Kaiya leaned against a tree, bored. "Nothing interesting ever happens," she murmured quietly to herself. "What am I supposed to do when no one needs any work done for them?" She pulled out her dagger and started stabbing the tree idly, peeling off the bark. A twig cracked behind her. She ignroed it. Something touched her shoulder. "Took you long enough," Kaiya drawled. "What have you got for me?"
"Around the next holiday," a short, skinny man said, staring at Kaiya, "a powerful demon will attack the city. Anyone who defeats him will get a special power."
"Good enough," Kaiya said. "I'll spare your life. Run along now, before I change my mind." She started cleaninbg her nails with the dagger. Looking up, she saw the man was still standing there. "What? Do you want me to kill you?"
The man grinned, trying to look evil but just managing to look stupid. "I picked up some friends in town," he said. "Ones that are eager for a new challenge."
"That so?" Kaiya asked, reaching under her skirt to sheathe her dagger. She stretched, reaching for the tree's leaves. "What'd you promise them in return? Hmm?"
"You'll find out," the man said, leering. Sort of.
Kaiya smirked. "Whatever." She turned to go, only to find her path blocked by a big, bulky man. "This is all you could come up with?" she demanded. "I'm insulted."
"That's not all," her temporary minion said. More men stepped out from behind him.
"That is?"
"Yep."
"Still insulted," Kaiya remarked, pulling her dagger out again. "So, who's first?" she asked. "Or are you all going to come at me at once?" she inquired, grinning. "Why not? Make it more fun."
The men charged. Kaiya slipped her knife between the closest's one's ribcage when he got into range. The next she kicked in the crotch, and another punched in the jaw, which sent him back reeling. She shook her hand, as if that had hurt, just to play along with people's expectations. The men (the ones who were still alive and upright) started to laugh at the weak little girl. Kaiya grinned at their idiocy.
"I could get used to this place," she remarked, kicking a third man in the stomach. When he knelt down to clutch at it, she slammed her clenched fists down onto his head, then slicing his throat open with her dagger. "One left? Easy-peasy."
The man looked at her, then at his fallen companions, and ran. Kaiya's informant looked incredulously around at all the bodies.
"Have fun?" Kaiya asked. "Now I have to kill you, too, you know." The man turned to run, and Kaiya sighed. "Why do they always think that'll work?" She threw her dagger, hitting the man squarely in the back. Walking over, she pulled the dagger out of the still-squirming man. "Have fun dying. Slowly." She turned him over and ripped open his stomach, letting the guts spill out. "'Bye, now." Kaiy walked toward the city the man had gone to.

Roze finished wrapping her wounds and shivered as she recalled the punch. She never liked being touched and never would. She sneered as she called her dragon. "Slight change of plans, We're killing the employers." She said hatefully. "But we shall return."

Kyna sat on a stone on the edge of the forest, peering inside. "Hm. It doesn't look too welcoming," she said to herself. "Well, at least others will think that, too, if anyone tries to come after me." She hoped no one had noticed her leaving Litha, but one could never be too sure. She stood up, stretched her arms into the air, and walked into the forest.

Kyna hummed softly to herself, running her fingers through her hair idly as she walked. "No one's following, right?" she asked, stopping her humming for the time it took to ask that. The answer was instantaneous: No, no one was following. "Good." She went back to humming, listening to the sound of the forest around her. She frowned and stopped humming. "This is a weird forest," Kyna remarked. "It sounds different. And I don't hear many animals." The wind negated this. There were animals, they were just hiding. Kyna's frown deepened. "From what?" The wind didn't know.

Quite suddenly, there was an extremely loud roar. "Was that from inside the forest?" The wind replied in the affirmative. "Oh, great. Is it hungry?" Another yes. "Wonderful. Just what I needed. Shall we go?" Yet another yes. "Coward." Yes. "All right, all right, I'm going." She started off in the opposite direction the roar had come from. "This is the way out, right?" Yes. "All right."
The wind hipped around Kyna as she walked. Run, it told her. "What? Why?" It comes. "Ah, crap." Kyna broke into a dead sprint, something she wasn't particularly good at. She was better at running than fighting, though, coward that she was. A really, really, really big... thing broke free of the trees onto the path where Kyna was running. "Damn. I was almost out, too." She stopped dead, as did the monster.
It was huge. Taller than Kyna by almost a foot, the creature--there's really no other name for it--was also bulky with muscle. It sat panting and staring at Kyna.
"Need something?" Kyna asked sweetly.
The creature unfolded massive wings.
"...That's not good."
It shrieked, the echoes bouncing off the trees. Large teeth were revealed when its huge mouth opened.
"Oh, this is so not my day," Kyna muttered. Addressing the creature directly, she demanded, "Are you the thing that's scared all the birds away?" Yes, came the wind's rely. "Oy! So why did I go to that stupid city in the first place?!" It sounded fun. "Trust you to do that to me. Now I have to deal with this, huh? Then the birds will come back. Dandy." Yes. "All right, buster," Kyna said to the monster. "Wanna fight? Then fight."
The creature let loose another shriek and charged at Kyna, its wings folding again. "Oh, crap," Kyna repeated. With a flick of her hand, wind swirled around the creature's head, blinding it. It let loose another cry, annoyed. Kyna pulled out her dagger and, focusing her will, hardened a single gust of air around the blade, making the blade longer and much, much sharper. She hefted it, testing the balance. "Hopefully this will work."
Kyna ran at the monster, her stomach roiling and her heart pounding. This so isn't what I was made to do, she thought. Her hair fluttered out behind her as she stabbed the monster. In the wrong place. "Dammit! Quit moving around!"
Hot black blood fell to the ground, sizzling where it touched. "Acid blood? Great, one more thing to worry about." Kyna retreated. The wind continued to hound at the creature. "All right. Hold it still, will you?" she requested.
Obediently, the wind stregthened into bonds. The creature thrashed mightily, but didn't move. "Always good to have a super-strong friend on hand," Kyna said, grinning. Hurry up. Strong beast. "All right, all right. I'm going as fast as I can here. I'm not made of air, you know. I get tired." So do we. "Good point. All right, here I go." Kyna took a steadying breath and went up to the creature. "Sorry about this, but the birds really do need to come back." With a quick flick of the sword, Kyna slashed the creatures throat.. "Not a good idea," she remarked after a pause. "Oh, well." She skipped out of the way as acidic blood poured from the creatures throat. Slowly, the monster stopped thrashing and finally died. "Well. Now that that's over with, what do we do?"
Find who made it.
"Oh, no. I'm not doing that," Kyna protested. "If someone made this, then he can probably make something even stronger! I can't do it alone!"
Sora?
"Pfft. He won't want to help me."
Why?
"I don't know, he just won't."
The wind gave off a distinct feeling of irritation.
"Why do you want me to ask him?"
Because.
"Specific, aren't you?"
Yes.
Kyna sighed. "I'll ask someone else. Okay?"
Kyna got the feeling that the wind was shrugging. Do what you like.
"For once, you mean? Good. I will." Kyna walked out of the forest, examining her clothes for tears or blood. Her skirt was torn, and her shirt, but it was nothing major. She could fix all of it.

Altheia stalked through the forest, throwing balls of fire around in her ire. She hated it when she was bested by anyone, let alone by a mere whelp of a boy. She muttered to herself, "How dare he. I was about to break through the damn child's natural defenses." Growling under her breath, she threw her hand out dramatically. A tree in front of her exploded. Smiling, Altheia proceeded to blast the hell out of the forest, leaving a widew swath in the shade around her. Finally, she walked gracefully out of the woods, her skirts swirling about her feet and legs.

"Is nothing sacred anymore?" Blackfeather said as she rolled her eyes. The place she had landed was a clearing with well the remains of trees that seemed to have been distroyed by magic. "I just can't get lucky now can I? Can't see my sister...her temper will get the best of her if I show. No on Cat and Ayane or The little pup Cat has practically adopted." Blackfeather said aloud counting who she couldn't visit. "Litha has too much energy that draws to me everytime I get near it. And Miya is out of the question. I'm tired of teleporting...I'm just going to fly somewhere." Blackfeather finally agreed to something. Wings shot out of her back yet didn't seem to disturb her clothes at all. She picked up the wing beneath her wings and fly over the forest. "Maybe that other town will be fun." Blackfeather said to herself as she headed towards a market town.
