Ehehehe! I can explain!
My sister's wedding is coming up, and me being the 210-lb-ball-of-insecurity I am, am being thrown right back into the world of dieting.

What am I trying this time?

Leptopril.

Not my idea, trust me, but mum [aka the fat-nazi], insists.

Mph.

What do you guys think about the pill-poppin diets? I've done a million different kind. The strict no-carb. Drink a glass of milk and eat bananas for daaaays! Eight ounces of everything. The diet suppressing tea. The don't eat. The purge. I've done so much nonsense that I look back at and wonder what the hell, where'd that come from. These pills, head on, are scaring the crap out of me.

Help?

I think they're terrible.

I think most diets are terrible, the ones I respect most are weight-watchers and "the no-diet diet".

Depriving your body of carbs makes no sense to me. Depriving it of anything that it needs makes no sense to me.

Relying on a pill to lose weight makes no sense to me, it's messing with your body in an un-natural way. In all honesty, most diet pills don't really work... they have celebrity spokes-people who claim it worked but in reality they probably had surgery and a good personal trainer.

All these things modify your body, and then in the end once you stop using them or practicing them your body is messed up even more and has a harder time losing weight and keeping it off, especially on it's own.

Actors have to screw up their metabolism bulking up for one role then becoming almost just bone for another. It isn't healthy, but at least they're typically doing it for big paychecks...

Seriously losing weight is about making a lifestyle change, for good. It doesn't even have to hurt. I started drinking more water and I lost a pound in a couple days... It won't always be that fast, but if I keep up with drinking water I'll feel better and be healthier and probably lose more weight. I'm trying to cut out fast-food. I failed today because I was so stressed by work I just wanted a nice chick-fil-a sandwich... but at least I'm trying and hopefully someday fast food (especially greasy fast food) won't be a temptation for me. I've started practicing yoga from a book for plus-sized women called Mega Yoga, and it's not just to lose weight but for me to be more flexible and to feel better about myself and just general self-improvement. All of this health-kick is just about self-improvement, if I don't lose weight that's fine... but I likely will because it is healthier. I may not lose enough to where I'm not plus-sized, but I'm fine with that.

If you want to lose weight for your sisters wedding, just eat healthier. Cut out soda. Cut down on portions, cut out fast-food. Munch on stuff through the day... it actually works, but you also can't eat big meals with it and it's best to not snack on cookies but something like an apple or grapes or whatever it is healthy that you like.

But good-luck with whatever you try!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! eek eek eek eek
Why the dieting!?!?!?!?!?! DAMN YOU BALTHAZAR!!!!!!

honestly...me've said this before, but u look just dead shmexy just the way you are...atleast to me...^_^

Takeshi thinks ur mom needs to let U decide how u want to look on your own terms, becuase when others force one to change their weights and such it doesn't come out easy or healthily. If u want to lose weight that's ur decision, if u want to gain weight yet again ur decision, if u want to be the way you look right now, BINGO, ur decision.

Tell her NO.

If you ever diet, pills are NOT the way to do it.

I remember one add for a pill for weight loss. It said it helped, it wasn't a miracle-worker, but it would improve your weight with diet and excercise.

Side effects: oily discharges, inability to control bowel movements and oily discharge, nausea, diareha, and sexual side effects.

Apprently, this "helps" you lose weight by rapidly and violently ejecting everything you eat in the form of a pants-saturating grease slick.

And this is the stuff that DOESN'T claim to work wonders. o.o

Seriously, for the good of your body, don't take the pill. If your mom forces you to, as in, shoves it into your mouth, spit it out, or hide it under your tongue, or blow it out your nose. It's not worth it.

Diet pills never work, they usually make me feel sick.
If you want to take any pills take multi-vitamins.

@Pirate Ghosty:: Hm, weight watchers? Was that the one with the meetings? And that stuffers? Eeeeehhh... I know the pill thing is really stupid but .. eeeehhh.. I hate having to deal with her long speeches on why it's good for me, I'll feel better about myself, blah, blah, blah. The usual fat-nazi apporach. :3 Thanks for the luck, I need it. :33

@Chris:: Lmao! A-thank you. I know that it's my decision, but eggghhh... like I've said before, I'm not willing to deal half-a-year's worth of fighting about myself when I can just keep her happy by doing as she says.
[whoa that sounded much better in my head ><]

@Fuzzy:: Eh, too late? >< I dunno.. now I'm scared to read the label ... >> << ... I have no clue what this stupid pill does... -not willing to go up against mother, still scared as hell though-

@Sayuri':: I already take multi-vitamins and stuff. Hm, here goes: 3 Colon Cleansers, 3 Supreme-Green [to give me all the vitamins I miss out on from hating the green veggies xP], 1 Acidophilus, 1 Female Balance, 1 AdrenalBalance, and 1 Iron pill for my anemia. Daily regimen. [god it sucks. :3]

@Domovoy:: Thanks so much. x3

We can give you supporting information to explain why it's NOT for your own good. Point out all the problems with pills.

If logic doesn't work, then fight fire with fire. Tell your mom that if she's ashamed of her own daughter, then you won't go to the wedding, but you're not going to change your appearance to satisfy her standards and become "presentable".

I honestly really suggest you stand up to your mother about this one.

I hated weight watchers 'cause I was forced to go to the meetings by my mother, but the actual method for losing weight wasn't by really depriving your body of anything, which is why I reccomend it.

Diet pills are not the thing to do, just eating smaller portions and drinking more water will make you lose some weight. Adding in 30 minutes of excersize... You'll actually feel better, and better about yourself because it was you that did it, not some pill... if the pill even works for you the way it claims it will.

You won't necessarly gain more self-esteem by losing weight, and you might just feel worse by using the diet pills.

Well it's not like I don't excercise, instead of enrolling in a reg. phys. ed. class I took up the Aerobics/Dance class. So much more done in there than any of my other phys. ed. options. So that's at least seven hours of escercise a week. [whoa. lmao.] Eh, I'm just gonna start to chuck the pills instead of taking em. Much easier. [i hope.] x3

Any sort of crash diet/pill will be absolutely useless in the long run. The best thing to do (in my experience) is to exercise (which you said you're doing) and eat smaller, healthier portions. Like someone else said, cut out pop and fast food. You'll miss it at first, but eventually if you go to eat it all you'll taste is the grease. Drink lots of water, and be sure to get an adequate amount of sleep-both are important for metabolic purposes.

Even if you don't necessarily lose the weight in time (it takes a while to get the metabolism going), I can almost guarantee that you'll feel better, both physically and mentally, if you eat healthier and exercise. I did, at least.

Good luck!
