Seriously, I don't think you can leave etna out of this one. She is the third.
You can't help it.
Tink just sucks too hard to be the third and Yukimaru does tie into the story enough.
Ahem, not attached enough to the game Yukimaru entered in later yes but Etna was still wondering on her own trying to kill Zennon.
Well SO WAS YUKIMARU.
Her clan was wiped out by the fake Zennon 15 years ago, she and Fubuki being the only surivors and 2 of a handful of humans left in Veldime, I'ld say they actually ARE a big part to the story.
Etna's story is barely touched on, you fight her once then later Laharl shows up then there is the bill for the fight against Laharl and Flonne and learn more.
So I beg to differ to about Etna and as I said she's part of the origional Disgaea2.
There was also other stuff like the fact Zennon or the fake one rather didn't realise Yukimaru nor Fubuki had so much potential anyway until Fubuki successfully killed him once but not pernamently.
