He sat, thinking about the idea for a moment. Something with an 'A' like his name. Perhaps an Ai sound as well? Man... he could only have imagined how hard his momma and dad had to have worked to name him and his four siblings....
When his 'adopted' cousin entered, Ai looked to her and smiled a bit, watching her.
Such a cute little kid.
".. Ai...Ay..." Ummm... ".... How about.. 'Ayato'?"
He winced a bit after saying it. Probably wasn't the best name he'd thought of (but much better than 'Grassy' he was sure..)

Ayato, it was perfect! Tai's smile brightened, both at her daughter's arrival and the suggested name.
"Ayato is the perfect name for him." She confirmed with a purr, eyes drifting for a moment again to the son that bore the most of her color thus far. "Zira," She spoke again softly, this time looking to her daughter, encouraging her to come closer. "it's alright Zira, would you like to say hello to your new little brothers?"

The tiny black cub stared at her mother for a moment, blinking softly before very gently she padded toward the bright white female and sniffed the air as she got about a foot or two away from her.
Those little fuzzy things sure did smell funny.
They smelt like momma...but like something else too.
What could it be?
As Tai beckoned her closer she moved over to her mothers face and nuzzled under her chin in greeting before casting her golden eye's over the tiny balls of fluff.
For a moment, all she could do was stare at them before a smile crossed her muzzle and she sat down between Tai's paws happily.
"Hello little brothers! Welcome to life!" She said softly, as not to frighten them as her eye's shifted from one cub to the next.

Ai smiled. He'd actually come up with a good name! That boosted his confidence in such things a bit. The boy would have to put such thought into names in the future as well, he decided. Looking over his cousins again, he couldn't help but smile at how brightly Zira greeted her 'little brothers'.
Oh, how many paws he would have to look after as they grew up. They were almost dear to him, though by blood they were not close (or in some cases, not at all.. ).
"Yes! Welcome to life and the family, little cousins!" Ai chimed in agreement, chest puffing up proudly.
A thought almost occured to him, however. They were going to need a father figure! It was almost tempting to him to want to play such a role. Then it almost made him gasp internally. He was actually KEEN on the idea of being a role-model to little ones.
However, he got a sinking suspicion that the role of 'male role-model' in their lives would go to his own father. Maybe not. He could always hope to play an important role for them.

Udha, like his sister, had been exploring but, unlike his sister, he'd ventured much further away from the cave. Well, not MUCH further, he just greatly disliked the darkness and loved to wander around in the sunlight.
With less concern than his sister at the gathered crowds (he had witnessed many 'blobs' at his birth afterall), he stood and waited for an opportunity to duck inside, hoping it was something exciting or something to play with. Finding that to be a lost cause, he weaved his little form between legs and underneath bellies until he came to the spot.
His mother curled up, three wiggling...things...at her tummy and his sister curled in Tai's paws. He looked a the scene curiously, his previously bouncy tail having slowed to a stop.
What were they?
