection is mighty fine actually, it's just those 2 channels have been popping up with that message. eek I'll try doing step 3 and 4 just to make sure though.
And probably step 5 if nothing else works xp

Try a Wii System Update, have you ever in the past gotten onto those two channels?

Well, I have been able to browse the Forecast channel until a few days ago, but not the News channel.

Ahh Okay. The news channel was actually released last saturday. If you have never updated your Wii, then you technically don't have this channel yet.

Hmm...I updated my Wii on the exact date the News Channel came out over here which was on Sunday, but that time the Forecast channel still had the message shown on it. gonk I've googled the error code issue, but there were no solutions for it.

OHHH BRAIN BLAST! Lol xd

Okay, I think I got the answer. But first I have to ask a question. Do you have Wii Connect 24 enabled?

Maybe this is why you can access the Wii Shop channel, but not the News nor weather channel. I think we established that it wasn't your internet connection.

The News and Weather channel require you to enable Wii Connect 24 AND be on Wii Connect 24 when you turn the Wii off.

When your Wii is off, what color is the light? If it is red, then Wii Connection 24 isn't enabled. If it is yellow, then it is enbaled.

To enable your Wii Connect 24 during standby mode, click on the icon on the bottom left of the screen in the Wii Channel's screen to configure your settings. Look for "WiiConnect24" and configure the settings so that its on during standby.

DID IT WORK?? I think I found out the solution blaugh

And just in case, I asked on the Nintendo Forums about your problem biggrin

Wow eek I checked if the standby mode was on and it was off xd Though the Wii Connect 24 is enabled. Everything seems to work fine now, thanks for everything! =3 I'll keep an eye on it if it does anything like that again. wink
