The little things we take for granted, The smallest measure forgot, Like a simple wave and smile, Always lacking what we sought, If ever a time were needed, Today is the day. Raise your voice and laugh out loud, Be a friend this day. Walk up to a complete stranger, And strike up a little chat, You never know what you might learn, And that my friend is a fact. Be the friendly face in the crowd, When everyone’s dismayed, You might find that you have indeed, Made somebody’s day.

If you want, change the last line to "made someone have a great day." It keeps the rhythm to the poem.

Wow I didn't think that I'd get any responses to this poem. I'm so glad that people like it. heart In regards to changing the last line, if you read it out loud, you'll see the last line flows just fine. It can sound rather strange in the head, but I compose all my poems and songs while saying the lines out loud. It can be sort of weird at times, if you know what I mean... sweatdrop If one just mearly reads it and not speaks it, I can see where the confusion arises.

Very nice! It makes me smile, and it's a very well written poem! It flows. there are no problems in line transitions. And it's happy! Very good job. mrgreen

Yeah, it's a nice to have a bit of a breather from the soul searing and depression hitting poem writing once and awhile. Happy times are just as good as bad time for inspiration on a poem when I write. heart Glad to know you liked it. smile
