Perhaps you can explain somethign to me. How is it a mans fault if the toilet seat is up? I don't know any women IRL that fault men for it, and I had always assumed that was a joke. Isn't it?

I think it's one of those things that have become generalised and almost vernacular, like how women (supposedly) can't read maps and men (supposedly) won't ask for directions. Again, it's a bit of a joke. The toilet seat thing was never a problem in my house, because everybody left the toilet with the seat and the lid down. Women lift the lid, men lift lid and seat (unless it's "number two's" but I am getting a little too graphic now!). Now that I live alone, I still live by that rule. I hate seeing toilets with the lid up (and yes I am a man and no I am not gay! wink )

Wow, no offense, but wow this screams bitterness to me.

My husband got me a new wedding set, does that mean I'm a highclass socialite with a husband trying to pay me off for his mistakes? I like to think I'm not a paid off hausfrau (even if it's not important of a job). I'm sure with all your education and classes, you know there's the whole symbolism behind it.

So what if a guy buys a $1K ring. So what if a guy buys a $5 box of chocolates? Was was the old adage: "It's the thought that counts"? As long as it's given with love, why does the amount/perceived luxury matter?

And for the record, we're considered in the lower income bracket. I was fine with this post before you started assuming things and getting dramatic because some people didn't agree.

I figured us all being 21+ we could get past the melodramtics. Not everyone has the same sense of humor. Assuming that people hate you because they don't agree with what you post? Talking about quitting over it?

neutral I wasn't aware that my not agreeing and voicing so = HATING you and trying to drive you away. If I don't like someone, I leave no questions about it. I'm not coy. I don't veil what I feel with words and phrases. I just say it. So if I never said it, it wasn't what I meant. I'm not sorry for having an opinion and not LOLing with everyone else. Apparently unless I agree with you, I'm the one not welcome to post.

I found the idea that men only give jewelry for misdeeds and the idea that women forgive based on materialism not funny. I don't find a lot of things funny; I get accused often of not having a sense of humor.

I grew up poor. Barely above poverty line poor. I'm not exactly well off now. So to make such assumptions was short sighted and honestly rather childish. There was no need to get huffy because I didn't find something funny. I didn't attack you. I didn't say I hated you. I didn't tell you to leave. I just said I honestly didn't find this funny though I was sure it was meant as a joke. It was fine for everyone else to say, "this is great," but I wasn't welcome to give my opinion?

I'm very rarely in here, but it's clear I'll just refrain from posting in any topic you make because your feelings get hurt easily and you get in a huff if not everyone agrees with you. I only really come in to let Dak know what's going on in his guild anyway.

No...I do blame men for leaving the toliet seat up...because unless us women are cleaning it or having to flush something down the toilet we are not going to be lifting the seat in the fist place...

This also might be a bit of a left over issue I have with my brother's leaving the seat up when the would wake up at night haveing to use the restroom and then when I would wake up I wouldn't bother to check it and with some sort of odd regularity fall in the damned thing.. sweatdrop

Unforunately I let some issues IRL cause me to fly off the handle like a drama queen last week.

There's no excuses.

I'm sorry.

Sometimes things just make you extra, extra sensitive -I hope everything works out. And good on you for apologising, that would have been a difficult thing to do. Well for me at least.
