Vanessa wasn't late.
Everyone else was just early.
She had observed her new form teacher with her cold gray eyes through her narrow eyelids. Fun. She let a smirk spread across her face, carefully avoiding her face so that no one would see it. Yes, it would be fun. As quickly as it came, Vanessa replaced the look on her face with a blank innocent stare and a pleasant smile. She had perfected the art of acting in her household; everyone was taken in by her superb acting.
As she entered the classroom, a gaze spread across the room. Not bad. At least it was better than THAT school. But then again, she did have a lot of fun there. No one knew that her father belonged in a triad anyway. But here, it would be quite obvious. Or would it? For some reason, her father flew over to Japan for buisness purposes and brought their family over. Which meant she had to enter Ouran. She didn't mind though, cause school over THERE wouldn't be much fun without Kitty. A glint appeared in her eye as her imagination took her into a past for a moment.
Shaking her head slowly, she put on a bright smile and skipped over to a table which was at the back of the class, at a corner. It was always the best for musings.

The new classroom- yet another place Miiya had to adapt to. Nervously, she twisted her braid around her finger, looking for a seat while the rest of the students rushed ahead of her.
She picked a seat nearest to the window, so that she could gaze out. It also ensured that there would be less people surrounding her, like the time a few years ago when she was completely surrounded by people who didn't like her.
Miiya had to beg the teacher to change their seating positions, and it was not a very easy thing for her to do, given her character.
she settled her things on the table. It was gleaming clean, as it always was when the school year started.

Ryou looked around, his eyes scanning the room. Yes, it was back... Those memories of being helpless against bullies who always went for the weak, and the helpless. Why they had never chose to pick on him, he had an idea why. He might be helpless, but his father sure was not.
A sigh escaped from his lips as he put on a smile... To show that this year would be different. He would stand up to those bullies... Well, at least he hoped to. The least he could do was to stop them. He knew that those guys will never pick on someone whose parents were better off not being enemies with. He knew that with that, he could protect...
But why was he still so frightened?
Ryou walked to the window seats, and took the one in front of Miiya. She was the only he knew anyway... And he didn't want to be surrounded by a bunch of 1D boys. That feeling was horrible. It was like being locked in a cage with four fierce animals, and with only a wooden hut for protection.
"Hello, Miiya!"

Miiya.
That was the rather cute girl's name, or so she thought, but not as cute as Kitty. Still, she had to see if she could have any fun with that girl.
She had observed the other boy; he didn't seem like the loud bullying type, like those others. She could see a slight flicker of unhappiness in his eyes, and a little sigh. He must be...afraid of the others.
All such valuable information to her, she mused quietly as she took out a book to read quietly, giving others the impression that she was a rather quiet girl. Which she usually was. She usually was quiet, after all, targeting your victims would be harder if they thought you behaved like a bully right?
Her eyes fell back on the book as they mused over the rather tiny font of the words.

"Huh, uh, h-hello Ryou-kun!" Miiya looked up and smiled . She was relieved that someone who didn't seem to have ill intentions was sitting near her.
Perhaps she'd be safe this year. After all, this was high school... right? Everyone should be more mature...right? Surely people can change over the holidays. Miiya was sure she did. She started eating more vegetables, much to the chef's delight, because he took her leaving of beans on her plate as an insult.
Miiya wondered why Ryou would want to sit near her though. He was, to her, one of the 'average' classmates. Those she knew by name, but not so much personally. Those who..never really had anything much to do with her.
she was glad, though, that Ryou was here. It never hurt to know more people, the amount of people she knew was ridiculously little.
((this seating arrangement suddenly reminds me of suzumiya haruhi. : D))

Ryou smiled, and sat sideways on the chair so that it was easier to talk to Miiya. She was the only person he knew, and he somehow felt better knowing that someone he knew was just sitting behind him. It was a little silly, seeing that she was a girl and he was a boy, but still...
"When school officially starts," Ryou mused out loud, blushing a little as he gave a grin, "Would you like to study together? Maybe we an get out ofthis class together and get to at least a B class next year. There are much less bullies there."
