Bonjour! Hello and welcome to Mlle Tokyoanimefan's French class! Here you will learn all about the French culture, as well as 'survival French'. I will try to speak and write in French as much as humanly possible, as I am also just learning the language. Lastly, if you decide to post here, please try to speak in French, at least as far as I am teaching. My first lesson will come soon, so please keep checking up on this. Until then, au revior!

Bonjour! All right, lets start from the beginning. Here I will teach you words that are similar in French and English, and how to say 'the' in French. There are many words that are the same in English and French, or, at least, they look the same. These are called cognates. These words are simple to understand, and are often pronounced in a way very close to English. Here's a list of words that are similar: ADJECTIVES (les adjectifs) blond cruel excellent horrible immense important intelligent sociable
NOUNS la blouse la boutique la photo la phrase la question la radia la table
le bureau le chef le fruit le menu le pull-over le restaurant le sandwich le sport le train
l'accident l'animal l'automobile

Any word that I listed above is pronouced a certain way. The beginning of the word is heavily emphasized, and the end is softer. In the adjective 'blond', you can guess that it means blonde, as in hair. However, to pronounce it, you act as if the 'd' on the end of the word isn't there. You only speak the last consonant of a word if it is followed by a vowel, such as 'e'. As in 'la phrase', you pronounce the 's', because it is followed by an 'e'.
