Shadow Puppet
3-16-05 - First trip to the Anima Gardens

Shadow didn't need another child, she already had Seven, Taima, Plat, and Acti. How could she manage a house with more than that? This was getting rediculous! Even if Plat and Acti were fairly independant now, they still needed care from time to time.

Seven was a nuisance, always causing trouble, even if he was the most adorable child she'd ever seen. His curiousity often times got the best of both of them, causing all sorts of havoc.

So WHY, of all people, did SEVEN want a lantern?

Vanille had mentioned that the lanterns sometimes turn into children? But only ones that had butterflies around them. Maybe she was right about the ones with mist... she could only hope, as saying no to Seven was about as hard as sawing her own leg off.

"Can't you have some OTHER pretty thing, Seven?" She asked... practically begged the small boy.

Seven only shook his head. He wanted a pretty lantern! They were sparkly and bright and interesting and and and... The nice lady even promised to give him one.

"Pwetty fo' Sewen~" He said again. He enjoyed saying it It meant he was getting something new and interesting to play with, and he just knew Shadow liked pretty stuff too, from the decorations in the house.

She shook her head and sighed, brushing a hand back through her hair. This was going to be difficult. If it was indeed going to turn into a child, she'd have to keep it safe... right?

"If we get the pretty lantern, you have to PROMISE to keep it safe." She said very sternly.

Seven tilted his head, wondering what she meant by that.

The curiousity he expressed told Shadow she needed to explain it more thoroughly. "That means no experimenting, no drawing on it, no tossing it around. It's going to be for decoration, not for play.. ok Seven?"

Admittedly, Seven was dissapointed. There's nothing he wanted to do more than tear off the lid and look inside at what the lantern was made of. He would have to comprimise though... or at least only do things while Shadow wasn't looking. He smiled brightly and gave Shadow a very sincere smile.

He could take care of the pretty, and play with it carefully. Of course he could keep it safe! Even if he was only a child that was tempted easily. Certainly.

Shadow peered at Seven, very closely. She had to be sure he wasn't lying just to get the lantern. Of course he wasn't really old enough yet to be too deceptive.

A groan murmered in the back of her throat and she nodded to the boy. It was settled then. Tomorrow she would go to pick up a lantern for Seven, and they'd have a new toy around the house.

She could only hope this wasn't a huge mistake...

3-21-05 - Giving the Lantern a Home

Carefully, Shadow placed the lantern up on the windowsill. Seven was still too small to reach it up there and she figured it would be a nice place for it to rest till she could find somewhere to hang it.

"There you go, Seven. Your very own lantern by your very own window." She smiled slightly, trying to supress the sick feeling she felt in her stomach that something would go wrong with it.

Seven grinned broadly, reaching for it, finding himself quickly dissapointed when he couldn't reach the thing. He wanted to play with it, "Ahh, Sewen can't reach."

Shadow grinned smugly, "Exactly. This isn't a toy Seven, so we must not touch it, it's only here to look pretty, ok?" With that, she turned and left the room to find something to hang it up with. A ceiling hook or some string or something.

The green mist swirled around the lantern, never haulting it's trajectory unless Seven managed to get his grubby hands too close.

Seven paused in his efforts too look around for something to stand on. The bed wasn't close enough to the window to be any help, and the dresser was too heavy to really move. The legos where too small. No. No. No... YES!

Seven pattered across the room and quickly went to work pulling his little toychest towards the window. He could stand on that fine! And.. it was sturdy enough to hold him, he'd stood on it before to reach stuff in his dresser, certainly it would be enough for him to reach the pretty lantern in the window.

Thunk. Finally, the toy chest came to rest beneath the window, snugly pressed up against the wall.

Seven scrambled up ontop of it, reaching as far as he could, his fingers wrapped around the feet of the lantern. Finally! He got his pretty! Now lets see what's inside...

Seven's hand wrapped around the lid, but as he tried to pull there was nothing in his hands, "Eh!?" He cried, looking around frantically.

Shadow loomed over him, holding the lantern in her hand just out of Seven's reach, "Seven." She said sternly, giving him one of those 'what do you think you're doing?' looks.

The little boy pouted and plunked down on his rear on the toychest, "Pwetty fo' Sewen?" He said timidly, wringing his hands together.

Shadow shook her head a little, "Pretty for Seven to LOOK at, not to take apart." With that, she took the hook and string she found and went about hanging the lantern from above the windowsill.

The mint green mist swirled slowly around the lantern just as it had always done, creating sort of a peaceful look to it. What was brewing inside though... no one would know until the perfect moment.

Playdate || Lun and Seven

Shadow Puppet
Shadow coughed, waving her hand through the air, trying to ward off the small dust cloud Seven was carting around. How he managed to get SOO dirty everytime they went somewhere was beyond her. "Seven, now I want you to be on your best behavior, even if they seem a little crazy. Just remember this is a brand new baby, don't... crawl on him like you do the others."

She knew Seven had a way of making trouble, but she could only hope it wouldn't get too ridiculous. She kneeled down beside him and tried to brush off most of the dust and soot he was covered in. "How did you manage to get so much dirt all over you?" She muttered under her breath. He had just bathed this morning and he was already covered from head to toe, only a few white spits remained on his little jacket.

Seven just giggled and squirmed as Shadow brushed him off, "I wanna go, pway tiiiime~" He said, making squeezy hand gestures towards the doorway of Puchiko's place.

She nodded to him, "Yes, it's play time, but you still have to be good."

She was not going to let Seven run a muck here.. hopefully. Though somehow she always managed to get distracted by something.

She took Seven's grubby, dirty little hand and led him up to the doorway. It'll be fine, nothing's going to go wrong, nothing at all. We're just coming here to play for a few hours and then we'll be gone. Certainly.

A loud knock was heard on Puchiko's door, followed by a much quieter one in exactly the same tempo.

Knock Knock - knock knock

Puchiko
Puchiko, for her part, was panicking.

She was holding a see-through baby who was kinda gooey, like he was made out of Jell-O or something, and who had planets SPINNING around his freaking HEAD. The baby, for his part, simply smiled politely at Puchiko's confusion, as if he were apologizing for causing such a fuss. He was a surprisingly quiet child, but that still didn't make up for the fact that he was made of gelatin.

There was a knock on the door and Puchiko whirled around, struggling to keep her grip on the surprisingly slippery baby. The planets around the baby's head spun a bit faster, keeping up with the sudden jerking movement.

She glanced down, wide-eyed, at the yellow child. Someone ALREADY? By Einstein, word got AROUND.

"Hello?" she called, somewhat tremulously. Disarming the security system (mmm, laser cannons) Puchiko slowly opened the door. There was SP - thank god, a familiar face! - and a strange child.

"Oh, good," Puchi said bluntly. She held her newest addition out at SP. "Here, you keep it, I don't want it."

The baby still just smiled just as politely as ever. "So sorry about all this," it seemed to say.

Shadow Puppet
Shadow's eyes went wide as she saw the strange child Puchiko was holding, and even wider at the words she heard her say, "Me keep it? I already have enough to take care of!" She cried. She was just coming over for a visit to see the new arrival, she didn't want to gain another child, "No no no no no~ Don't be silly! Of course you want him.. I mean look he's.."

She stopped, unable to really find words to describe what she was seeing. A gelatine child with swirly balls orbiting around it? What the hell kind of child was that. "He's... he's... Nice and squishy?" She said, taking a step back.

Seven, on the other hand, couldn't wait to hold the other baby. He hopped around by Puchiko's feet, completely entranced by the other boy and the crazy things around him. "Pwetty for Sewen!" He grinned, reaching his chubby little hands towards the yellow mass of goo that made up the other child.

Shadow shook her head, trying her best to shush Seven. She'd already gotten in enough trouble with him wanting 'pwetty's. "No Seven, that's Puchiko's child, he's not a play thing!" She cried. Oh this was going to be interesting.

Seven continued to shed soot and dust as he bounced by Puchiko's feet.

Puchiko
"No, look, Seven can keep him! Really. Don't you want Seven to have a younger, more gelatinous brother?" Puchi asked, shaking her head desperately. The bouncing kid was starting ******** grate her nerves. With a bit of a grumble, she set baby on the ground, where he sat, staring patiently at Seven, the faintest traces of a geniune smile on his lips. He blinked his perfectly white eyes at Seven as the planets around his head orbitted more slowly as he considered the baby in front of him.

He had fluffy white things coming out of his back. How quaint! Quite.

"I don't waaaannntt him," Puchiko protested. "I don't! He's - I mean, he's WEIRD. You can poke your finger through him! Watch!" she cried, then jabbed a finger through the baby's "skull." It passed right through and the baby didn't even seem to notice. She jerked it out with a shudder.

"It's creeeeeppppyy," Puchi whispered.

Shadow Puppet
Holy crap. Shadow nearly fainted right there as she watched Puchiko shove her finger into the childs skull... or what appeared to be where a skull should be, "Oh my gad, don't do that!" She cried, giving a shudder. This boy was indeed strange.

Seven watched with wonder at what Puchiko just did and he simply HAD to do it himself. He shoved both his hands foreward and attempted to push then through the other boy, wriggling his little fingers as he did.

"Seven!" Shadow cried again, pulling the boy back from the other, "Oh my god I'm so sorry!" She blinked, looking from Seven's hands to the goo child, then back to Seven. Did he just shove his hands through him too?

Seven just giggled and rubbed his hands together. Oh this was going to be FUN.

Puchiko
Seven's hands passed right through the baby's chest, and the boy simply blinked passively at Seven, head cocked to the side. It tickled a bit, but aside from that there was no sensation. Assuming that this was a good thing from Seven's expression, the baby clapped his hands, his many bracelets jangling up and down his arms, and smiled brightly. He was a good boy!

"Pllleassse take him," Puchiko pleaded. "He's weird, and your boy seems to like him. I'm sure he'll be much happier with you. I don't - well, come on! He's like... a freaking solar system. I don't do astronomy."

Maybe he should put his fingers into himself too? Experimentally, the baby stuck one of his his own fingers through his arm, wiggled it about, and giggled. That tickled even more!

Shadow Puppet
The firey haired boy's eyes widened, listening carefully to Puchiko's words. Oh how fun it would be to have a little brother that was as strange and mysterious as him!

"No." Shadow said very sternly, pulling Seven away from the other boy. "He was given to you for a reason, just like Seven was given to me. Besides, I have enough trouble at home! Taima's still in a.. coma or whatever, and Seven's non-stop trouble! He's your responsibility, not mine!" She didn't need another child, she already had four to take care of.

"You can handle this, you just have to get... used to him." She wrinkled her nose a little. All this shoving of hands into the odd boy was starting to make her sick.. and a bit curious.

Seven wriggled and whined as he tried to free himself from the deathgrip Shadow had on his arm. He had to figure out this new boy, thing.. Maybe he wasn't even a boy! He was just a crazy, moving wiggly goo thing that had funny little toys circling him.

Seven reached his hand foreward as far as he could, trying to take hold of one of the orbiting planets. Just.. a little... farther...

Puchiko
"What reason could people have for Goo Boy here? Unless you intend to cure world hunger with gelatin. I think you're putting way too much faith in me here - I REALLY can't handle this. What the hell does it eat? Does it need to go to the bathroom? You know, people don't like it when I experiment on babies but APPARENTLY THERE IS A REASON." Puchiko fumed, stamping her foot. Personally, the baby just threw her for a loop. Coming out of nowhere, and looking so strange -

Hmm. Wait. Perhaps if she could run some little tests...

"All right," sniffed the scientist, crossing her arms over her chest. "I'll keep the bugger. Not willingly! I blame this on you."

Meanwhile, on the floor, the baby was marvelling at the strange things his "skin" was apparently capable of, when he felt something reach out and disrupt the delicate orbit of the planets around his head. With a squeal he toppled backward, although he himself didn't quite understand the reason for it. Pushing himself back up, he began to sniffle, blinking his white eyes rapidly.

"Oh crap," Puchi stated. She hated it when they cried.

But surprisingly, the baby didn't cry. After a few sniffles it seemed to settle down, although the smile it now wore seemed to be more apologetic and strained than ever. Puchi raised an eyebrow.

"Not a crier, huh?" she mused, more to herself. "Maybe he won't be so bad."

Shadow Puppet
Seven froze in his outstretched position, watching closely as the boy toppled backwards. He made a small mental note, something along the lines of 'planets are sensative, be very careful'. After several moments of thought he squirmed and tried to poke at his skin again. What WAS this boy? SO COOL. Squish squish~

If there was anyone that appreciated diversity more than anyone else, it was Seven. He LOVED different and new things. Strange things. Slippery things. Dirty things. EVERYTHING. He loved to discover.

Shadow rolled her eyes a little at Puchiko, "Fine, blame this on me, as long as I don't have to take another child with me." She kept Seven held back as best as she could, especially after the little near-crying incident.

"Be gentle, he's not a toy, Seven." She groaned, trying to pry him back, though he was suprisingly strong for a child when he wanted something.. like trying to pick up a cat when it doesn't want to be.

Puchiko
"I guess I should give it a name," Puchi said, ignoring SP's latest comments. She scratched idly at her greasy red hair, lips pursed to the side as she considered her options. She had some baby-naming books in the back, and an internet connection. She could probably find something weird enough for the strange new addition.

The as-of-yet nameless baby carefully reached up and rearranged the disturbed planet, giving it a slight twirl with his chubby fingers. The planet picked up spinning right where it left off and the baby cantered his head, considering its orbit before turning back to Seven with a much more natural smile. Now that things had been settled once more, he stretched out an arm towards Seven, who clearly wanted to experiment more with baby's skin. Let him! He was quite curious to see what it could do himself, as he had only just begun to experience his own limitations and strengths, being naught but a new arrival. If weird skin was among those strengths, all the better.

Puchiko raised an eyebrow at the two. "Well. Your kid certainly seems to be interested in Goo Boy. I really should take a skin sample, see what the hell he's made of..." Puchi trailed off, looking contemplative. So many possibly tests, so little time!

Shadow Puppet
Shadow peered at the scientest as she looked down at the boy with a sinister sort of look, idly wondering to herself what she could possibly be thinking. Shadow, for one, wasn't one who enjoyed experimenting on children, at least not the way Puchiko did. Disection and skin samples and such.

"Maybe you should just examine him in his... natural.. habitat.." She paused, realizing she really had no clue what sort of environment would be natural to a child like him. He seemed relatively comfortable where they were, but in reality... he didn't really look like he belonged.

Seven pushed two little fingers into the boy's arm and wiggled them around, flicking his little wings behind him. "Skwooshy." He said, nibbling a bit on his lower lip.

He then shoved his hand inside and tried to close it around some of his skin and pull it out, perhaps. "Wha awe you?" He said, half expecting an answer from the new boy, half expecting him to start bubbling and hover around him.

A name..? "How about Gloop." She said, rather sarcastically.

Puchiko
The baby blinked as Seven closed his fist inside his arm, then pulled it back out. Unfortunately, his skin held and Seven's hand came back empty, save a very thin coating (practically intangible) of the stuff composing the yellow baby.

"Your kid seems like he's a bit of a scientist himself," Puchi said with a snort. As far as scientists went in her family - well, Rho was an inventor, but not a particularily good one. She oughta take that Seven kid under her wing and show him the ropes - then again, she got the feeling that Shadow might disapprove of that.

Especially since most of Puchi's experiments had become somewhat... unethical. Indeed.

"I'll do that too, of course," Puchi said, waving a hand dismissively at Shadow. "But we've got to experiment to find out what, exactly, his natural environment is, you see. I'm guessing a pool full of lemon Jell-O. Is there a lemon-flavored Jell-O? Hmm."

The aptly nicknamed "Gloop" blinked at Seven, not quite understanding what it was he was saying. He simply shook his head uncomprehendingly and smiled once more, offering Seven a polite pat on the wing.

Oh! Oh! Those were actually quite fluffy. "Gloop" decided he liked those. He gave them another pat, just to make sure the fluffiness wasn't a fluke - and lo, they were fluffy indeed! Delighted, the baby let out a bright squeal and eagerly grabbed one of Seven's wings. The wing actually sunk into the baby's hand so much that the tip of it actually poked its way through the top, much to the baby's frustration. How could he grab things if they just disappeared into his hands?

Shadow Puppet
"Scientist... I guess you could say that. He is quite the little... researcher... for a child." She said with a slight hint of remourse. His experimentation had led him into trouble a few times, but he just kept at it.

Luckily for her, though, he did find time to sleep inbetween his little experiments and such. Hadn't quite had the drive to stay up for days at a time working. Or, at least, Shadow wouldn't let him.

She watched as "Gloop" now started poking back at Seven, and promptly wrinkled her forehead. What if that boys skin didn't wash off easily? Then she'd have gloop boy residue all over Seven. Not that he wasn't covered in soot anyways, but the less things that stuck to him the better.

Seven pouted at the sight of nothing in his hands and rubbed his fingertips together curiously. Disheartened that the other boy hadn't grasped any of the english language yet, he sighed.

Quickly though, he was distracted by the slightly sticky feeling in his wing. He glanced over to see "Gloop" playing with it and turned slightly to let him get a better feel, stretching the underdeveloped wing out towards the other boy.

"Dey wike bi'd wing, kinda" He said with a confident nod. He'd sat by his window on occassion and watched the bluejays that sat outside the apartment in the trees. He hadn't managed to see any white birds yet, or any birds that had wings quite as fluffy as his, but he had seen slight similarities.

Puchiko
"Well, you should certainly nuture that innate gift!" Puchi replied, straightening her shoulders. "There's no finer employment than that of a scientist, I assure you. Who knows? Maybe he'll make Mendel Juniors or something."

That was a scary thought, actually. Puchi's shoulders gave a slight shake as chills rushed up and down her spine.

"I'll see if I can find him a chemistry set," she decided, with a stern nod.

Gloop, still not understanding the stream of garbled words coming from Seven's mouth, merely nodded energetically and drew his hand back. He didn't have anything fluffy about him... even his hair, solid in contrast to the rest of his body, was more fine and silky than soft and feathery. Sighing in disappointment with himself, Gloop self-consciously adjusted one of the bangles on his arm. Did everyone else have wings? Or... or solid skin? Eyes with little black and colored dots in them?

Or was everyone like him?

Gloop wasn't sure which was worse.

His mind soon returned to the task at hand, however, and he smiled brightly at Seven.

Puchi sighed and scratched her nose. "Anyway. No point in standin' around here. Wanna come in?"

Shadow Puppet
Chemistry set? Shadow wasn't too sure about that, but perhaps it wouldn't hurt. A child's chemistry set anyways, nothing that could be potentially lethal.

Shadow offered a nod and plucked Seven off the floor, "Certainly better than standing on the doorstep." At least she assumed it would be.

Seven gave a brief whine at being seperated from his new friend before settling down in Shadow's arms, realizing she wasn't taking them apart, meerly transporting them.

His ears perked a little and he glanced at Puchi, remembering what she had mentioned a few moments before, "Chemist'wy set?" He chimed, giving a bright grin.

Puchiko
"I don't know," Puchiko drawled, lifting Gloop with a slight look of distaste into her arms. The door closed behind them with the press of a button on a nearby console, "My front stoop is pretty nice. Very... stoopy."

Gloop shifted happily in the arms holding him, fingers wrapped around the strange, cracked egg he seemed to carry around everywhere. He quite liked this fluffy-winged fellow! Very nice. He smiled at Seven, stuffing his fist in his mouth and sucking on it thoughtfully.

Puchiko led the way down the hall, whistling to herself. She supposed if she supplied Seven with a little sulphuric acid it wouldn't be such a big deal... Teehee.

Shadow Puppet
5-15-05 Accessorizing?

The lantern sat peacefully where it was hung, seemingly unaware of the constant commotion in the room. Seven, since the day the lantern had arrived, had done nothing but scuffle around the room trying to get to the lantern.

The lantern, however, just sat. Day and night it sat, the greenish mist circling around it peacefully. For the most part. It did circle somewhat chaotically when Seven managed to get one of his socks stuck to it, though it returned to normal once Shadow rescued it.

* * *

Seven finally plopped down on the floor by Shadow's feet and pouted, crossing his arms over his chest, "I jus' wanna see it." He said, peering up at her.

Shadow stood there, looking down at the boy. She too was tired of standing around just making sure he didn't destroy the thing. "Ok." Shadow said, lifting Seven off the floor, "But only for a little while."

She walked over to the window and carefully pulled down the lantern, carrying it out of the room and placed it in the center of the dining room table.

The two of them sat at opposite ends of the table, Shadow watching Seven, and Seven watching his pretty. There was silence for a while, till Shadow softly cleared her throat.

Seven glanced up at her, finally taking his eyes away from it.

"Why don't you make something pretty for your lantern?" She asked, reaching across to ruffle Seven's hair. Seven wrinkled his nose a little and brushed away his guardian's hand.

"A pwetty fo' the wante'n?" He asked, tilting his head a little.

"Yeah!" Shadow replied, "Something really special that the lantern will be able to keep with it for a long time... maybe something useful too? Something to remember you by.." She trailed off, tapping her fingers together slowly.

Seven brushed his hand over his chin, thinking about this as well, his wings twitched slightly behind him. Then he grinned widely, "How 'bout a neckwace?" He beemed proudly. Necklaces were pretty, and he'd seen people make them before. He could make one out of stuff around the house! It could be something special, and interesting at the same time.

* * *

The lantern sat peacefully in the center of the table, whisps of green circled lazily. Seven had gathered things from around the house to try and make a pretty necklace for it, Shadow, of course, helped by picking up everything he dropped as he tried to carry everything around in his little arms.

A pile of would-be-junk was dropped onto the floor near the table; items including paperclips, bottle caps, bits of metal from broken contraptions, and much more. A few shiny, pretty things where mixed in with everything but most was covered in dirt or soot, much like Seven was most of the time.

He sat down and shuffled his hands through the pile, searching for just the right objects to attach to the necklace. He'd stand up from time to time to hold up something in front of the lantern before deciding whether or not to include it in the pretty.

* * *

Several hours passed, bits of failed necklaces lay strewn across the floor and in the garbage, but Seven still perservered. 'Course he had to ask Shadow for a little help finally after he couldn't quite figure out how to make something pretty.

She offered some suggestions about it and made a string for him to tie some beads and things to. "Maybe you could tie some of your feathers to it.. the ones that fall out." She suggested.

Seven nodded and plucked three feathers from his left wing, two small ones and a larger feather. "Wike dese ones?" He said, holding the feathers out to Shadow.

She laughed a little but nodded to the boy and went about glueing the smaller two feathers to some beads. She paused with the larger one and glanced at Seven as he watched intently.

Seven's hand was gripped around a particularly sooty bead, also larger than the others, and held it out towards Shadow, "This one special fo' pwetty." He nodded, urging his hand towards the white feathers.

Shadow carefully took the bead from him, brushing her thumb over the surface to see what it looked like beneath the sootyness. Her eyes widened slightly.

It was a particularly beautiful piece of Jadeite, carved into a smooth oval shape with a hole running from top to bottom. Shadow glanced from the bead to Seven and nodded, "It's perfect." She said and went about fixing up the rest of the necklace.
* * *

The necklace was primarily black and green, with a few pieces of beadlike metal attached. Shadow held it up towards the lantern and Seven clapped his hands enthusiastically.

"Pe'fect!" He cried, reaching his hands towards the lantern. He wanted to wrap the necklace around it.

User Image

Reluctantly, she pulled the lantern to the edge of the table and allowed the boy to attach the necklace to it, making sure he didn't crush the poor thing.

The mist seemed almost a little disturbed with the added accessory, but it settled back down and swirled lazily, around both the necklace and the lantern now.

Shadow smiled a little, "Ok, now we have to put it back, ok?"

Seven cried a little and held the lantern for a few moments longer, carefully whiping the soot from the beads, "Jus' a widdle wonger?" He asked, stroking the top of the lantern, leaving sooty finger prints over the surface.

Shadow shook her head a little and reached down, taking the lantern from the boy. It was time to give it a rest, "You've given it it's present, now it's time for it to go back up where it was..."

Quest Time!

Seven has, surprisingly, been rather silent and thoughtful lately. He has, so far as Shadow has seen, not actually done anything to cause an explosion, create chaos, or otherwise destroy something in the house in an attempt to rebuild it into something else entirely. If anything, the child actually seems down, absently poking at a rolled up piece of paper that he's been coloring on every so often.

... and then things from around the house start to disappear. Small things at first, like a watch, and then it escalates from there. Eventually the items that disappear start to catch Shadow's attention when she's not been paying to the Legend, for all that Seven has been behaving and not creating havoc. All of the missing items are found in Seven's room, thrown about everywhere, along with pieces of paper with drawings and figures, as if it was some idea for something the boy wanted to build and could not in the end.

From the beginning to the end, tell how the idea comes to Seven and he decides to work on it and how he is eventually found moody and upset about the fact he cannot complete something he seemed to be able to do so easily earlier on. Inspiration has been lost to this young Legend and how does he regain it? Is there anything that can help? Or does Seven remain without it, frustrated at failure?

:: Quest part 1 ::
Dissapearing Act

Seven's eyes glazed over as he finally managed to open them, pressed up in the corner between his toybox and some odd contraptions that had been mangled one way or another. He clutched a piece of paper in his hand and just stared at it, crayons scattered on the floor by his feet.

Why wasn't it working? Why couldn't he figure it out? Why...?

* * *

Shadow smiled as she placed the boy's dinner down infront of him in the living room, he'd been minding her rather well today and just stayed quiet watching cartoons. It was a welcome change from the usual messes he made, and certainly nothing was wrong, right? After all, he smiled and gave her a quiet thank you and went about eating his dinner like a good boy.

He was a bit quiet though. Maybe he's just growing up.

After Shadow had retreated to her office, Seven carried his half eaten meal to the kitchen and pushed his plate onto the counter. He double checked to make sure Shadow was busy with her work, then took his fork and retreated to his room.

* * *

Seven sorted through the items he'd hidden in his toychest; straws, wash rags, utensils, rocks from outside, sticks, some tools, pads of paper, a set of headphones, a watch, some jewelry, cds, a few cups and some bottle caps. Something inside him wasn't sorting right, despite all the things he'd pilfered nothing was coming to mind.

With a cry he closed his toy chest, turned and started kicking his crayons on the floor. It wasn't working! With all he'd learned and everything he'd been through, he'd managed to hit a wall and the ideas, the inspiration, everything that he was had ceased to be. He hadn't even managed to dirty his clothes for a week.

What was missing? What was happening? Why was everything going wrong... Had he really lost it?

To be born from creativity and inspiration and to have it all suddenly dissapear.

Seven clasped his chubby hand around one of his crayons, put it to paper and sat there, staring. Nothing came to his mind. It was blank. Just like the paper in front of him.

Was it gone forever? Was HE gone forever?

...

Seven's hand squeezed shut slowly and he dropped his head foreward, braids falling over his shoulders. The paper remained blank and balled up in his hand. A tear fell down his cheek, soaked into the carpet and dissapeared.

The boy had taken to pilfering whatever he could get his hands on when shadow wasn't watching, things he'd hope she wouldn't notice. ANYTHING that could possibly help.

He took pens from her desk, mechanical parts from the wrecked stove that had yet to be taken to the dump for disposal, telephone cords, scissors, staples, pop can tabs, candles... Anything really. He needed it all.

Something, somewhere... would bring him back.

:: Quest part 2 ::
Shadow takes Notice

Shadow had by that time panicked, throwing things out of boxes, out of drawers and all over the living room. Where had the rock dissapeared to?

"Casimir, where is it?!" She cried. He had been the one she left in charge of the thing, and when she returned it was gone!

Casimir just shrugged his shoulders, rubbing his sooty hand across his cheek. "I just took a nap for five minutes and it was gone." He said, looking as innocent as he possibly could. Of course he knew exactly where it was. He'd tricked Seven into taking it, he'd watched the boy take everything else around that wasn't worth anything.

And besides, Shadow was fixating far too much on the rock, she needed to pay attention to him! Casimir reached a hand up to tug on Shadow's shoulder, "Don't worry about it, I'm sure it's fine." He offered her the sweetest smile he could muster without trying to give away the fact that he'd practically destroyed the thing she'd been so obsessed over. Pay attention to me! He thought to himself, putting his other tiny hand on her opposite sleeve.

Shadow paused in her panic for a moment only to narrow her eyes, "You can't trick me Casimir, where is it." She stopped and held his shoulders, getting eye level with him. She knew that look of innocence only meant he was hiding something, and she wasn't going to let him get away with it. Even if he was just a child. There was something sinister inside him, and she knew it, he wasn't getting away with it this time. It was far too important.

* * *

Seven sat, tapping the half used crayon on the wrinkled papers by his feet. The rock was certainly interesting, but at the same time, not all that useful. Casimir had assured him that using it in his little 'games' would help him, but all it had done was swirl and float around, looking scared. Well.. As much as a rock COULD look scared.

He drew a line across the paper, his chin resting against his tiny hand. Why must everything be so difficult? He had been fine before, and then everything just... faded. What had happened to him?

He frowned and dropped his head onto the paper in his hand, wrinkling it against his forehead.

"Why... why... WHY!" He cried yanking the paper away in one quick movement, knocking the rock off his tiny play working table. His heart lept and his eyes widened as the rock fell to the floor.

It didn't quite hit the floor, but it came close enough, hovering centimeters above the carpet and forming itself to meet the impact. The rock practically fell apart, almost like splattering, forming several smaller peices before pulling back together, now in a mass of several small liquid blobs, swirling around eachother much quicker than before.

The rock appeared almost agitated, as if it would scream "Watch what you're doing!" If it was capable of producing words. Seven made a sigh of relief, placing a hand over his chest. The rock reminded him of Lun, whom he hadn't seen in a long time. Maybe he should make something for him? Something to keep him from blobbing around.

Seven reached his hand foreward to grab the rock but paused as the rock formed around his hand, trying it's best to keep out of the childs reach now. His eyes widened as if he'd reached an apifany.

Just as he was about to take hold of it, Shadow rushed in, scooping up the rock, which was now in several smaller peices floating around. "Seven!" She cried, "What were you doing?! You can't take things like this, you'll hurt it! You're not old enough!" Shadow cried, inspecting the liquid mass for anything out of the ordinary, aside from the many smaller forms it now had. As Shadow panicked the rock formed back to it's previous shape.

Shadow looked at Seven, puzzled, "Sweety...? Did you hear me?"

Seven just smiled and got up, hugging his arms around his guardian as much as he could, "Ish ok mommy, I'll take cawe o'b it." Shadow couldn't help but be shocked. She hadn't seen the boy smile in quite some time and she couldn't stay upset. "It'll be otay." He leaned back and offered Shadow another smile, one that said he'd fix things.

Shadow looked a little puzzled at first, but there was nothing new about that with Seven, he'd always been somewhat of a puzzle to her. She placed her hand on his head and brushed his slightly matted hair back, "It will?" She asked once more.

Seven gave a small nod of his head and lifted up his crayon, his grin only growing larger.

:: Quest part 3 ::
Fleeting Inspirations

Seven snagged the tape from Shadow's office, hopping back to his room to post the work he'd been doing. One by one he taped up the sketches of his idea all over his wall.

From the doorway, Casimir wrinkled his nose. He couldn't understand what his brother was doing one bit. It all just looked like messy crayon scribbles to him. Even when he tilted his head from side to side, nothing really seemed legible to him.

User Image

Seven, of course, liked it that way! He had developed a sort of code for his blue prints, something only he could decifer. It was of course, meant to be that way. He didn't want anyone else figuring out his plans before they were finished! Then it just wouldn't be a suprise. He heard the front door open and his face brightened, tiny hand letting the tape drop to the floor.

"Shawow!" He cried with a large grin, pushing past his brother to patter towards the front door.

"Yes yes, I'm home, is this what you needed?" Shadow pulled out a sort of rubbery material and a pair of safety scissors. Seven only replied with an eager nod, reaching his hands for the material. He needed something air tight but at the same time breathable, and he finally had an idea.

* * *

Earlier that morning. Seven had bound into her room, babbling half jumbled words that she couldn't understand. It didn't help, of course, that she was half asleep and he was a baby. It didn't seem to bother the child much though.

"Seven, slow down." She said, sitting up and wiping the sleep from her eyes.

"Goooop! Goo babeeh. Me make him wike me!" He said tugging on Shadow's shoulders. He had all the materials he needed except two, some scissors and some rubber material. "I nee somefing, otay Shawow? I nee... uhhhmmm..."

Suddenly he stopped, looking a little puzzled. He didn't really know what to call the stuff, but he knew what it was. He tugged on her arm some more, "Dis way dis way!" He cried, nearly falling over as he tried to tug Shadow with him.

Finally, once she got to her feet, he spread his tiny little wings and fled out of the room, expecting her to follow. Of course she did follow, but not quite as fast as he would have liked. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwn. "What is it Seven?"

She followed the boy into the bathroom, where he was tossing the little bathtoys about. Shadow leaned down behind him to see what he was doing and was met by a rubber ducky in the face. "Ah!" She jumped, blinking a few times to regain focus.

"Wha dis made o'?" he asked pointing to the ducky over and over again.

Shadow blinked slowly and took the little yellow critter from his hand, "Uhm, Rubber-"

Seven cut her off, "Wubber! Sewen nee' wubber!... Bwue wubber fo cwothes!"

Shadow tilted her head to the side, looking from the duck to Seven, the back to the duck. She peiced together what he had been yelling earlier and the ducky bit, "You're going to make a present for Puchiko's baby?" She asked, turning the duck over in her hand.

He gave her an enthusiastic nod. "Fo goo babeh!"

* * *

Seven splayed the materials across the floor, taking the marker pen he'd earlier taken from Shadow's room and drew several lines over the ruber material. The smile Seven had never left his face and he just worked.

For nearly two days straight he cut, attached, painted, glued, melted, snipped and sewed, with Shadow's help of course. Using himself to measure out the costume, slowly but surely his masterpeice came together. He could hardly contain himself, it was perfect! There was only one thing left to do... Test it.

:: Quest part 4 ::
Rebirth

It was finished! Finally, something that wouldn't blow up, something that could help someone, something useful! Something inspired. Perhaps not the most fun invention he'd ever had, but it was something good. It was a start! And it meant his fire was still there and burning brighter than ever.

He felt stronger, older, and bigger than life! Seven could feel that his journey had helped him grow a bit.

Lifting his arms up, he folded his wings around his sides, flattening them against his chest so he could try on the suit first. He may not have been exactly the same as his little goo friend, but he could at least test the dynamics of it.

Lifting one foot he slid it into the suit, pulling it up his leg before slipping the other foot into the suit. It was a bit of a tight fit on him, but that was to be expected, it was for Gloop after all. He pulled it up to his chin and buckled the suit closed starting from the bottom and working his way up. If you didn't know any better, you'd thing it was a white Star Trek uniform for a small child, minus the badge and some other things. It was, altogether, pretty spacey looking.

Attached to the back of the suit was a pair of fluffy little wings, purely for decoration, a little something he'd thought the boy would enjoy since he'd been so fond of Seven's when they met.

Seven bounced a little up and down, testing to see if he could feel any gaps in the material that weren't supposed to be there. The suit was built to allow air to get in in several different 'plug' units, while only letting it escape through the neck.

User Image

While it fit fine on him, he still needed something more like gloop to test it.

Several hours and ten boxes of Jello later, Seven managed to fill the suit from foot to neck and from all he could tell, it was perfect! He pushed his hand against the abdomen of the suit, and it remained almost totally in the same shape, leaving the suit still full of jello, and the jello intact!

Success!

Seven gave the suit over to Shadow and asked her to clean it, before pattering off back to his room. He finally had his strength and his groove back, and he had much more to do... much of which led to the Firedepartment visiting on the hour every hour.

* * *

Oh what fun! Explosions, Inventions, Classical music and big booms. Everything was back to normal! Much to Shadow's dismay... For now, she needed a new television... "At least he's sad anymore!"

:: Delivery, Delivery! ::

Seven toddled out of his room, one hand clasped around the tool belt he'd recently claimed from the hardware store. Shadow had wanted to go shopping for christmas presents that day, but when Seven saw how many useful things were in such a belt, she couldn't pry it from his little fingers... He HAD to have it.

His feet scuffled across the linolium of the kitchen floor towards the front doorway to check up on the strange noise he had heard. He pressed his ear up to the doorway, making sure his belt didn't fall down off his waist. What a strange rustling noise it was, it was something like the sound the fluffy things on his back made, but somewhat louder.

As he pressed his ear closer, his eyes shot downwards to a small orange envelope hitting his feet.

"OOooh!" He chirped, clasping his free hand around the rectangular object. Well this was interesting. Quickly, he dropped to his knees and pressed his face against the floor to peer under the door, only to see a pair of feet that quickly dissapeared.

How very strange! He said to himself, pushing back up to his feet. He shoved the envelope into his mouth and clutched both hands around his belt, assuring himself a quick retreat to Shadow's room without the unwanted fall on his face.

What could this strange orange thing be? It might be important, so he didn't want to just tear it apart and get another lecture from Shadow... that wouldn't be much fun!

No fun at all... But this envelope.. perhaps it could be fun! Only time would tell~

Seven
Seven grasped the small peice of paper in his hand, trying to decifer the jumbled words on it. "Ohnono, how did Shadow 'spect me to read this?" He questioned to himself, stoping in the middle of the sidewalk, "These directions make no sense!" He cried, one hand clasped to his pack over his left arm, the other still clasping onto the paper. He paused a moment and tilted his head from one side to the other before laughing to himself, "Doy!" He gently patted his right fist on his forehead, before flipping the directions right side up. "That makes a lot more sense." He continued down the path with a bemused look on his face, now completely sure of where he was headed. Shadow had to take Harlequinne into town with her, since she was still small and getting fairly clingy, so Seven asked if he could visit one of the other children. Of course Shadow was in a hurry and just grabbed the first name and adress she could find that belonged to someone that had a child or two. It didn't really matter to Seven, he was always up for anything. His wings crinkled a little as he came up to his destination, "Oh I can't wait to meet them." He said quietly to himself, grin only getting larger as he approached the designated doorway.

Waya
The doorway looked inviting enough, and as Seven approached the house there was much to be heard. Screams of children came from behind the closed door, something along the lines of 'Stop it Taima!' or 'Bricriu don't do that!' All in all the usual sibling spats that one house hold had. After a moment the sounds of fighting moved from the front of the house, disappearing a moment before back door opened. Now several children came running out of the house into the back yard, taking the squabble outside to relieve the parent's headache from all the noise. Inside the house was quiet, a shadow crossing the window as it's owner entered the front room to sit and relax. Who was it? Well it was hard to tell from the curtain that hung in the window.

Seven
Seven's grin only grew larger. The louder something was, that usually meant it was all the more fun! And this certainly wouldn't be any different. A few more strides and he was at the front door. Two swift knocks on the door announced his presence, the sound of young voices echoed around him and his wings jittered ever so slightly. He clasped his hand on his pack and waited for an answer, of course he hoped he'd be welcome, but he didn't really thing about it. Of course he would be! Shadow wouldn't have sent him over if he was uninvited! Freehand adjusted his toolbelt just enough to lift it back to it's proper place on his hips.

Waya
The person in the living room took notice of the door, no doubt raising from their seat with an inaudible grumble. The sound of foot steps could be heard approaching the door, then the lock releasing as the knob was turned and door opened. It was Waya in fact that stood behind the door, a brow raising at the sight of the other. "Um..." He blinked, brow creasing as a frown came to his face. "Are you here to fix something?" Sure, it might not have been the most polite way to ask, but why else would another person be standing outside the door with a tool belt? Waya couldn't recall Ballentine mentioning a repair man coming over, then again this wasn't a man but a child not much younger than he was. Confused, he reached up to scratch just behind one of his hears as he regarded Seven.

Seven
Seven shot out his hand and firmly grasped Waya's hand, "Nicetemeetcha I'm Seven!" He grinned, certainly Waya had heard about him from his sister, maybe he could even catch up with her a little bit... But then again, at this moment Seven was very intrigued by the person that had greeted him, "Have we met before? I don't think we have, I would have noticed you, or at least remembered these ears!" His eyes widened. Ears! Ohohoho ears! His bag fell to the ground as he forgot completely about for the moment that he wished to inspect them closer. Of course Taima had feathers for ears, but these were entirely different. They were like Sitka's ears kinda, but not quite. For most people Seven would be intollerably too close for comfort, face only centimeters away from Waya's. He had to get a good look at him!

Waya
Oh boy was Waya's personal space violated. Even the hand shake came to the boy as a shock, staring wide eyed while Seven shook it firmly. Though as the boy leaned in closer, his body got stiff and ridged. If he didn't move maybe the other would just... go.. away. Right? No, that never seemed to work in the past. He didn't want to seem rude by giving Seven a shove, but he would do his best to duck and step away.

"No, we haven't met." Waya said in a low stern voice, fixing his golden eyes into a glare at this new person. "Who are you?" He demanded, arms crossing over his chest as he cocked his hip to the side. Though that position didn't stay that way for long. Waya would uncross his arms and reach down and... pat the air? To the random stranger Waya would look as if he were petting an imaginary pet, but to Waya that pet was there.

Neshoba had come to the door when he felt Waya's discomfort, he had to keep an eye on his little legend of course. Though unless Waya said otherwise, he remained seated beside the boy, content to get the gentle pats to the head and the long strides down the back of his neck. Any dog likes to be pet once in awhile, and it was a good act to keep up.

Seven
"I'm Seven! Taima's older brother and Shadow's son, also related to Harlequinne but I doubt you've met her since she's only a baby and so is Siiri but she's got quite the mouth on her...." Seven paused for a moment, sensing the boys discomfort at last, now that his curiousity had died down ever so slightly. "Shadow had to take Harle to town with her so she sent me to meet you I think. He glanced down at his piece of paper, only long enough to get a scribbled name in his head, "You are Ayam?" He asked, offering him the same smile that had been plastered on his face since he arrived.

Waya
Waya gave a small roll of his eyes. Had he asked for an explanation or a life story? No. Already he could tell Seven was going to be quite the talkative boy, Waya could already feel the head ache coming back. "Taima's brother?" He had actually forgotten for a moment that Taima was like him and adopted into the family. It was quite easy to do with so many others in the house. He gave a small shake of his head as the boy tried to guess his name, "No, my name is Waya." He stated lightly, finally stepping aside and gesturing for Neshoba to move as well. "Come inside. I can get Taima for you if you're here for a visit. I'm sure she'd appreciate seeing you... maybe." he added the last bit as he pondered it a moment. She really didn't seem to appreciate anyone's uninvited visits.

Seven
Seven snatched up his bag and stepped inside, pondering the thought of reuniting with Taima, but he shook his head a little. He knew she could jolt him senseless and he really didn't want that right at the moment, "Actually I came to see you! I asked Ma' if I could visit some other legends kids since it's been a really really long time... Last person I really visited was Goo~" He sighed a little, remembering how terribly interesting the other legend was, with all the goo limbs and swirling planets and things. Of course Waya was quite interesting too. But he seemed a bit more aloof than the other boy, which would mean it would take a bit of convinsing before he'd be able to do any sort of experimenting on him. "Well anyways, everyone of us are so interesting, and I just want to meet as many as I can.. though I don't really get to that often. So it's a really great change of pace that I get to come here and meet you!" He grinned. Grinning didn't usually help the situation, but it always made him feel great! So he just kept smiling.

Waya
"Came to see me?" Waya asked and once more he looked shocked. He couldn't help but be surprised that someone he didn't even know came all that way to meet him. Specially that someone being a stranger. Surely he heard wrong, he wanted to come and visit Taima. But as Seven continued that confused looked turned more into an unsure one. When Seven finished speaking Waya had to ask, he just couldn't keep it inside. "Goo?" That he had to have heard wrong.

"Anyway... um...." He frowned again, shutting the door since Seven had entered the house. "Remove your shoes, mother doesn't like dirt in the carpets... We can go on up to my room if you want? Or the living room..." He of course was hopping Seven would choose the later of the two, his room was a personal haven of course. "Anything to drink?" Great, now to act like the perfect host again.

He tore his eyes away from Seven after a moment to look down at a blank spot in the hall, "No, you can't. Do me a favor and turn off the television in the living room?" He would watch, turning and drifting his eyes with the invisible movement of the wolf as Neshoba left the doorway. Seven would feel a gentle breeze and a brush of fur against him as Neshoba passed. A moment later the television sound disappeared in an instant as it was in fact shut off.

Waya's attention was once more on Seven, and he finally stood there taking in the other's appearance. He looked normal enough, and those wings were actually pretty cool. He had seen quite a few legends with wings and it made him wonder why he himself didn't have a pair of his own. Oh well, he had Neshoba.

Seven
Seven shivered ever so slightly at the unexpected change in the air around him, flexing his wings out before folding them back behind him once more. He looked thoughtful, smacking his lips a little. He was thirsty, but then again, he was very curious about this new legend, "I'd love to see your room!" As nosey as he was, he hadn't really seen many other people's rooms, and he was quite interested in teh domocile of a fellow legend. He couldn't help but glance from time to time at waya's ears.

Suddenly he piped up, after considering the screaming earlier, "Do your ears bother you? Like... things are really loud and hurt them?"

Waya
Damn, he had to have chosen the room. Waya thought to himself as he gave a faint nod. "Alright then..." he said as he forced a smile onto his face, though the smile looked as polite as ever. "To my room then." He gestured with his hand towards the staircase that was at the end of the hall, spinning up to the second floor. Waya didn't want for Seven to take the lead but instead lead him on. After all Seven didn't know where they were going.

As he started up the stairs, he heard the question and frowned a bit. "Yes... sometimes things do..." Glancing over his shoulder, he made sure that Seven was following him and listening to his answer and not trying to tug his tail off or some other weird thing. He wouldn't have put it past the other after that situation at the door. "My siblings shouting back and fourth sometimes give me headaches." He explained simple enough, not feeling the need to go any further with it.

Rounding the top of the stairs he took the other across to his room, pushing the door open and then stepping aside to let him in first. "Just don't snoop in my drawers please." It really wasn't a request but a rule Waya expected to be followed. His personals were scattered in the dresser and night stand drawer. Though is mind flickered to the journal he kept hidden under his pillow and hoped the other wouldn't find it before Waya could get to it and store it away.

Seven
Seven's smile only got larger at the response Waya gave, perhaps he could get on his good side quite easily. "You know, I could probably construct something that could fit in your ear and dim down background noise." He paused, nodding a thank you as he followed Waya into his room. For now he was more interested in inventing than snooping. "Of course I'd have to experiment a little teeeeeny bit, but I think it would be fairly easy to remedy your problem." He grinned, one hand instinctually rested on his toolbelt, like a security blanket.

Thoughts were wirling through his head as he considered materials and things to help the other legend out. His ears, of course, weren't as sensative as the other's, not as large, and not placed as high on the head. He couldn't completely imagine what it would be like to have such extraordinary hearing, but he could imagine what screaming would feel like. Probably similar to the explosions he'd been close to before, only longer and sharper.

Waya
Those ears in question would fold down to his head in a protective manor, Waya giving the other legend a faint smile. "Really... thank you but no. I'd rather you didn't experiment on me... or my ears." Already the worst possibilities were popping into his head one by one, somehow going deaf was becoming the most popular outcome his mind could create. Nope, defiantly not going to let the other experiment with his hearing.

Shutting the door once the two were into the room, he strolled along over to his bed where he promptly sat down on. The room itself was quite bare of anything other than the necessities. Waya just not one to collect knick knacks. However a book of shamanism rested on the night stand beside the bed. A shelf on the wall did hold other things such as feathers, vials of liquids and dusts and a few bones decorated the wooden shelf. Everything there were items the book requested to use.

Waya just watched Seven with a look that said, 'this is it...' Waya didn't feel the need to say it, allowing Seven to take in the boring room on his own.

Seven
Seven found himself drawn to the shelf, examining from a small distance the vials and bones. Ohoho they were quite interesting! He wondered what they were for but had more pressing issues on his mind at the moment. "Nonono, not experimenting on you, experimenting with different prosthetic... things." He smiled, reaching into his belt, "Like, you know those things that old people wear to help them hear better? Well..." he fiddled with his tools a bit, simply out of habit, "The same concept could be taken to help you hear less. I've made lots of different things!" He wouldn't, of course, mention that many of his earlier projects had blown up, but that was all in the past surely... he hadn't blown anything up for at LEAST.... a week.

He grinned and moved his eyes back to the viles, reaching a hand up towards them, "What are these for? They're fascinating."

Waya
"Still..." Waya started as he kept an eye on Seven. "I'd rather you didn't. It's not as bad as you are probably thinking it to be...." He said, scrunching his face a bit as he thought of it. He just had to fold his ears down and ignore them, that usually allowed them to get it out of their system before he had to listen again. Only indoors did the sound effect him from the echoing against the walls, outside the sounds obviously drifted away.

As Seven reached for the bottle Waya found himself tensing. "Don't drop it..." he said with a bit of fear in his voice. He really didn't want to return to the beach for sand again. "I use certain things when I go out and practice my Shamanism. I really am getting better... Though I'm still not good enough. Neshoba keeps reminding me of that whenever something goes wrong." He snorted a bit and rolled his eyes. "So... you just invent stuff all the time? I suppose that's handy. No one here can do that.. Bricriu breaks things, Taima shocks people Sayid steals things and there's so many weird things my siblings do."

Seven
Seven nodded as he pulled one of the vials closer to his face for a better view, "Oh I do much more than invent things, I study as much as I can, and watch the stars.. paint sometimes and sculpt, Shadow's not much of a fan of a lot of what I do, but she doesn't hold me back either." He held the vial infront of his face so he could peer through the glass at Waya, before pulling it out of his line of sight, "It looks like you do some experimenting yourself, what is Shamaism?" He asked, quite curious about this new word. He'd have to go on a library run later to find out all the facts about Waya's field of study.

"I use vials for mixing compounds and acids and other chemicals, but I don't usually mix sand and rocks and bones..." Admitidly he'd mostly only worked with things of a mechanical nature, while this form of study seemed equally interesting, though a bit more chaotic. Chaos wasn't bad, it just made things more interesting, perhaps he'd have to try this so called.. Shamaism. Taking Waya's word to heart, he held the Vial in his hand tightly but gently, as to not harm it. He didn't want to ruin anything he'd started with the new boy. Especially one so interesting. Then again, who wasn't?

Waya
The situation was pondered for a moment. Should he give the boy the dictionary answer or ... Yes, the second way was better. "Here." He said as he rose up to his feet, taking the one step needed to his night stand to lift the book on shamanism up into his hand. It was thick and covered in a leather binding. He turned to face the other, offering a small smile as he offered the book out to his guest. "you can take a look if you'd like, just be careful with the pages. Its an old book... "

Seven
Seven reached for the book at first, but stopped to put the vial back up on the shelf, almost forgetting about it entirely. Once it was secure he returned to fetching the book, offering Waya a large grin. He took the book from him and set it down on his bed, shifting to kneel on the floor so he could read it and also be careful with it, "I've worked a lot with mechanics and stuff, but I haven't really done anything with bones or sand or.." He stopped as he palmed through the book, loosing himself in thought as he skimmed over a couple of the pages. "Hmmm hmmmmmmmmm~" he pondered as he read over some of the pages. It seemed to speak freequently of spirits, nature, and the links between them. He skimmed his eyes over a part that mentioned healing and cocked his head. He didn't really understand what all this spirit talk was about, but he was more than willing to learn.

"Very VERY Interesting!" He chirped, glancing at Waya to offer another curious smile.

Waya
Whlie the other was reading the book, Waya took that moment to shift away and snag his journal from under his pillow. He was quick to open his night stand drawer and slip the journal into the drawer to hide it from uninvited eyes.

"I'm glad you find it interesting." He stated as he shut the drawer, sitting back down to glance over at Seven once more. "Perhaps you can look it up later with your mother? Or maybe you can come by some other time and practice with me.... Though it's quite difficult right in the beginning. Many of the spirits were upset with me as I did a lot of things wrong...."

Seven
Seven laughed a little, "Really? I could practice with you? That would be really awesome!" He started thinking to himself about angry spirits, though the thought didn't really bother him at all. "There's really nothing wrong with doing it wrong, it's all part of the invent-er... It's all part of learning. I mean, I blew up lots of stuff before I actually did anything useful, it's why I always got soot on my clothes.. Things go wrong but we learn from em right? I'd love to try sometime this... Spirit stuff. It seems alot differnt from what I'm used to but, I'm always open to new things." He glanced over at the shelf, "Plus your tools are really neat." He chuckled quietly to himself, then looked back at Waya.
