Personality: Libra is a born cynic and relentless grudgebearer. Having suffered for her small stature and unusual preferences all her life, she has learned to regard others as untrustworthy and will only relinquish this opinion of another after a long and flawless record of good behaviour toward her.
Location: Fyhi tel Oren, almost exclusively so - she has a cave there to which she frequently retreats, particularly when it is cold. She feeds at the foot of the mountains in the vicinity of her tree, and almost never travels further afield.

02 - Tree, Concept, Rules, Thanks

The tree before you seems like steel, cold and hard and rigid. Its branches are numerous and covered in leaves: bordered with lead grey, they seem almost to be made of unstained glass. Perhaps the colour has been bleached from them by the sun. Odd arrow markings are everywhere, ingrained into the bark, traced through the glass leaves in the same leaden colour that edges them. When the wind blows, the soft chiming could almost come from glass leaves striking their brethren - but no, a small collection of silver bells have been hung from the branches, and they ring gently whenever a breeze picks up. Anywhere else they might sound cheerful. Here, they are hauntingly alien.

This tree, like Libra, is completely experimental - it deliberately deviates from my usual single-character journal format, and strives to grow from a small starting point as a chronicle of the character's development. In this case, it is a record of the directed creative process. I set out to create Libra with a solid concept in mind, and a good idea of what I wanted to achieve. Everything here has been meticulously planned and thought out, from the starting influences to the final creation of this journal - in sharp contrast to Iona, who was thrown at me as a complete unknown and grew in a series of mostly unplanned reactions to existing actions.
The thread map below will grow as the thread does: I'm not interested in a particularly expansive journal. Hopefully it'll be helpful to anyone wondering how I create my characters as well as to the character herself.
A few rules:
- Please don't post here: unlike Iona's journal, this space will be kept neat and tidy.
- No yoinking of anything that's not yours: that goes for art, writings and anything else you may find here.
- Please be polite and considerate OOC - IC, I don't much care if you throw yourself upon Libra's questionable mercies... XD

- chains: drew arrows for the feel of something painted on tarmac or a crate, ended up with the equilibrium sign
- hence the name "Libra"
- original design not chosen: good thing too, it was too dark due to a bright monitor I'd been using
- won a custom Bae in the participation contest

- finding cert background: settled on thorns for the prickly nature, unable to find anything industrial that was suitable
- rolling stats...
- the 5 STR: saw her as short, but now I had backup!
- the 15 INT: perfect!
- the 15 CRG: not that she isn't afraid, she just doesn't let it make her run from a fight she has to face
- the 6 LCK: oh, that sounds about right...
- and thus her character was fleshed out using the stats
