I loooove shooter games but they get kinda scary sometimes like when badguys come from around the corner or something out of nowhere and starts attacking you, I scream alot when i'm playing them...maybe it's because i'm a girly girl sweatdrop

They kinda bore me for the most part, I'm just not into the guns and shooting and such. There is one fps that I do enjoy occassionaly, and that'd be Perfect Dark for the N64. Other than that occassional play, blah.

Blegh.. I find them so hard to aim in.

I used to play them on the computer, but this was back when Doom 2 was popular. A long time ago...

thats why I hate then too I can't aim worht beans!

What do you guys think about that fact that people enjoy pretending to kill other people?
I know it's horrible but since I am so bad at amining I get excited when I actually shoot someone.

I'm always happy when I shoot someone because it means I'm getting better. It does sound crazy though. lol I'm great at fps games, but it took a while for me to get used to it. When I first started I couldn't aim worth crap. It's amazing what practice can do biggrin I have 3 favs.
1.) Halo1,2, and soon to be 3
2.) Gears Of War
3.) F.E.A.R. (360)

Deathwish
well i wasnt tryin to say its nothing but luck its just has alot of luck in it. and u cant say it doesnt. and yes u need skill to play rpgs its just there is enough luck in the games that it plays passed skills.

lets take WoW.
2 mages lets say.
frost mage vs fire mage for a duel a 60 frost mage will have a 50% chance to crit fire mages can built up there crit chance but its by 10's and only 3 crits allowed. with a 3 minute cooldown.
now the frost mage will win hands down. but oh wait the frost mage got unlucky the fire mage resisted most of the frost mages attacks.
fire mage crtis with pyro blast and does a chain of instacasts and crtis every time.( i have seen this luck happen many times on both sides.)
then lets give another one.
frost mage has 1 hit left on the fire mage, yet fire mage has 2 hit left.
fire mage resisted the attack. fire mage crits and kills the frost mage.

see thats the luck i dont like to play with.
as in fps its not all about aim shoot miss or hit.
its all about skill. ( some of them have luck due to gun spread)
u have to lisen for there team know where the shots are coming from.
movement to allow dodgeing and geting around ect.
aim and tactics.

see rpgs have tacitcs to as formovment very few alow good movment to get u ahead of the game.
u can make it so u crit more or have more life ect.
but again there is alot of luck in the games.
And there is were you and I differ...

I don't play wow, so a lot of what you just said went over my head.... I do play Disgaia though so some of it got through my tiny mind. xp

Yes I understand that you have that bit of chance to be hit hard or not at all. This is were Character equipment comes into play. A good example of this being the .hack games with their six elements.
fire-water earth-wood lightning-darkness
each haveing a chance of elemental critical on it's oposeing element. If you remember this before going into a feild, you can equip your character properly and go to a much higher levle aria than you could normaly. An example would be:

I can take my lvl 3 character to a lvl 5 wood feild if i am lucky.

But, If I were to equip wood resistant armor and earth elemental weapons I could go to a lvl 15 wood feild useing the same character without fear.

So yes, luck dose play it's fair share. But I don't agree that it is mostly luck... just careful planning with a bit of chance thrown in.

I personally don't play FPS games, but I love watching my father play them... more of a spectator sport to me. And speaking of which, I love the way the Unreal Tournament games are set up like some kind of sporting contest... even with the bullets and what not flying around... smile

FPS = heart _ heart

I've played them and the system is not that hart to get used to after a few moments of playing, but honestly, I think it's the same thing over and over, go shoot, walk shoot, get something, shoot. Which is why I don't like them that much. I've played Halo two and after beating it, decided that I don't like first person shooting games. Fighting games are more my thing.

Shooters are something I've always wanted to learn to play well but have never been able to actually get the time to set aside for and get good at. Right now trying to aim in them just makes me really queasy, especially with more advanced titles (i.e. anything past GBA-level), and especially where there's jumping involved. sad
