There are many styles of practice.
Some are more free formed then others.
There Is Ceremonial... This is the General Alter and second meanings and deeper meanings approach to magic. It is Rigidity of definition and through that rigidness and order you order your influence in the world.
There is Chaotic Magic... which is still in its way ordering your will but it is altering your will to fit a situation rather then altering a situation to fit your will. This is adopting different ways of beliefs in reaction to the world in order to influence it in different ways. Seeing Red As White and your will supporting red as white Completely so that red becomes white.
There is free form magic which is just PUSH Magic. That people use strong desires and Push the world in a specific way. This goes into trying to MAKE things happen by just putting enough force on it to make it happen. It is just kinda like saying go here.... push push push
There is magic that relies on just flowing and fitting with the world and subtle influences... a small push herre a little push there but not much force.
There Are Many different Types... What is yours?
How do you Practice what do you do or visualize when you do a spell?

I like to... make small canges but thats all I can do. I have used things as representations but I never create a ritual or use physical things as representations.
I invest my will in objects sometimes... I use it as a conduit an outlet and I change it so that it has energy flowing through it that conforms to my desired purpose. I use alot of things this way. I mesh my will with things my body... I use things as an outlet but I never make very large alterations. If I concentrate long enough I can but I usually don't. I liek to practice through movements. I liek to express my will through sound and weather that sound is in words or not doesn't matter nothing matters but meaning. In the moment I am casting I just feel the meaning and I just intuitively understand what I'm trying for... and I just see the changes I have to make without truly seeing very much at all I feel them. SO I change them. I just make it different and let it be what I want it to be.
And I feel the energy I channel... and I don't even use much of it. Most just flows through channels.. just flows and doesn't touch. I don't alter much but I change the meaning or relation of what I alter. And this seems to work.

I tend to feel energy and the elements. I've never done a spell before in this life, as I do not have the materials for it, nor the mind. But I do ask the Earth for things sometimes. I also ask Her what I can do to help. I just talk to the Earth and see what pops up.

Sengem I tend to do elemental magics which is moving the four elements with your mind. Thats Channeling... Its affecting the world around you not really moving the four elements. It is physical manipulation... You are channeling your influence throug wind or watter air or fire earth etc. And that isn't saying How you do it just that you do it. Your just saying you do physical manip not like the style or way in which you do it...

I also ask Her what I can do to help. I just talk to the Earth and see what pops up. That in its way is doing a spell. Anything in which you are influenceing is technically doing a spell. Feeling energy is just liek input. You don't Need materials to do spells. Anything Can be used... it is just a representation. Lets say you had a rock the rock could mean alot of things if you were to use it as a spell. It could mean solidity or it could mean stability or it could represent a person a place marker so to speak. "talking" to the elements is just sending information out into the world. By talking to the earth you are putting your wil out and useing the earth to help you accomplish something. you are influenceing its energies to accomplish something. Askign it for energy you draw in energy. Its just a different way to view the same thing you are still practicing magic...

I tend to vary inbetween pushing my will and letting things flow. It really depends on how emotional I get, and if I'm bored. If I'm angry I want things done on my schedule, and I don't care what I interupt, regardless of the consquences sent my way later. If I'm mellow, I do nothing... If I'm happy or sad (...or emotions that I correlate with those two base ones) then I let things flow, que pasa que pasa (...die spanish die)
As it where, I feel ADD and I feel like typing a touch bit childishly so I may channel tonight and get rid of some energy, so I'll just be doing a little push here and there.

Puch is something that happens alot.. when ever you exert influene you push... just sometimes subtlety is lacking lol

It's cool. 3nodding I always wondered what exactly chaotic magic entailed. I know it is based on adopting different like schemas and ways of believing. Yeah spells and projecting energy is always fun... Like... Eh if I push hard enough it will happen ^_^
