Better Than Bread Pudding

If you'll all be so kind to think back...think back to Dec 27th of 06....imagine what it was like then...imagine....if you only imagine I promise I shall be back very soon with something more current....

I'm relieved that I wasn't in the midst of one of my "******** you god" monologues when it hit because it might have sent me to into some churchy hysteria that would most certainly have alienated most of those dear to me (myself not excluded from said group of intimates). I was however lost in writing when all of a sudden I found myself curiously having to decide whether someone had slipped mescaline in my Rubios or if a truck had hit my house. In polka dot pj bottoms I managed to dial Shalon whilst wedging myself into a doorjam. I imagine I looked like a cartoon polka dotted cat that someone was trying to dump out of a shoe box into a full tub of water - one giant X, head tilted a bit to hold the phone between my ear and shoulder. Shalon confirmed my sanity and the earthquake's brief visit. Unfortunately it returned the next day to wake me at 9:30. If you want a pure "WHAT THE ********?!" moment, I do recommend trying out an earthquake. Aint nothing like it to shake your foundations.

Wooh! That was wordy was it not?

I just returned from seeing the boys in the band. We practiced a bit. Hunter and I have beards. Adam is clean shaven - seems he and I switched places for a moment. Everyone (aside from yours sruffily) looks good and the rehearsal went very well. Smith joined us on drums and RJ picked up the Bass for a song while Hunter checked his email.

I saw Jeffree Star perform for the first time recently. The boy's a natural on stage. Spoke with Nick 13 for the first time in a while last night and he, Jerry and Joe are flowing together. I got a small taste of what's to come from him and I'm now even more excited to hear Nick's new contributions to the ever shrinking world of great songs.

I forwent Silversun Pickups and chose reclusiveness. I do wish I could have seen Mr. Enigk as well but I was on my way to see the fam for Santaday. Santaday and the surrounding days were very nice. I ate between sleeping jags.

Other than that, I'm searching for boots paintings, and art hoodies between much needed gyming, friend loving and writing. Looking forward to NYE for once. Hope you're all fancy.

I ate it all.

Hehe... oh so lovely to hear from davey again^^. The AFI blogs make me sooo happy^^. Bread pudding is ok.... I love polka dots. I wouldn't be surprised if he owned polka dot pj's XD. I've never experienced an earthquake before... I wonder how big it was, probably not that big.

So I must apologize for my tardiness (again), but I have been bizzybizzy.
Mainly I've been dividing my time between working on my biceps by benchpressing Ferraris filled with supermodels and teaching the homeless to read.
All the rest of my hours have been spent slaving on Blaqk Audio. We're entering the studio in a matter of days to record vocals. We're very excited.
I'll be posting a tracklisting and an album title when it's finalized.
We also have a website, blaqkaudio.com, which will be undergoing a major transformation very soon.
If I have any time I'm going to try to put together a couple of simple t-shirt designs too.
In the meantime I thought I'd post lyrics to one of the songs, just so you know I'm not lying about us finally putting out this album.

Black-Ink Style

So she found him in a sprawl, collapsed and glowing pale

on the ground. His hair spread like a melting angel

like a fire crawling across the floor.

In this moment, in this still inchoate

she loves him.

In this moment, in this light she loves him like no one has.

He held onto elegance easily.

She'd never seen him this way.

She holds on to this picture lit perfectly

and she holds the dust forever.

So he finds her in a sprawl, woven deep in memories revisited and reworked.

The scars get covered up with cherry blossoms that never felt

as soft as this

He held onto elegance easily.

She'd never seen him this way.

She Holds on to this picture lit perfectly

and she holds the dust forever.

Freeze the frame right here he found the perfect pose.

It comes to him naturally.

Freeze the frame right there he found the perfect pose

It came to him naturally.

Surely you must remember him?

I can't wait until Blaq Audio comes out!!!!! I freaked!!! Gosh, Black-INk Stryle is gorgeous!!! I can't wait to hear it all!!!! I hope it will be amazing(I don't want to jinx it ><). It reminds me of something poe would write... but a bit more modern.

p.s. the lyrics were written by Davey. Like in AFI, I'm writing all the music and doing all the programming for Blaqk Audio and Davey is writing the words. Nnnnghhh!!

XTRE XTRE XTRE!

I've got some late breaking news... and exciting news it is! On Saturday, January 20th, AFI will be making our first Saturday Night Live appearance! Hopefully they'll let us return again after I do my best Lucille Balle impression and try to squeeze my way into every sketch on the show. I thought you all might want to watch the fun so I just cut to the chase. That was the chase... and the rest goes a little something like this....

NYE was a blast. I think I may have fallen in love with the gold mic during the MTV performance (the wedding e-vites shall arrive shortly.) You should have seen the view from the studio....thousands of seemingly foamy, Seusse -esque, red hats bobbed below in a sea of NYE mirth. I swear, standing in that square til 12am when starting at hours of the morning during which I myself would typically be calling it an evening requires and outlook that is too foreign to this boy...but more power to all you ball drop lovers. The rest of my evening was spent sweating my hair into a puff on a dance floor alongside Lou Koller, Damien Xplsion and many well done drag queens, cyber girls and assorted lovelies of a similar fabulous nature. The GoGo dancers let me share their dressing room which was a party in itself. It seemed to be in a constant state of pansexual make out. Can't complain about that really. A topless girl told me that I inspired her to move to NYC from her tiny VT town and "rejoin civilization." She said it meant a lot...it was a very nice compliment. (She, by the way, was on the dace floor, not in the dressing room with the rest of the topless). The city got cold and drizzly around 5am but it was quite a nice close to great night.

I've been sick but the Doc's helping, the tea's flowing and I've got a new LaChapelle book to keep me stimulated. I finally watched Stage Beauty. Nils got it for me for my birthday but I hadn't had time to watch it until now. It's great. Boogie Nights and Party Monster were in rotation earlier in the week. You already know that those are necessary.

The more I listen to Silversun Pickups the more bummed I am I didn't leave the house that night. There's pleasantly surprising Samiam moments later in Carnavas. If you've heard both you might know what I mean...or think I'm crazy....wonder if they like Samiam....

Okay, enough, it's just Some Candy Talkin anyway....I'm gonna make tea.

I just read that blog and it made me sooo happy!!!
Shiny mics sound awesome... I'd like one and show it off XD. I'd feel uncomfortable around a whole bunch of topless girls redface .... I hope Davey gets better.... I have the cold too and It've been coming and going since Christmas....Grrrrr....

Day 2 of vocals. We've already finished 8 songs. We would have finished the whole thing this week but Saturday Night Live came up. Certainly can't complain about that though. Can't wait for everyone to hear these songs, they're coming out fabulously. There's also going to be some surprise guest appearances, surprising even to us. Here's a couple of pictures that I took (horribly) yesterday.

So I just got back to my hotel and, as you know, they effed up the mix on Miss Murder. Apparently the sound board crashed at the beginning of the song and they weren't able to fix the mix til near the end. They're going to fix the levels for the west coast showing of it, so at least some people will hear it how it was actually played. SUCK!!
Anyway, it was fun doing the show, Miss Murder difficulties aside.
<3

It sucked that had to happen...

Who needs special K? Really, sing all day. Sing high and loud and then spend a few hours channelling that breathy femme fetal in each and every one of you, and you'll find yourself deeper in a trance hole than an early 90's Limelight fixture. I'm lost, the past days and days of singing has gotten me quite deep into somnambulance. The traveling probably hasn't helped either. I've found myself screaming at elevator doors and menacing my friends with loud serenades of Oliver Twist solos. Oh, it's gas.

A very nice gentleman by the name of Milton who works at one of my favorite macro haunts gifted me a cupcake yesterday morning. I kept it in it's cute little plastic bubble casing all day, sequestered it away in it's perfect cupcake atrium til I decided it's time was up last night. It tasted like the atrium I believe. I'm told it made me taste like one of those toy balloons used to tie into Dachshunds. Wonderful.

At the restaurant I ran into Toby from H20 (he was with a nice gentleman named Michael who starred in True Romance), a still anonymous blonde girl with huge, pretty, blue eyes who I smile at often of late, and the old man that I think looks like Charles Bukowski - though Nick 13 and Adam argue that what he has in common with Charles is the fact that he's old and a man - who is always there. Every time I eat there, he's there. Morning, afternoon, night, he's there. It's bizarre.

I sang on Nick 13's record last week. It was a good time. I got some high quality hang time with Joe and Jerry together for the first time since DU was tracked. The Tiger Army record is going to be fantastic. Nick's voice is beautiful and his melodies are the same. I actually got to sing with an extremely talented gentleman for a few of the songs as well. I'll let Nick let you know who that was himself.

SNL was absolutely fabulous. The cast and everyone involved with the show were warm, welcoming and lovely. My mother told me today that the show first aired the year I was born. I feel as if I began watching around the same time I was enjoying Sesame Street and the wonders of kindergarden. Being on the show was a dream come true and, simply.. really, really fun. Jeremy Piven was very friendly and had quite the nice physique to go with his amiable personality.

The day before I spent shopping and hitting my favorite vegan spots. My recreational activities after the performance had me out til about six thirty am. I would go into detail, but I wasted too much of your time on plastic flavored pastries already. Good times were had.

the cupcake had it's redemption today through the delightful taste of it's ******** cupcakes

DXH
EPPPP, another blog from Sir Havok. It made meh so happy^^. Gosh the muffins container makes me want one.... I'd feel so special with one encased in it XD. Special K is addicting ><... It tastes sooooo guwd!!! Life wouldn't be the same without cereal. I love cupcake... I haven't had one in a while... maybe I should think in making some this weekend. To bad ya'll can't come over and eat them with me...

I love Nick 13's voice. It's very pretty, It's a voice I've never heard before because a lot of people in the music industery sound the same.

Seasame street was the s**t! *trys to imagine davey as a kindergarten* rofl .

Nils and Trevor came to hold hands and hang art. They left early this morning (a time which we in our circle consider to be last night) and cartoons with Francis and Sam ensued thereafter. I myself leave early tomorrow morning (a time which we in our circle consider to be obscene) so I figured I'd spill one more of these for you before they became infrequent yet again.

AFI will momentarily converge in LA tomorrow and tour begins. We're all looking forward to hitting yall's cities which we haven't been to in quite some time. Being with SOIA again will be fantastic and having D&D will only make it better. I'm trying to find some new eye shadow for the occasion and taking a bit to decide which earlets and plugs to bring. Mundane and insignificant? Quite possibly...but hey, Hepburn would understand..as would Lou and Dan.

Ryan just informed me that I need to see Smoking Aces. I don't really know much about it other than its inclusion of Piven and Common. Common's tall. Nils turned me on to Amy Winehouse which I'm really enjoying. I read in the new MOJO, which includes a good article on Ian Curtis, that Nick Cave has a new project which I'm very much looking forward to and I'm thrilled to hear about JAMC performances as well as a new My Bloody Valentine. The year in music is looking up.

I believe I saw a cyber girl recently walking the Berkeley streets, nearby I was once told I was a powerful wizard by a homeless person.

I've got SO much more to say....but not in this forum. I'm gonna go write it on the walls....and get juice.

f**k a cold,

DXH
Sir Davey has wroye another blog!!
Smokin; Aces looks good. I wouldn't mind seeing it. I wonder what a cyder girl is.... Davey likes to write on walls... I haven't done that since I was 3! Haha, I'm joking. Davey anbd colds... I hope he gets better soon^^ heart .
