Thought I'd add some of the unit descriptions here, seeing as I'll be referring to them for quite a while. If you wish to add your own devices, past events or whatever to the RP, post them here if you think people need an explanation.

'flandamerite' - the code-word for a mysterious substance used to power most the main base (see below). Possibly sentient, possibly dangerous. A.k.a. "Flanny", and its true name, which is kept unsaid for fear of it being leaked. Names, after all, have power.

'gauntlets' - a pair of thick, robotic gloves on Allen's wrists. They contain statistical data, weaponary including basic machine guns and small RPGs, and something else, used only in an emergency.

The Bases -
Incendiax has 7 bases throughout the world. Many of them have remained undiscovered since their construction, but every so often they come under attack. Their names, in order of importance:

Crescendo (where everybody is a.t.m.)
Allegretto
Arpegio
Fortissimo (attacks on a regular basis)
Vibrato
Lahrgetto (destroyed under mysterious circumstances)
Falsetto*

*As the name may imply, Falsetto is an exception in that it is not actually a base. It is merely a hollowed out cave, indistinguishable from its peers, but set to detonate if anybody ever hits the center.

The Defences -
Aria - a basic footsoldier android, capable of standard damage on par with most human soldiers.
Tone - a heavy-support android, standing at around 8 feet. Armed with a rocket launcher for larger, more cumbersome opponents.
Metronome - standard anti-personel cannons, all bases have them for external fire only. Shrapnel is the bullet of choice, but they can be fitted with napalm or uranium if necissary.
Synaesthesa - mechanical battle-suit, pilot is absolutely essential. Manual controls available, but is best used by Arias and Allen himself by connecting straight to their mainframes. Standing around 20 feet, they hold a wide array of melee and ranged weapons. The style of movement is, unlike Tones, much more humanesque, and the form is likewise, appearing much like a large suit of armour.

I thought I'd better go over some of the standard Incendiax weaponary that may be mentioned in the course of this tale. It's mostly the same as normal militia gear, with a couple of extras.

Footsoldiers-
All Arias and human combatants carry with them at all times a small semi-automatic pistol. It fires .45 ACP shells from an autoloader clip, which holds sixty. The design itself is Incendian, though it bares many a similarity to the Ruger P90. The I.45, though, has specially added clips for laser sights, and a weighed butt for added melee prowess.
Aside from that, stored in the barracks themselves, are the standard-issue assault rifles. These come in the form of a carbine 5.56mm ammunition launcher, with a line-action reload and optional full-auto setting. This IC56 is notable for its shotgun and sniper functions, all of which can be selected with the flick of a switch.
For worst case scenarios, all soldiers must also carry with them a unique Incendian invention, the Gauche AssistoXiphoid (or 'AX' for short). The design is that of 2 rectangles of metal, about a foot long from the hilt up and 2 inches wide, with a slightly smaller electronic unit inbetween. This creates a high-density field of electricity, which can paralyse any possible opponents. The sheer weight of the device means months of training are spent learning how to wield one properly, but creates a fiendish weapon in close combat. Matarael carries on specialist missions a modified version, a BAX (b*****d AssistoXiphoid), modelled, not surprisingly, on the hand-and-a-half swords of the 1500s. It is as tall as he is, and capable of short ranged fire when flicked in a whip-like motion, or pushed outwards with one hand on the 'blade'. He doesn't carry it around, it's heavier by far than the Gauche, and rumours among the squads tell of Matarael's inhuman strength that he uses to fight his foes.

Heavy Support-
The turrets on the outside of the Incendiax bases, the Metronomes, have multiple functions. All are capable of 122mm Artillery shells, including smoke, flare, incendiary, flak and HE. Range is impressive with the external models, the E.Metro, and can carry shells up to a mile and a half. Internal models, I.Metros, have only 51mm shells, of smoke, illumination and anti-personel varieties. They also have attached M4 machine guns for added firepower at close range. The I.Metro will only be visible in a crisis, during which it will spring from the side.
Synaesthesas carry slightly more varied weapons, such as ATGMs, SAMs and small nuclear warheads. They, too, have M4 machine guns, though more than the single turrets, and also have a variety fo grenades, such as chaff, for more technical warfare. Little is known about the S-Shot, a device hidden in the S-1 prototype as part of testing, but it is said to rely on masses of energy for either an astronomical laser blast or temporary enhancement of all features of the mech.

This post will be updated as more weapons are added.

Here is a chronological history of the Incendiax bases, focussing on Crescendo in particular. Time is measured, so not to get too confusing, from AF0, which marks the founding (hence 'After Founding') of the Incendiax Corporation. This is, after all, a fictional RP, so accuracy isn't necissary.

AF0 - Crescendo starts life as a small factory just outside a city center (unnamed for story-telling purposes).
The first Arias are designed, under the supervision of the early employees, headed up by Allen, Cyriel and Matarael. Production of first 10 units begins.
The first 10 Arias, known from henceforth as Dissonance, are finished. Each member of Dissonance has an individual skill, and advanced, free-thinking AI. At this time, the national government goes to war with Incendiax.
The Siege of Crescendo, lasting 14 months. The government outnumbers and outguns Incendiax, and many lives are lost.

AF1 - Dissonance performs a circuit malfunction, seemingly at their own will, to override their self-preservation systems. In the ensuing combat, they are all destroyed but the core Incendiax team is allowed to flee from the site. The Siege ends.
Crescendo is reinstigated in its current location. Restarting operations is slow at first, owing to the difficult positioning of the base, but in time Arias start mass production. These are the Aria.5 models, cheaper and without AI.

AF2 - The first Extension, when Crescendo is extended down into the bedrock. At this point, it is a seemingly inconspicuous government defense structure, and bypasses all checks for the time being. Extra labs and testing areas are created underground.
Allen's gauntlets are designed and built, though at this point they are mostly for show.
A new, secret employment scheme is instigated, bringing 400 new faces to Incendiax. Amongst them is rookie biologist Evangeline Roberts and eccentric tea boy Marcus.
Founding of Allegretto some 20km from Crescendo.

AF3 - The second Extension, bringing the sides of the underground complexes out. Progress is halted, however, when an unexpected discovery is made.
All reports show that 99% of research schemes are put on hold, leaving only one entitled 'FS System'.

AF4 - Allen's gauntlets reach version 2.3, their current model. The S-1 prototype enters construction. A young scientist named Anne enters the company, showing promising conduct.
Defense becomes a high priority, and the first I.Metros are secreted inside the complex.
Founding of Arpegio 20km from Crescendo, 40km from Allegretto.
The third Extension, this time reaching upwards like a castle. Covert strikes begin on Crescendo, all of which are dispelled.

AF5 - Founding of both Fortissimo (Crescendo's old location) and Vibrato (far from enemy territory).
The national government recommences attacks on Incendiax property, and are held at bay. The S-1 Prototype enters phase 2 construction. A research scheme known at the Aria2 program is added to the records.
Allen leaves for Fortissimo, despite warnings, to supervise Aria2 research.

AF6 - The founding of Lahrgetto near Fortissimo. The concentration is on internal defense, like a giant egg.
'FS System' research progresses to the next level, the S-1 prototype reaches Phase 3.
Anne progresses to assistant head of research in Crescendo. Marcus stays where he is.
Founding of Falsetto near Vibrato.

AF7 - For 2 hours 10 minutes and 26 seconds, all surveillance in Crescendo goes offline. Allen performs a forced march back in this time, and power is restored. The research deck is quarantined for five months, and all records of Evangeline Roberts are erased. Anne becomes new head of research.
Tone construction begins, plans for Gauntlet v3 are added to the research list, to be started once research recommences. Allen remains in Crescendo.
Security alerts become frequent in Lahrgetto.

AF8 - Lahrgetto is subjected to intense levels of energy from the inside, causing a massive explosion that kills the entire staff. The records name it The Rejection.
National government blames Incendiax for performing nuclear-based weapons reseach, and the attacks intensify.
S-1 is completed, and shipped to Fortissimo. Allen is not seen for 8 months, remaining inside his office. Crescendo undergoes next-gen defense schemes.

AF9 - Allen reemerges, acting as if nothing happened. Research begins again, Aria2 is scrapped and Gauntlet v3 is placed at the top of the priority list.

We might need some plot devices people! If we want a long-term RP (which we do) we may need to plan ahead to future chapters. I really hope this works out, it's a cool idea!

Anyway, Chapter 1 is all about Flandamerite, which I think VA made up on the spur of the moment (don't deny it, sir). Anywho, it will end after, well, who knows! But it will end. Rest assured.
Now, the other chapters will need some other ideas. Here are some, feel free to post some of your own.

A rival corporation (we could have everyone play other characters!)
Aliens!
The government's secret weapon
The secret behind the Arias (Well, this one can easily be done as the series progresses. I have an idea for it, and will try to get it included 'cos I think it's cool)
The Synaesthesias
Someone gets an incurable disease!
Someone gets married!
A new employee (would kinda need another member)

That's all I got.

I know someone who could join (loopylouise) as a new character after a while, she's kinda busy atm so mebbe we could invite her for the next chapter, if that's alright?

Very well, if it would help speed the plot along.

Anon letter to Evangeline Roberts

Eva,

You know what you are doing, I’ve seen the plans and the precautions you have taken with your Aria. There’s no reason to change them, not yet. The S-1 are amplifiers, as you well know, you are giving a pseudo-sentient being power, absolute power, and you know what that does, don’t you.

Limit the power you give your creatures, Eva, they will be a problem for you if you don’t, it will start with the enemy but that’s still not good. They will get at you from inside and crush you all. Be warned, Eva, (and you, Anne, yes, Anne, I know you’ll read this eventually) if the S-1s get out of control, I will have to put a stop to them, but not before it’s too late.

See you in 3.
