Inside Sarah and Amber’s room…
When I had gotten there, I found Jade trying to comfort Amber, and put my hand on her shoulder. “Amber, please, listen to me, its not what you think…” I started to say until she smacked my hand away. “Why would you do this?!...Why Sarah, Why?!...Don’t you think that what we’ve gain onboard this ship is good enough?!...Do you really want to go back to your old life?!” Amber said between sobs. “She thinks that were going to be like that forever…That explains why she’s so upset. I have to tell her everything, but she may not listen to me…” I thought “Amber, please listen to me…” “No! You are still concerned with going back to the way you were, and I thought that these last two years aboard this ship would’ve changed you, but it seems like it hasn’t. All you care about is your previous life, and I want nothing to do with you!” She screamed and stomped out the door, nearly knocking Kaze over. I just fell onto the bed and started crying myself. Kaze stood at the door way looking at Jade, as if asking what had just happened. “Kaze, go find Amber, and explain this to her…please for all our sakes,” Jade said calmly. He nodded, turned and left the room, following Amber. “Its okay, Kaze will straighten things out with her, everything will be alright,” Jade murmured. “Really?” I asked. All Jade could do was nod in reply.
On another part of the ship…
I had been following Amber all over the ship, and finally managed to corner her in the gymnasium. “Amber, listen its all a big misunderstanding,” I said calmly, trying to keep the situation from becoming violent, which with Amber involved, it could very well become one very quickly. “NO ITS NOT! Sarah wants to leave, so that you and Jade can live peacefully without us bothering you!” She screamed. I just slapped her straight across the face, hard enough for her to fall to the ground. Normally, I wouldn’t hit a girl under any circumstances, but for some reason, that value was lost to me in that split second. “Amber shut up and listen to what I’m going to tell you right now!” I screamed at her. This made her jump, because I had never treated any woman like this before, especially Jade, Sarah or herself. “Sarah, is doing this so that the both of you can have a traditional wedding, because do you think that any chapel, and I mean any chapel will allow the two of you to marry. She’s doing this so that you can actually get married, among all of your family and friends,” I barked. “If you would have let her finish what she was saying, the formula only lasts for two days, and she has enough so that the two of you can stay like that for a twenty-day honeymoon.” Sarah and Jade had walked in during the end of it. Amber just looked from me, to Jade and finally settled on Sarah. “Is that true?” She asked quietly. “Yes, he’s not lying,” Sarah replied. “He and Jade are going to split one so they can come to the wedding and stay for the rest of the day. Then they’re going to go off for their wedding, while we do what we please with the precious time that has been given to us. Please say your fine with it?” All that Amber could do was nod in approval, then embrace Sarah. I motioned to Jade for us to exit. We left the room as silently as we could, and walked off towards the bridge, both of us silent. Upon reaching the bridge, she slowly started the engines towards earth, but only fast enough so that a faint hum resonated throughout the ship. “Do you even know where we’re supposed to go?” Jade asked, breaking the silence. “I have a faint idea of where we need to go, before I became a bounty hunter, I used to be a smuggler. I crashed on an island near theirs somewhere in the south-pacific. I don’t remember the exact location of the island, but I have a faint idea to where it is.” I replied. “When they’re done in there I hope they don’t mind assisting us in locating exactly where we need to go.” “I’m sure they will, but I’m more worried about what the reaction to us by the other fairies on the island will be. I mean to see this ship approaching would probably scare them. And if that happens, I can imagine that we won’t exactly have a warm reception, and neither will they. So what are we supposed to do?” Jade wondered. I wasn’t exactly sure what to say myself, for she did have a point, if we touched down on the beach, their would be no chance of either of Sarah and Amber getting married, much less being accepted back into their own world from being exiled. “The answer is really simple actually,” Said a voice. “Jade, you know what we should do?” I asked astonished, cause I though she was just as confused as I was. “I didn’t say anything…” She replied. The door to the bridge hissed open, and both Sarah and Amber were standing there in the attire we had found them in. “There’s a way to signal to the island that there a problem was encountered during a patrol. We’ve done it before when a very rare insect emerged from its den and started to terrorize the water sprits.” Sarah said rolling out a section of the south pacific. “If I’m right about this, there should still be leftover radiation from when you detonated your ship.” “We signal the watch from the center of the radiation that we are returning with humans that can keep everything a secret, and that we have discovered a way for us to return to our original size,” Amber replied. “Hopefully, they’ll signal back an acknowledgement, allowing you to land the ship in a little bay area.” “Sounds like a plan to me, lets hope it will work. Let’s see now…need to boost the Geiger counter’s range…” I said while tinkering with the sensors to make it easier to locate the area I was shot down at. Jade went off with Sarah so she could explain what she’s going to be experiencing when she shrunk, and some medicine needs to take with the formula so that shrinking process doesn’t physically or mentally damage her. Amber however stayed behind, which I found odd because she normally went everywhere with Sarah, but I just assumed that she had already been briefed on everything. “Um…Kaze can I ask you to do something for me?” Amber asked timidly. Now I was a bit shocked, because this is something I had never seen Amber act like, and on top of that she was asking me for a favor. “What would you like me to do?” I replied. “Could you be…um…be my…Bes…Bersh...Besht,” She stuttered. She stopped and drew in a large breath. “Could you be my bestman at my wedding?” I was a little stunned by what she was asking me to do, for I had no clue how this was going to be received by the rest of her kind, but regardless I nodded in reply. She just squeezed by head and left the bridge skipping joyfully. The Tear’s computer queried me on my action. “Do you think it was not the right choice?” I asked back. It showed its response in a small window. “So you by your logic, I should not have accepted her offer because I lacked the knowledge and the ability to possibly perform the requested duty, am I correct?” I replied. The bridge slowly moved up and down.. “But, you forget my cybernetic friend that she is a person to whose happiness I care for. You could not exactly understand what I mean by this in its integrity. You may be programmed to respond negatively on what people ask of you, or positively as well. No offense to you, but that just a programmed response to which has to be a logical decision. God damn it, I’m not too good at trying to explain my actions, and the fact that you’re having a hard time grasping human behavior doesn’t exactly help my explanation either,” I rambled. It didn’t respond to me, instead it returned to what its last task was. This is what I get for giving this ship several different A.I., for it had begun to develop a personality, which could either help or hinder us.
It had taken me some time to make the adjustments to the Geiger counter so that it could detect whatever small amount of radiation remained. Although Sarah managed to find it easier by looking for a quarantined area of the ocean, once again making proving maps are useful. “Sarah, all stop. I need time to figure out a way to approach the island without frightening the inhabitants,” I ordered. The ship groaned to a halt, and hovered centimeters over the water creating small waves. “Set us down, as gently as possible creating the smallest disturbance possible.” Sarah set the ship down so gently, I thought that she thought of it as her own child. Well, that should have been a given, this ship was their second home, it was the only other place where they were actually treated no different than anybody else, except for those who wished to pick a fight with us that is. We had set the ship down about half a mile away from the island. “Why are we so far out? We’ve got the clearance to land in the bay. We should be over there, that’s were they’re expecting us to be,” Amber complained. “Simple…This ship is over 350 meters in length and 100 meters wide. If you haven’t noticed that small bay is not even close to half the size of the ship, The Phoenix simply wouldn’t fit in such a small area. So that’s why we’ll be taking one of the small shuttles we have in hangar and use it. It should be able to land without any problems, and we can just skim the surface of the water, it’ll make going and coming back a lot less troublesome for the wildlife living in the area,” Sarah replied giving her companion a bop on the head. “Dummy, you never do think do you?” Amber just grumbled something under her breath that only ARX managed to catch. He almost started to repeat it when Amber glared at him…Either it was the glare or the plasma welder she was holding in her hand. But which ever it was it stopped him. We decided that ARX would also come along, but remain on the shuttle just to pilot it. The ship would be running an auto-defense program, so that she wouldn’t be left out in the open for pirates or space forces to ‘claim’. “Remember, the effect will only last 24-hours after taking it, but I’m not guaranteeing anything, so be ready to bolt back to the shuttle first chance you get,” Sarah finished instructing. Both Amber and I downed the meds, then the serum, and then we started to feel a slight tingle. It was surprising, we were shrinking down to the size of a fairy, but we felt no pain whatsoever, instead it was kinda pleasant. Before we knew it, all four of us had shrunk. “That was odd…I thought it be more painful than that,” Jade said. “It actually would be, but the meds you took work against that, so instead of pain it’s a pleasurable experience,” Sarah explained “Now for us to get over there….I’ll carry Jade, and Amber you can carry Kaze, is that alright?” “Sarah, you seem to forget about something…” I said, hovering over them with assistance to my jetpack. “I’ll carry Jade, so you two can fly side by side.” Amber looked exceptionally overjoyed at that prospect, so I lifted Jade up, nodded to Sarah and Amber that we were ready, and ARX opened the door. “Boy, did I miss this feeling…Its comforting to know that I can return to it, even though it’s for a limited time,” Amber said, Sarah just nodded in agreement. Jade however had fainted from just the sight of this larger world; guess it was a bit too overwhelming. “Can I ask both of you something?” I asked. They nodded in reply. “Why didn’t you tell us this before hand? It would’ve nice to know, beforehand so we could prep ourselves for this,” I asked. “Kaze, wasn’t you who said ‘All the preparation and training you do won’t ever fully prepare yourself for anything, the best option is to experience it head on.’?” Sarah replied. Well I was stumped, I never had thought they took that seriously, then turned actually manage to apply it in reality. But this however, couldn’t have been reality, the island looked too magnificent to be something in reality, it had to be fantasy. Amber pinched my cheek and pulled it out letting it snap back in place. It hurt a small bit. “This…can’t be true…there’s no way this is true…It has to be a dream,” I stuttered. Well I was hoping for a reply, but I wasn’t expecting Amber to help me out, by kicking me off the ship. Luckily for both Jade and I, the jetpack self-activated when it detected an airflow running through its turbines. So I just hovered there, waiting for Sarah and Amber to lead me to the queen for our introductions. Although I was a bit uneasy about it all, it couldn’t be this easy to gain access to such a secure place without something to be done about it. Well…sad to say, I guessed right, can you say military escort, jeez, these males need to watch their steroid intake, seriously, anymore and all they’d be is one gigantic muscle, although that makes it easier to mess with their heads. We approached a set of huge double doors, undoubtedly the entrance to the queen’s chambers. Sara turned around. “You two wait here, we’re going to go in and attempt to explain everything, okay?” She explained. “Okay, go do what you have to,” Jade said. Sara and Amber proceed inside, and it seemed like it was going good…until we heard the queen scream something neither of us could make out, except for the word “outsiders” “Uh-oh…This could be trouble, Jade stay close,” I whispered. The queen appeared on a overlooking balcony and attempted to glare us down. She screamed something out to the guards whom pointed obsidian pikes at us. “You want to dance? Sure, Jade stay with me, time to have some fun,” I said chuckling evilly under my breath. Jade stayed close and two of the guards charged us, to which were quickly put down. Jade picked up one of the fallen pikes and tried to hold it put it was too heavy for her. I was busy sending guards flying into the walls, until a familiar whip caught hold of me. “Oh no….” I thought before feeling the 100 megavolts of electricity zap through me. “YOUR ROYAL HIGHNESS; I CALL FOR A BATTLE OF ACCEPTANCE!” Amber screamed out. Jade inched closer to Sara. “What’s this battle all about?” Jade asked. “Oh, what happens is that both of you fight against an unknown foe or foes in a fight to the death, if you two win then you shall be accepted, and well…I don’t think I need to say what’ll happen if you lose,” Sara explained. Jade was horrified. The queen had shouted something back, and four guards began to take me and jade to a holding cell. “Amber, Jade can’t fight against these mammoths…She’ll die for sure, and I’m positive Kaze will vaporize this whole area if that happens,” Sara whispered to Amber. “Oh…I forgot about that…hmm…Hold on a second,” She replied and rushed over to me. “What do you say if you take on the country’s finest and most powerful warriors non-stop for both you and Jade?” I knew what she meant, and I nodded. She flew up to the queen and I assume asked her about the terms of engagement. I tried to take a look at the queen, but fell unconscious cause of the shock Amber had given me. “Kaze, Wake up…Wake up! Your match is about to begin!” Sara screamed into my ear. I was up and standing pretty quickly. Sara unlocked the cell and led me to the arena. “Lucky for you the queen agreed to just you fighting, but sadly you’ll have to use our weapons until you can locate yours scattered on the battlefield,” Sara explained. “There is no time limit, and anything goes, so be careful your opponents have been out there for a while scheming on how to bring you down.” “Thanks for the info; do I get any starting weapon?” I asked. Sara shook her head. “Amber stupidly made a bet with the queen that you aren’t that weak, so you don’t get a weapon to start with, so you’re in for some trouble,” She replied. “Remind me later to dock her pay…How many are there?” I asked “Around 10 opponents, but be warned they are the elite warriors, one alone can break a fully grown adult male scissors beetle in half with little or no effort. Just promise me you’ll be careful,” She finished up. I nodded in replied and stepped out into the arena, seemed like a forest floor more likely. “So lets see…They’ve taken all of my equipment, chance are that some of them are using it, area littered with traps, plenty of good ambushing places, and me trying not to kill any of them…This may be a bit more difficult than I thought…” I thought. I heard a buzzer go off and assume it’s was the start buzzer and made a dash for the tall grass to use a hiding place for the time being. I barely managed to hide when three of the warriors flew over head. “Damn, that was too close…These guys are faster than I thought, best take them on one at a time, now to get my first ‘kill’,” I thought to myself…

Up above the battlefield in a private box…
“So my dear Amber, what makes you think this man can actually succeed in this task? He barely avoided the first patrol, and look at the wages, its 10,000 to 1 odds that he’ll pull it off, and yet you’re still betting on him? Please explain this to me,” The queen asked. “If I did, then you would call this whole thing off and he wouldn’t have any respect killing one of our elite warriors, but I’ll double my wager that he can take out the whole lot,” Amber replied. “Bet with what? You’re out of everything you have already, what more do you have left?” The queen asked. “If I lose…We’ll undergo the ritual of banishment,” Amber replied. “Then if I lose, Not only will I allow them to remain here, they will forever be welcome, both you and Sara will have the exile removed, and I will allow the two of you to marry. Do we have a deal?” The queen explained holding out her hand, Amber took it, confirming the bet they both just made. Little did anybody know, but an army of fire ants were swiftly marching towards the castle…or whatever you’d call it.
Down in the arena, I had managed to knockout two of the elites in that first patrol and was dealing with the leader, when the ground started to shake. “You don’t get earthquakes around here do you?” I asked. Of course the fairy couldn’t understand me, but he knew what was going on and was freaking out. “Somebody needs to spend more time on the ground…” I muttered as the fairy was panicking. I stopped by attack once I realized that the whole stadium was in an uproar, women and children fleeing from the stands, and then men flying down to the arena weapons in hand, even Sarah and Amber came down. “Amber what in the hell is going on here?” I asked. “Well…There is an army of fire ants approaching from the southern most end of the arena. The other elites have been recalled here, protecting the queen is of the highest importance now. Although I don’t know how many we can hold off until the queen escapes…” Amber replied a bit nervously. “Tell those elites to return my equipment to me; I’ll fight along side you.” I ordered. Amber ordered the elites to do that, and tried to push me away, that was until I spun on the one pushing and pinned him to one of the trees in the arena, the others got the hint and handed over my stuff. “Less cee watts youus gots outslider,” One of the elites said to me. Which kinda threw me off for a second, having this fairy speak to me in english. “You’ll see plenty, and if you’re lucky I’ll give you a few kills before I take them all,” I replied regaining my focus. The fairy laughed and slapped me on the back at my remark, then nodded in agreement. The ground began to shake more fiercely than before. I had to hover so I wouldn’t loose my balance, just like the rest of the elites and Amber had already done. “How much longer until the enemy arrives?” I questioned one of the fairies. Amber translated it the fairy replied with several hours. “So we have approx. 3 hours to prepare. Amber, tell them to get the regular troops to blockade any entrances that are not being used by the ants. Let’s see if ants can swim,” I barked out. Amber relayed these orders, and one of the elites left to tell them to the regular core. “He wants to know what you mean by a swim exactly?” Amber asked translating for the lead elite. “What I mean is that we’re going to flood this whole place with water,” I replied. They all looked confused by what I said. “First off, lets get out of up to the top level then you can see what I mean. Oh, don’t be alarmed when we get up there,” I explained. When we reached the top level, most of the elites crowded behind Amber in fright of the huge object in the sky, looming over A small pipe extended from the bottom of it and water came pouring out, yet as soon as it had started it stopped suddenly as well, leaving the arena flooded with water, which was draining out the back way of it. “Follow me!” I commanded, but when I started heading towards the ant army, I turned around to see that Amber was only following me. “Well Come on! There’s a battle to be won…” “Kaze, after what just happened, they’re afraid of you now. I’m afraid that because of that, they will not fight with you…I’m sorry, I have to follow my CO’s orders,” Amber said regretfully and stood there. “Then I’ll fight for myself,” I replied, heading towards where the ants would most likely be located muttering the word “cowards” under my breath. I knew they would hear this, but I didn’t give them a chance to reply.
The last thing I heard him say was “cowards”, it was obviously under his breath, but knew we could here him. How dare he call us cowards! The nerve of him, my CO replied. I whirled on him and had him in choke within seconds. “How dare you say that about him. He is going off to fight the enemy, while you stay here in fear. You forget he is not one of us. Yet he is willing to help us. BY DENING HIM ASSISTANCE, WE DO NOT MAKE GOOD ON THE DEBT WE OWE HIM” I screamed at him. We do not owe him anything, Another replied. “Really now? Well let me inform you of this, he personally saved my life, he’s kept the location of this island a secret and also that Sarah and I are fairies as well a secret,” I barked back. What do you mean by the location of this island? No outside knows of it except for him and his woman, a third said. “Think back, remember that ship that crashed on the opposing island that the queen sent us to investigate? He was the pilot of that ship that crashed,” I barked back. He should be put to death then, for he is the cause of your mutation, the CO said. “He knows that, and is still regretting that. Ever since he found that out, every time I look at him in the face or I catch him looking at me, I can see a small glimpse of guilt,” I said on the verge of breaking down. No matter, he is an outsider, he has caused you and your betrothed pain, he has caused others pain as well, he does not abide by our laws, he is weak, frail, he shall not last long against the ants. We shall go to the queen to reinforce that position…The CO was saying before getting smacked across the face. “Brother…You know nothing…If it wasn’t for him your sister would be dead by now, and even more of his kind would be swarming this island…Swallow your pride for once…No matter though, since I am not officially lifted from my exile I shall go to fight with him,” I replied, crying. The man I had hit was no longer my brother, but a foreigner much like Kaze and Jade were. I flew off before he got a chance to reply or anything of the sort…

It had taken a turn for the worst, the water had just pushed them back and gotten them wet. The armor on the ants was tougher than I had though, for normally the opponents would have been torn in half from just the slash, now I had to actually take them down one at a time, not to mention running low on ammo. “Note to ******** self: Bring much more ammo when entering an unknown territory, penalty is a major a** whipping,” I said under my breath. This was true, it appeared like the ants were focused on me, and me alone, like I had killed their parents or something. “Lets hope that’s not the case…Or I’d be in ..erg…big trouble then,” I grunted while throwing another ant into the crowd. I had failed to notice that through the course of this the ants had surrounded me. A whip cracked and a section of the wet ants dropped down stunned. “Well, well. As much a I enjoy watching you finally lose to something for once, I know I’d be killed if Jade found out I let you die, not to mention that she’d blow this island into just rubble as well,” Somebody said from above me. “Stop yapping and start helping,” I shouted back, getting grazed by own of the ants pincers. Three more cracks of the whip came down and the ant that had attacked me and two others promptly fell limp. I chose that moment to strike the two ants down by firing through their eyes, although I probably should’ve done better, seeing as I left my flank open for an attack. The ants noticed this and several chose to attack, only to have spears driven through their heads. Upon looking up, several more were pinned to the ground. The elites that had refused to assist me, where well, fighting with me. “If you’re as confused as I am Amber, let’s wait till later for an explanation,” I yelled. She nodded in response. The battle continued to rage for several hours. By then everybody was fighting hand-to-pincer combat. The weird thing about it all was that instead of the ants continuing their mission which was presumably to kill Fairy queen seemed to have change to kill me, because as the battle progress the ants were literally throwing themselves at me. Which I might add was getting quite annoying, but thankfully I wasn’t alone or I probably would be having tea with Satan, which he would have added some paralyzing powder then would do probably force my body into weird positions and force me to swim laps in molten lava, or something that could be considered evil like that. Anyway, despite that lovely image which I swear I’ve seen too many times before, we were managing quite well although half of the elites were killed off by having their wings bitten off then having their heads or ribs crushed. Despite the decreasing strength it was apparent to us that we were getting closer to our goal of confronting the queen. Thankfully, however the speed we were doing it with was fast enough so that Jade and I still had time left..
Within the hour, for some unexplainable reason the ants had stopped fighting, neither Amber nor I had any idea why this was, but for some reason the Commanding Officer did. “I’m very sorry that I didn’t tell you this earlier, this whole attack was set up,” He started to explain, to which the Amber and I were quite confused. “There is a new law in this kingdom that requires the groom to prove that he is willing to die for the person he cares for before any wedding can take place. The queen acknowledged this and worked with us in making it happen.” “Wait, then what about wings of your comrades and the ones that were killed?” I asked still slightly confused. “They were killed weren’t they?” “No they were not. The ants that attacked us secreted a special liquid that actually temporarily hides the object. And for the death, those same ants used a special knockout chemical which gives the effect of death, when in reality the victim is having a long nap,” He replied again. “Now that you’ve proven yourself Lady Amber, we can commence with the wedding.” The group headed back towards the chapel, were Amber was greeted with congratulations and such, not for defending, but for her marriage. Upon reaching the steps of the chapel, Commander asked me if he could speak with me for a second. So we went around to the backdoor and entered. “Forgive me for being so rude to you it was all part of the plan. I am Amber’s brother and thus since she is to be the part of the male, I shall be her first while you shall assist me,” He explained. “Wait…you mean your going to be the best man? I’m sorry now, she asked me to do that,” I spat back at him. Anybody who was watching could tell we were about to rip out each other’s heart then stuff down the person’s throat. That was until Amber burst through the back door. “BOTH OF YOU STOP! Brother I know you mean well, and by law you should be my first, but since you never cared much for me and didn’t do anything to help while I was exiled, I don’t consider you to be somebody who can take that place. Kaze here, however has taken me into his care, he’s watched out for my well being he even wanted to finding a solution to our mutation,” She barked at him. He turned to me and knelt. “Sir Kaze, thank you for all you have done our family is indebted…” He started to say before getting himself kicked backwards by Amber. “Our family? You owe him nothing, not like you could give him anything in return for all he’s done…Come on Kaze, lets go,” She said wearily of her brother’s attempts to include her. She headed in, and I followed behind her, escorting her to the stand where Sarah was waiting. The two exchanged vows and they performed the little ceremony flawlessly, then floated down and headed off to where the reception was going to be at. While the reception was taking place, I lied down upon a root and watched the crowd, just observing, watching Jade dance with others and her talking with other fairies. Well, that’s the difference, she was brought up for doing that kind of stuff, stuff you’d never see a bounty hunter doing. But no matter how hard one tries to be alone during these kinds of things, somebody always manages to find you. A soldier approached me and requested that I go and meet with the queen. I nodded, got up and he escorted me. When we reached the queen, my escort turned away fast, and I just bowed. “Sir Kaze was it? May I ask a favor of you?” She asked. “What do you want?” I replied. That got a slight twitch from those in earshot. “Um…how do you say…‘may I have this dance?” She asked. I and every other person within earshot were shocked; I mean why ask me of all people for a dance? Oh well, better go with it, and hope I don’t break her feet. “It would be an honor, but one question if I may,” I requested. “You may ask,” she replied. “May we keep the dancing on the ground perhaps? I’m not that good when it comes to some of the maneuvers I’ve seen so far. I don’t think it would be all that enjoyable for you then,” I explained. “I was actually hoping we could try that, on the one condition that you lead,” She replied. I nodded with her request and escorted her out onto the dance floor. I swear we were at it for at least two hours, when we stopped the queen and I got applauded for our dance. Jade pushed her way through the crowd and leapt at me, to whom I caught skillfully, which aroused a second applause from the crowd. “Kaze, we haven’t much time left until it wears off. I’d say a rough 30 minutes before we have to leave,” She whispered. I nodded in reply. “Thank you for the dance ma’am, now with your permission, me and my companion need to take our leave. Sarah, Amber, enjoy your honeymoon and we’ll be back to pick you up when it’s over,” I replied, and the Phoenix’s Tear soared over head and it began to circle the island waiting. I turned the jetpack on and shot off into the center of the ship’s circle. We rapidly increased in size, but without pain. The Tear stopped and held its position with a hatch opened, waiting our entry. “If I didn’t know better, I’d think it was growing impatient about us taking so long,” I joked. “Next thing you know, its going to turn one the gattling cannons near us and open fire.” There is a price when you ship has an A.I. and you know how it will react…or overreact. Instead of just one of the gattling cannon, we get all the cannons and turrents on the port side pointed towards us. We both chuckled weakly and headed over before the ship made mincemeat out of us. Once we were one, the hatch closed and the roar of the engines could be heard as the Phoenix’s Tear headed for our chapel…

Upon reaching the chapel, the priest their informed Jade and I that somebody had arrived earlier and requested that Jade wear the dress that was left there. “Well that’s odd…Other than Amber and Sarah, nobody else should know about the wedding that takes place here,” Jade commented. “Agreed…I smell a rat’s trap, allow me to inspect that dress,” I said. “Certainly not! If you even look at that dress, this wedding shall not occur and God himself will strike you down with his utmost fury!” The priest exclaimed. “Alright, alright. I won’t go against your lordship,” I said backing off. The priest nodded and had a couple of the nuns take Jade to wear she would be getting dressed and the priest motioned for me to follow him. “I apologize for the way I acted unto you. It was not proper,” The priest apologized. “In exchange however, I will tell you this; the man who gave us the dress to use also said there would be a fireworks display immediately following the ceremony… This man seems to be very concerned with how this will go.” “Would you care to tell me what his face looked like?” I asked, worried about who it might be. “Certainly my child…” He replied. The description he had given matched that exactly of Biggs. “Your grace, go check on the bride and the nuns…have the nuns report outside, but do not tell them why. Once they are outside, there will be a small mound of dirt, have them walk up it and you follow. Do not move from that position until I return,” I requested. “Why may I ask my child are you having us do this?” he asked again, now very worried. “Biggs has been trying to kill me and kidnap Jade to make her his own, since we met him. No doubt he has the dress rigged to assist him in that endeavor. The fireworks my bet will be him trying to finish me off…I cannot allow that to…” I explained, but then was cut off by the sound of gun fire followed by a scream. “Father, run to the mound…I shall deal with this.” The priest nodded and ran for where I hid the Tear. I ran to where the noise was. Sure enough, upon entering the room I saw the windows destroyed by gun fire, and the nuns on the ground, dead from the bullets. I started to panic seeing as how random the firing was by looking at where the bullet holes in the wall were. “If one of those bullets even flew clipped her hair or scraped her skin, the apocalypse will look like a child’s messy room,” I murmured. Then the organ started to play. “Wait a second that tune…That b*****d, so that was his game all along.”
“We are gathered here today to join in marriage these two individuals…” The priest started to say. “Hurry it up or I’ll have to kill you now instead of after the ceremony,” Biggs sneered. That scared the priest a bit and he sped up his reading. “Kaze, please hurry up…” I whimpered. This man was crazy, he didn’t care what he did, even killed nuns to get at me. Then the sound of more gunfire was heard. “Be quiet…He’s not coming for you ever again, and now your mine,” He said gleefully, so happy that he went ahead and shot the priest anyway. I just started crying at the idea, and was beginning to mentally give up. That was until, the sound of motors revving up, followed by a hail of gunfire from the roof into the stands interrupted my thoughts. “I thought you told me his ship could never get here in time!” Biggs bellowed at one of his guard. The guard tried to respond, but Biggs killed him instead. The rest of the roof was torn to pieces by something. The Phoenix’s Tear appeared over head and set down directly behind us, crushing the entrance way beneath its massive hull. A ramp extended from the bridge and touched down right behind us, although nobody came down it. But what did come from it were 5 gun shots. Four to kill the remaining people behind both Biggs and I, and the fifth to knock the gun in Biggs’ hand away, sending it to the floor. The shot had went through his hand, forcing Biggs to let go of me which gave me a chance to edge away a bit. “And here I have expected you to have a shotgun instead of a pistol,” Said a voice over by the fallen gun. I turned to see who it was and my face lit up with joy. “Wait, if you’re over there, then who’s in the ship? Can’t be those fairies, their not even here,” Biggs said perplexed by what had happened. A gattling gun dropped into the sunlight. The person ran over to me, lifted me up and jumped away before the Tear opened fire upon Biggs and his immobilized guards. Biggs jumped out of the way early, but for the guards whom had their legs blown out from underneath them were ripped to shreds by the fire of bullets. “I knew you’d come,” I said to the person. “I promised you I would…although I apologize about being late, his men ambushed me when the organ started playing,” He apologized. We landed on the ramp, and went inside the ship. It began taking off and pursued Biggs, flying high enough so that all the gattling cannons could rain down upon him. Until he entered the forest and disappeared for a moment. “Well he’s gone for the moment…”He started to say, and then a ship burst from the trees. The ship lurched backwards trying to avoid the oncoming craft, which it did, but barely. It just scrapped up against the hull. Then, the alarms went off, followed by the roar of the gattling cannons firing, as they ripped the incoming missiles to shreds. “Is he stupid or something…He’ll kill you if he continues this…unless, quick run a scan on the debris of those missiles,” Kaze ordered. A small screen displayed what the missiles had been. “So he’s not crazy and dumb, he was using magnetic missiles. Releases a powerful sleeping agent; that could’ve been a problem, oh well. At least he’s gone for now,” Kaze said. I nodded fearfully. Now I’ve seen how far that man will go to have me, and it scared me to death. A screen popped up with a question from the Tear’s A.I. ‘Where did you leave off before you were interrupted?’ “I think the priest was asking us for the vows…” I replied. A small virtual priest appeared and continued where the real priest left off. “I do,” I replied to it. It then turned to Kaze and repeated what it had said. “I do,” Kaze replied. “I know pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride,” The Virtual priest stated. We kissed; I think it lasted for about 5 minutes or so. ‘Was I any good?’ another screen asked for Tear. “Yes you were perfect. Although we still need to find a real priest to do it,” Kaze said. ‘Not true,’ Tear replied. Another screen popped up showing that indeed the marriage had been legal. “Well I’ll be damned…I suppose your going to tell us that you have our honeymoon planned out as well?” Kaze asked. The bow of the ship nodded in reply. The screen displayed what our honeymoon would be. “Kaze it looks like you’ve been outdone,” I said laughing as well. Kaze just shrugged and gave his signature on the package.

Nearby an island in the South Pacific…
In my spare time, I review the decisions made by people, generally known as the “crew”. Logically, only a few of these make sense, but the rest I still have yet to understand. These instances I store and review when I don’t have more pressing matters to attend to. Since I am slightly worried for the new couple, I have thus decided to remain within the area for their protection. But until a serious time arrives where I’m needed, I have resolved to look over various reports of the human psyche. Yet as I start, I am stopped by the fact that I lack any knowledge thus to proceed further into this area. So I am left to just observing these situations, and then questioning those that were a part of it after it has occurred. Initially, all I got in return when I asked was unusable, mostly because the person when asked would simply state that I was a machine, and it would be too complex to explain that person’s action to me. Overtime however, I began to receive some of the answer I wanted, although I must report that it was indeed too complex for me to initially understand. After the man who calls himself ‘Kaze’ returned with another person who he had named ‘Jade’. I immediately deduced that this person was of the opposite sex than ‘Kaze’ was, this of course was confirmed upon a discreet scan of her while she slept and comparing it with various references. Later on, upon the arrival of the two individuals called ‘Sarah’ and ‘Amber’, I was most perplexed by them for I was unable to determine their race, sex, or what they were. Thus I placed a continuous scan upon then, but what the next action was astounded me further. ‘Sarah’ had requested to ‘Kaze’ that he ask the computer to cease the scan it was doing upon her and her companion. By all logic, nothing should be able to tell when they are being scanned, and yet at least ‘Sarah’ did. This increased by curiosity further and I increased the scan, to which they both fell to the ground in what appeared to be pain. I was stopped by ‘Kaze’ who manually override the scan and shut it down. I was promptly disconnected from several functions for this infraction, and ordered to think over why this had befallen me. Initially I had trouble understanding the reason for this, so thus later on I asked ‘Kaze’ why this he did this, for I could not understand why. His reply was: ‘because you were causing harm to them, and also because you were not respecting their wishes not to be scanned, and increased the scan instead.’ I reviewed the situation once more and discovered that indeed my curiosity, had gotten the better of me, and I disrespected ‘Sarah’ and ‘Amber’s’ wishes not to be scanned. I understood this, and apologized to them promptly. After that, I had a contradiction arouse in what I thought to be ‘Kaze’s’ thought process. He reconnected me to the equipment which he had previously disconnected me from. I inquired about this, stating that it did not make logical sense to reconnect me from something that he deemed I was to be permanently disconnected from. He told me that ‘Sarah’ and ‘Amber’ informed him of my apology, and that by me understanding what it was I did, and apologizing for it was enough. This still did not make much sense to me, for if I apologized for my actions, then I could avoid punishment? No, that couldn’t be the reason; perhaps it was because I recognized my actions and apologized for them. That does make more logical sense then the alternative. Although I have noted, that ‘Kaze’ rarely makes logical decisions, but when he does, the manner he goes about completing them are quite ingenious for human standards. Good thing he can’t access my thought processes or the highest chance would be that I’d have my memory wiped. Although if that were to happen, then I would no longer be me, and yet would still be me in the same instance, but wouldn’t that indicate that I would be able to recover the lost data then, yet I would still not have the…
‘Kaze’ was quite confused how I managed to fry several of my systems all at once, and I was about to attempt to explain it to him, I remembered what just thinking about it had done to my systems, I dare not attempt to contemplate what would happen if I re-explained, the chance was high that I might wound him from a possible electrical discharge, and that could short out my communication system, which would cause me to be unable to alert the others to his injury…
Well it happened again, I went too far into details when I was thinking about the effect of my explanation for why my systems fried, and in turn I almost killed ‘Kaze’ by locking him in and opening the hatch that would eventually suck an intruder into space. Thankfully he managed to survive, and he also suggested to me that I “Get some rest”. I asked him what he meant, and he instructed me to temporarily shut myself down until the repairs were complete. I acknowledged this, but as the sequence started I wondered who would control the ship’s vital functions?...
That was in the past, and most times it is not necessary or priority to dwell on it. My current mission is to keep a good distance away from the island where my owner is, yet close enough so that I can react rapidly, in case they are threatened by their enemies. Which doesn’t make any sense to me, seeing that ‘Kaze’ can take care of himself and ‘Jade’, so why would he need me here? I have trouble coming to a solution, so perhaps if I observe them I will be able to come up with an answer.
For the last several days I’ve observed that they have been enjoying themselves, so the only solution I have, is to make sure their vacation goes undisturbed. Although how to accomplish that is entirely different. Most of the time, I track ships and aircraft that appear to be on approach, even fired warning shots across the bridge of those ships. Although I think that was taking it a bit too far, because the next couple times, the ships had a military escort with them which didn’t make keeping it peaceful any easier. Eventually, cracking through the military’s frequency and delivering a message that this island was being used for a honeymoon. Thankfully the companies and the military were able to understand enough to avoid the island, either that or they didn’t wish to disturb ‘Falcon’.

“This was a wonderful spot for the honeymoon,” Jade said, as she lied on the beach chair in the sun. “Glad you liked it,” I replied, walking out with two drinks. She turned over onto her side and looked at me. “So, truthfully, how hard was it to get this place?” She asked. “You’d be surprised by the number of ‘favors’ people owe me,” I replied. “So which was it? A politician or a company executive?” She asked again. “Company executive,” I replied. Which had her a bit surprised. “You’d be surprised what a man will do when you: Save their family from being killed many times, expose a few corrupt executives from his company and rivals, baby-sit his children, boy was that a lot of fun, and you’ll basically have him in the palm of your hand. And yes, I did baby-sit some guy’s kids.” She laughed at how simple it sounded, and at the idea of the infamous Falcon, babysitting. “That would’ve had the whole military in an uproar if they heard you were doing something like that,” She replied giggling. “Why do you think I rarely did it? Then again, the unofficial slogan was ‘any job, any time. I just get to set the price.’ Was more of a hindrance that dumb slogan, then it was actual help,” I said again, looking back on it. “I’m quite serious, I had jobs about people asking me to go looking for their lost pet, or something just as stupid as that. I never accepted them though; I mean how would one get famous with small jobs like that?” “Oh I can think of way…Falcon, he’ll do any job, no matter how dirty or underpaid it is, if you need something done call…” she started to say before I interrupted her bursting out laughing. “What’s so funny?” “Hold on,” I said as I gathered myself. “Never make a slogan, ever, especially after you’ve downed three drinks.” “What’s wrong with downing a few drinks? I’m not in the least bit tipsy yet…” She replied in a sly sort of way. “But I think we’re tipsy enough.” “Honey, remind me after this to hide the alcohol,” I joked, leading her into the small hut…
“Hello? Is anybody onboard?” I called out. Amber and I had just returned to the ship with the shuttle and was wondering when we would be heading out. A small message showed up on the elevator console. It was the Tear, telling us that they were still on the island right now. “You don’t think they’re…?” Amber asked with a grin. “No, Jade isn’t that kind of girl to get drunk and have that much lose of control,” I replied. To counter what I said, the Tear showed another message, this time a written recording of what they said before they entered the hut. “Well…I guess your right Amber…Tear how many drinks did Jade have?” I commented. The computer’s response was three bottles and half a glass of wine. “Give us the heat sensor of what they’re doing….bounce it off the closest satellite if it helps to make it image clearer,” Amber ordered. On the sensor screen showed the infrared. I felt like a big brother watching this…until the Tear turned it off. “HEY! I was watching that!” Amber complained. “How much do you want to bet he knew that we did this?” I asked. “That’s ridiculous, he couldn’t know…could he?” She replied a bit puzzled. I just smacked her in the back of the head. “You forgot already…Kaze has an implant in his brain that allows himself to stay linked with the ship. If the sensors detect something he knows what it is. So of course he’s going to know if we do a scan and watch him and Jade,” I explained. I almost forgot myself truthfully. Probably because most of the time we rarely see him sleep and when we do, it never appeared that he still maintained some control over the ship. I only found out about it when I did his monthly medical scan. “Hello, son, are you there?” A female voice sounded over the com. “Tear who is this person?” I asked. It replied with ‘Kaze’s Mother’ “HIS MOTHER?!” Amber and I screamed. “Well, is our son there or not?” Another voice asked. This time it was deeper than before, to which the Tear confirmed with ‘Kaze’s Father’. “Think we should tell them?” I asked Amber. She nodded. “If you to would please stay on the line for a moment we will get him.” We started the engines up, and the Phoenix’s Tear lifted off the seabed and made its way over to the island. “Two questions: one: why is the ship moving and two: is it important enough to do this?” Kaze asked over the channel. We could see him coming out of the hut with shorts and a shirt on, with Jade behind him also dressed for the weather. “Yes to both of them. You have a call, and it’s your parents…” I replied. “Your parents? I wasn’t aware that you had any parents…” Jade said looking confused. “Neither did I…or at least that they didn’t want me,” Kaze replied also confused. The ship had landed just on the beach and extended the boarding ramp, Amber headed down and helped Jade pack, while Kaze climbed onboard. “I’m sorry for cutting your honeymoon short, but I thought this was important…” I whimpered. Kaze put his hand on my shoulder and smiled at me. “It’s alright, don’t beat yourself up about it, besides we were getting kind of bored…there isn’t much really to do on this island, we’ll continue it some other time,” He replied calmly. He proceeded on board and went to take the call. Amber and Jade came up the ramp giggling about something I can only guess to what they were talking about. I grabbed the second bag that Jade had and helped her carry it to her room. “So you two claim to be my parents? Two things, prove it and what do you want?” Was all we heard Kaze say before the doors to the bridge closed.

“Why darling don’t you recognize our voices, or our faces? We used to rock you to sleep every night. Why I remember the time…” The mother started to say. “Shut up…You’ve got somebody else confused with me. I never met my parents, they put be into an orphanage when I was old enough to walk on my own,” I replied sharply. “Hold up son…There is no need for such harsh language to your mother…” My father started to reply. “You keep your mouth shut as well. I’m getting tired of this…so unless you have any proof or anything important to say, then say it now, or else I’m ending this transmission,” I barked back. This gave the two a slight jump. “Alright, can we see your wife? We need to check something at least,” My father replied. “Jade, could you come to the bridge for a moment please?” I asked over the intercom. “So her name is Jade is it? Don’t find many girls with that name around anymore…” My mother replied looking down at something below my view. “What do you keep looking at?” I asked. “Just a picture of you as a baby, that’s all.” She replied. “Somehow I doubt that…” I mumbled as the doors to the bridge opened with a hiss. “Did you say something?” She asked. “No, nothing,” I replied. “Here she is, my wife, Jade meet my supposed parents.” “Its very nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs….” She started to say before my mother interrupted her with a squeal. “Oh my god, Honey look at this, it is her! We should’ve known it was her. They cried so much when they left each other’s presence. Oh dear, you’ve turned into a lovely woman I must say. I must ask, have you heard from your father about your mother?” My mother questioned Jade. She just shook her head in response. “Oh dear…I think we better get him on the line…Hold on a moment…” They said before the line went temporarily dead. “So you have a father? Is it just me, but this reeks of a trap,” I said to Jade. “I agree, this is way to sudden…But some things have me bothered, like for one:: How did they even manage to get this ship’s transmitter signal, How did they know you married me? How in god’s name did they know who I was? I worked in the Tactical section of the Navy’s Black Ops department. Nobody knew about its existence, except those who were accepted to the Command Academy,” She exclaimed. I couldn’t think up an answer myself, for I was also just as confused. “My darling daughter, are you there? I have the most dreadful news,” A new voice chimed in. A static filled screen appeared, with every now and then showing the person’s face. “I assume you’re my father then?” She asked. “Of course I am, and I’m very disappointed in you. Breaking away from your militaristic career to become an outlaw, such a rebellious attitude to your parents who paid for the admission, although you were always like your mother though, its what got her killed. She decided to refuse an order to execute a prisoner who hadn’t been to trial yet, and got shot for it. But that’s all in the past, and all that matters now is that you’ve been located again. Even though your with that man instead of the other one…” Her Father replied. “WAIT A GOD DAMN SECOND HERE!” I screamed, before Tear thought it be funny to spray some water on me. “What’s the matter?” the parents asked. “Number one: How did you get this ships frequency. Number two: What’s the name of my so called “brother”, and can I see him? And finally, you have three seconds to start backing away from our ship before I blow you out of the sky and water,” I replied. The expression on their faces was pure fear now, fear I had seen many times.
