Death Note is a manga (and an anime) about a student named Yagami Raito/Light (Depends on what kind of translation you're reading) who picks up a Death Note, a notebook with the power to kill someone by just writing down their name with the person's face in mind. Soon enough, he starts a campaign to kill off all the bad people in the world, and become a god of the new world, but eventually the police catch on to the fact that so many criminals are dying, and start an investigation against "Kira," which is the nickname given to Light by the public. It's a rough outline, but Scelero doesn't like spoilers, and is lazy as well. xp
It's actually one of the more brilliant mangas Scelero's read.
