It was October, and that meant one thing: Halloween! Costumes and candy and decorations and more chances for Crescentia to earn money because of all the superstitious people wanting their fortunes told, their palms read and for the gypsy to 'see into her crystal ball' that she'd recently added merely for show; this meant that they could go looking for their Halloween costumes and get whatever they wanted. So that was where they were today, a costume shop that had all the things they'd need. How perfect! Guinevere had run off to go searching through the sea of costumes, but Sera was clinging to Crescentia's skirt with Seduire close by her side trying to coax her to go look for costumes as well. She was just too scared! It was loud, and there were so many people! It was overwhelming! And what if she got lost? Crescentia had already lost her once before, and she'd felt so bad about that, she didn't want to honestly get lost and worry her again!
Guinevere seemed perfectly fine with wandering off on her own. She'd never been lost before, and she was also older than her sister, so she had no worries! The thing was she had no idea what she wanted to be this year. Picking a red riding hood costume off the shelf, she eyed it critically for a moment. Hm...maybe...she had the hair and the innocence for it...but Little Red Riding Hood was too predictable! She wanted to do something different that hadn't been done before! Because Guinevere wanted to be noticed and commended for doing something out of the box. The costume was put back on the rack and she moved on to another part of the aisle, spotting a top hat that'd put there probably by some kid who'd been playing dress up in the aisles, playing with the props and anything that wasn't in packaging like so many of the other children and even adults around her. She picked the top hat up off the shelf and put it on, grinning as an idea struck her; this hat was going to be a part of whatever costume she picked! Now that she had a direction all she had to do now was figure out where to go with it, there were a lot of things that could use a top hat. A magician, the Mad Hatter, if she decided to cross dress...she didn't want to do any of those. They weren't her style. But she didn't want to wear a dress or a skirt, she always wore dresses. Halloween was the time of year you pretended to be someone or something that you weren't! So why stick with a dress?
That was when she saw it.
It was...it was perfect. A hair of shiny gold boots, pale green cuffs to go around the wrists with a matching pale green gold-lined overcoat/vest and a darker green shirt underneath. There were also a pair of cropped pants that reached just about her knees that were almost exactly the same color as the hat. "What's this..." Guin blinked and flipped the tag over to read the name; it read 'The Wizardess of Oz!' in big, green font and had a picture of a girl modeling how the costume was supposed to look. Wow! This was...yeah! This was it! The costume! It was perfect! The redhead grinned and hugged it to her chest, hurrying over to where her mother and Seraphine were checking out a Goldilocks costume for her sister. Aw, cute, it was perfect for the little blondie. But now wasn't the time to be thinking this! She had a costume to give to her mother to be bought!
"Momma! Momma! I've got it!" Guinevere grinned and held out the bag for her mother to see and approve of, feeling quite proud of herself for finding this. She was still wearing the hat, of course. Crescentia got up off her knees and took the bag from Guin, checking the tag, giving the contents of the bag a quick check and then glancing at her older daughter in the corner of her eye. She was smiling, so that brought a smile to Crescentia's face. The costume wasn't inappropriate in any way, and Guinevere really seemed to love it!
"I must say, that hat is quite dashing on you." Crescentia smiled and took the hat, searching it for a tag as well. Ah, there it was. "Come here, darling." The gypsy reached down to take Seraphine's costume as well, gesturing for both girls and Seduire to follow her to the check out. Guinevere squealed with delight and practically skipped alongside her mother and sister. Perfect! Now she had the perfect Halloween costume this year! All they needed was the pumpkins and the candy and the decorations and then for Halloween to come!
