Runaways is an awesomeful series. It's a marvel comic book about some ragtag adolescent superheroes who band together to stop their evil parents. Despite being superficially hokey, it has incredibly realistic characters, which is a feat all the more difficult given the unreal situation, and great comedy. There's a magical artifact called "The Staff of One" and they spend most of the first book just bonking people on the head with it.
The most awesome of all, however, is Gert.
Gert is a purple-haired, chubby, non-foil, non stock character, non comic relief girl. She is smart, whitty, funny, sassy without being obnoxious, and all-around awesome.
Anybody else familiar with this series? (I've only finished the last issue of "Parental Guidance", so no spoilers please)

Yes, Fuzz I'm very familiar with the Runaways series. I have to wait untill the 17th of April for Live Fast, urgh, the suspence is hard to bear.
But anyways, if you just finished Parental Guidence then I can imagine that you was as bummed out as me over you know what.

Yarg =/
I was hoping to start up again with the individual comic issues, but apparently my local comic store is clean out of #19. Consequently, since marvel never reprints anything ever except in trade paperback form, I'm stuck waiting here while the piles of issues #20 and 22 leer mockingly at me.

Yay for Runaways! *dances* I really need to catch up on the individual issues too, as I have only read the first two digests. Which means, as you know, that I'm farther than you, Fuzzy, but I share your pain at not being caught up.
Note to self - must draw all of the Runaways girls BBW 4laugh

You can find the trade paperbacks (starting with Vol. 1 Pride and Joy) at your local comic book vending establishment. If this fails, try the library or amazon.com.
