The young firekin princess had managed to make her way towards the borders of the desert -- that also join up with the Pridelands. Wounded, tired and exhausted from her overall journey, she limped her way in. Although she was of the blood, she was hoping that these generally nice lions would find the heart to let her in. She was seeking a refugee from the current situation with the Firekin. The lioness no longer wanted ties with it.

She padded lightly through some tall brush, unseen. Her blood red pelt stood out in the yellow-hued pride. She kept her head low, in shame. Although she defied the 'Firekin' way, she felt this was the right thing to do. She didn't want to get involved in fights. Sighing, Kiunguza flopped over onto a boulder nearby, to rest herself from her travels. The triple V scar on her hindleg still shrieked in pain.

Kijito was also near the border of the Pridelands and Firekin lands this day. Dispite not being the one taking over the role of leader, the older prince felt he should check the border's while his family was grieving. Padding lightly through the grasses, he blended in easily. Kijito frowned lightly as he spotted a red lioness perched on a rock, though he would not harm her. Not sure if she was friend or foe, he cautiously approached her.

Kiunguza jumped as the male approached her. Afraid, she dove behind the boulder, peeking out to watch him. Her ears were lowered, as she came out from behind it. She knew he was from the pride, and she was willing to confess. "I'm sorry, I really am!" She padded up closer to Kijito, a sad look in her eyes. "I simply wanted to get away from it all. I mean no harm." Her voice was choppy and raspy, after wandering for quite a while. She hadn't had water in days, nor real food.

Her tail lowered between her legs. "I didn't mean to trespass on your land, my greatest apologies. I'm a princess of the Firekin, and well ... I no longer wish to live there. So, I wanted to seek refugee and peace within the Pridelands." She sighed, looking down.

Kijito listened to her words carefully, wondering how his father would have handled the situation. Blinking, Kijito realized she had probably not eaten or drank anything for a while. Deciding to trust her for now, Kijito grinned at her. Jerking his head back the way he came, hoping to clue her in that he wanted her to follow him. He was planning on taking her to the watering hole nearby, which he had stored a recent kill at just the other day. Turning slightly, he looked at her before taking a step away and waiting.

Kiunguza's eyes lit up with a slight happiness as the male motioned her to follow him. Smiling, she slowly padded behind Kijito. She kept a close watch on where he was heading. She looked around the area, admiring its beauty. Grinning, she rolled her eyes. "And i've been living in the desert this whole time? ... ... I missed out on a lot! This place has a lot more of a comfortable feeling to it. A much better feeling than a scorching desert would give."

She padded slightly fast, keeping up with the lion. Now she walked up beside him.

Kijito grinned at her as he walked slowly through the grasses. Of course this place was beautiful, though it grew dull after awhile. Sometimes he just wished that someone new would show up that understood him.

Kiunguza grinned in return, following the male. A flash glimmered in her eyes, as an event clouded her mind. She closed her eyes, as her mind continued to lead her with the Pridelander male. Pictures flashed through her head, like a picture book, telling a story that came from the past. She walked silently, her eyes continued to be concealed shut.

A moment later, as she opened them, she was shocked. The male didn't have to say anything for now, nor would he ever. "Ah, so ... thats why you cannot speak, young Kijito. ... ... your mute. Your father, the late King of the Pridelands told me." Actually, she fibbed, he didn't tell her. Although, she saw a scene from when the cubs were younger, when his condition came up in conversation. A smile came across her maw.

"No need to worry. I have other ways of finding the truth, other than speech."

Kijito grinned and nodded lightly. Glad that someone was able to understand him without much struggle. However he was confused as to why the female had stated that his father had told her about him. To him that made no sense but he would accept it for the time being. Reaching the watering hole, Kijito moved towards the corpse of a young waterbuck. He had killed it eariler that day. Motioning towards it, he moved towards the water.

Kiunguza followed behind Kijito to the watering hole, where he had the waterbuck hidden. Smiling, the firekin lioness came closer, to grab some of it to eat. "Thank you. It ... means a lot to me. I've been treated unfairly over the many months. Its nice to have some hospitality for once in a while."

As she finished her quick meal, she came to the water for a quick drink. "It's nice to meet someone who is quiet for a change. I've encountered a lot of loud mouthed people in my lifetime." She sat silent, near the male. The adolescent looked up to him, since he was older. Although, they both had equal status, royal wise.

Kijito was silent, though he wished for some way to talk to this intriguing female. Sighing lightly, he idily flicked his tail about. His eyes on the water, though he occasionally glanced up at the red female. There was something about her that attracted him to her and for the life of him, he couldn't figure it out. Grinning at her, he dipped his right paw into the water, relishing in it's coolness.

Kiunguza lapped a few more sips of water before standing back up and heading over to the male. Yawning, she laid herself down beside Kijito. "You know, today has been the best day in a while i've had. I wanted to thank you for that. ... i'm just very tired, now."

She rested her head inbetween her paws, to rest for a little while. Her body ached with pain, from the journey to the Pridelands. Atleast it was nice to have a friend for once. A very nice friend, indeed.

Kijito grinned at the female once more. Watching as she laid down next to him. He'd stay by her side if she wanted to sleep, to offer some sort of protection. Not that many people would attack others in the pridelands.

Kiunguza happily sat beside Kijito. It was nice to have some company for once. In the Firekin lands, most of the members were solitary, and kept to themselves.

She found herself feeling drowsy by the watering hole. She was extremely tired from all the current events.

Kijito glanced at her, finding that he liked her company, dispite not being able to speak to her. Watching the water, Kijito began to notice that his new friend was growing tired. Climbing to his feet, he moved so that she would have room to lay down. He would watch her if she wanted to sleep.
