The princess slowly padded to the large lion skull. It still hurt to move, as Mafa had done a really bad number on her leg. She clenched her teeth and continued to hobble forward. She had vague memories... of another lion. She never met him, but his scent was familiar all the same. It was a noble scent.

"The lions in here must be of great importance," Masika murmured. She had been gone so long, going to places in a daze... not knowing where or when. Perhaps these people were the new pride?

Had her family been forgotten?

Her tail drooped a bit as she stepped forward.

"Hello? I am Masika... is anyone in there?"

Amleth lifted her head off of her forepaws and blinked blearily. She must have drifted off while nursing the cubs. Gently moving the three little bundles, she moved towards the den entrance, nudging her mate with her shoulder as she went.

"Hello," she said softly, peering out of the den at the other lioness. Someone she hadn't met yet. She turned to look back at Duhushi, then returned her gaze to Masika. She noticed the leg wound and winced. It seemed that every other creature she met in the graveyard was injured.

"I'm Amleth," she answered finally, settling herself down at the mouth of the skull and gazing to her mate to introduce himself. The lioness seemed to want something specific, so it was probably better to let Duhushi speak with her. After all, he was more familiar with the pride than she was.

Duhu swiped a paw out at the touch on his shoulder. Whether he was having a bad dream or a good one, would never be know. With a great yawn, the King lifted himself from his side, shaking out his mane. He didn't like being woken even if it was Amleth who had done it.

After a fe moments of groggy silence, the purple male stood, stretching out his limbs with usual feline grace. Slowly, green eyes opened and blinked out the fogginess of sleep. "Amleth? What's the matter?" His voice was still heavy as another yawn came from him. His nose wrinkled.

Blood?...

His ears perked and a seemlingly instant sobering made him wide awake and starring at the female at the entrance? "Amleth?..." Was this an injured friend of hers?

"I'm sorry, I didn't realize that you'd be asleep," Masika's ears flicked a bit, a nervous habit.

"I've been away for a long time..." she shook her head, "Well, not really away from the graveyard, but..."

She pursed her lips.

"It's hard to explain. Anyway, most of my family has left... and I'm afraid that I do not know you. Are you the one whom Hidalgo entrusted the pride to? I am Masika... eldest daughter of Hidalgo and Ishara. It is a pleasure to meet you, though I wish I had come at a better time."

The grey lioness turned and looked back at her leg, "On my way here I was attacked by a hyena named Mafa. She could be a great threat to the pride... I'm glad I came back when I did."

Amleth blinked a few times at Duhushi. He didn't know the lioness either?

She returned her attention to Masika. She laid her ears back at the mention of the hyena attack and eyed the lioness's leg again.

"It's fine, really. Duhu is a heavy sleeper, anyway," she said with a grin, swatting her mate. "And he snores."

Becoming serious again, Amleth moved back from the mouth of the den. "Come in, let us look at your leg. It looks painful."

She left the bloodlines and pridal information for Duhushi to explain. She wasn't entirely sure she understood them, anyway.

Duhushi snorted, starring intently at the ground. "I do not nore..."

The King looked closer at her leg as he thought. Hyenas were growing too close to the pride. Too close to the precious bundles that were supposedly sleeping back against the skull wall. "Amleth. Deal with her leg." It came out as much more of an order than he had intended but Masika needed help.

"Hidalgo?..." The mane bristled between his shoulders. "I've never heard of him before..."

"That's odd..." Masika's ears flicked back a little bit, "Hidalgo was the King of this pride... and his heir was..."

Masika pondered, "I forgot his name. It was all so long ago." She shook her head from side to side, "And I don't mean to be any trouble. I just..."

Unable to think of an excuse to avoid receiving help, Masika blushed.
