Now I know what you are going to say, masking is easy peasy! Just open photoshop and...
Eeps! Yes straightforward and easy... but the problem is I want to know how to do it in Painter IX. XDD
I have heard whispers of this ability, but google and deviantart both yielded next to no tutorials on the program itself (new version) and though I saw references about the ability to masking and indeed a whole tutorial about how to do it in Painter 6, nothing in IX. (tried the painter 6 way but too much has changed in the interface so it was absolutely no good to me)
If anyone could point me to a good tutorial or somewhere to find this out that would be awesome. Thanks!

sorry, I don't know of none. But that's because i don't even know what masking is! Or the term. I don't know. What is it *so dumb.*
