I'm DONE!!! I started working on this on a whim the day before I went back to school, around 11 in the morning, and around 9 at night I stopped working on it (I multitasked, too, of course) and by then I had the skin done. Later I went back and touched it up. I finally finished it tonight.

The picture I referenced was taken at the homecoming festival back in October, so the slight "discolouring" around my eyes, the purpley-grey is actually silver eyeshadow I was wearing for school support. I couldn't get the glitter effect right.

I used photoshop elements 3.0 (I know, so old!), mostly the pencil tool, paint brush, and smudge tool.
I spent probably 15 hours total on this.. maybe a bit more.

If anyone's interested, I'll post up the actual picture that I used for reference.

To be honest, it looks like you had the actual picture on a background layer, and just lightly painted over it and added some details. The colour and highlighting of the nose and knuckles especially looks very realistic, like snatched from the original picture directly. Which kinda... takes away from the picture's credibility, and just makes it "photo manipulation" rather than an actual drawing.

Or hey, maybe you're just a lot better at skintones than me. XD In that case, I'd gladly retract my statement.
