Ze Winged Kitty Cat
DO's
Wear conservative clothing. No micro minis and tube tops.
Keep a Lolita attitude. We're generally old fashioned.
PUFFY SKIRTS! Easy to make, and I was able to get a nice one in my little town for $50. Not hard.

I'm not good with this. On to the next thing...

DON'T's
Don't be an eliteist. It just isn't fun, guys.
Don't wear spike pinheels. Doesn't look quite right...
Don't buy your entire wardrobe at hot topic. A real cute shirt with potential? Fine. But not all your clothing should be from any one store.
Don't try to wear every single style. Try to focus on one.
-C'est la lune qui conduit la danse...-

Being "Elitist" is unavoidable. Lolita is an elitist fashion. It's either you do it right, or you don't.

And wearing multiple styles is a person's preference. I'm not gonna stick to Sweet Lolita because it's one the styles I like the most.

I have to agree that Lolita is an elitist fashion and that a don't shouldn't consider wearing only one style. Sweet, Elegant Gothic, Punk, all are love. <3
What saddens me is that part of the elitist side here are not helping thoses who protray the fashion wrong, they'd rather make fun of them and make them feel bad instead of reacting properly and maturely to the situation which would hopefully fan out the wars between the fashion so we all become purely loli-ness. o:

Well, to be fair, a lot of times the girls new to things don't particularly care to listen to critique. They'll ask for constructive criticism or help, and when it's genuinely offered they'll throw a fit over not being praised endlessly or else cry "evil elitist!" and cause a slew of drama.

It goes both ways. People need to be more accepting of critique, as well as willing to give it fairly.

I have to agree with that too! x_x
It's like asking for world peace. ;p
It does go both ways, maybe at least in this guild we can prevent things like that though.

At the very least we can try--maybe this thread will help.
Has anyone gone through to compile things and make a full list of the advice people have offering so far? It might be something useful to have on the front page of the guild. Especially the part about critique and maintaining a mature attitude.

It's already in my to do list for the guild, which is very big. n_~

Ahhhh. That being the case, if I manage to have time, I'll try and give you a hand in weeding out duplicates and sorting. ^^;

You are an example of a perfect guild member. ;P
Have you thought about filling out a moderator application?

Actually, I don't much have the time to be a moderator I'm afraid. I can manage active member [it's not hard to make a few posts a day] and will consider it, but this semester school is killing me so I'm not on as much as I used to be. ^^;

But yeah. I'll think it over. Thanks!
