Mother was not happy.
And, as the old saying went: When Mom's not happy, no one's happy.
Father was such a pushover, oh yes. She'd learned that when he took her 'hunting', just by the way he'd reacted to her fits of drama. After that, she'd observed even more closely. Observed Mother getting more and more tired from keeping up with six growing lionesses. Observed Mother having a hissy fit at Father because he wasn't keeping a close enough eye on them, and the jungle was dangerous.
Yes, very dangerous. There were poisonous plants, and scary snakes, and vines one could trip over or get tangled up in. It wasn't long before Ohahira knew what needed to happen.
They needed to move.
But when she approached Mother with that thought, the older lioness had shooed her away, saying she was too busy and to take it to Father if it was that big a deal. Unfortunately, teaching six girls the ways of the world kept them both occupied.
It had been all too easy to slip away from her sisters and parents. What was she looking for? She wasn't sure, but she just felt whatever it was, it was out here.
What she didn't count on was getting lost 'here'.
The cry of a bird made Ohahira jump, and she backed against the closet tree, ears pinned.

A pair of dust-lavender eyes watched the young monochrome child startle in surprise, their owner slipping out of the shadows, exuding comforting vibes through the air hoping to calm the cub down.
Kiva didn't often wander away from her children, simply for the fact that they were such a handful for their poor adopted father-- who lacked the gift of flight that would've otherwise allowed him easier means to keep up with them. She needed some time alone though, and so she'd told them that while she was out, there was to be no flying out of their father's reach or they'd answer to her upon her return.
She had choosen to don her mortal disguise for this trek, because wings tended to get in the way with all the vines and plantlife hanging about the humid jungle, and it was hard enough navigating the land as it was with her size now. What she wouldn't almost give to be a cub again, able to fit through and into all those loopholes and branches with ease. Those days were behind her now though...
"You seem lost, is everything alright?" She questioned softly, not yet venturing to see if the female had any remaining ties. She'd let her answer first.

Ohahira knew little about life outside the jungle she'd lived in since birth, so it was probably for the best that Kiva seemed like a normal lioness to her.
Mother was a very solitary lioness prior to Father appearing, apparently, so she had little stories to tell them. As for Father, they were told not to prod him about his past. It was an awkward demand that didn't quite settle well with her, but one she wouldn't go against.
Hasana's favoring Tara, the sister who resembled her brother, did not only effect the eldest of the girls, Nyumbani. Ohahira, too, wanted some of her mothers attention, but not if it was negative. So she listened and didn't ask questions, and as a result, all she knew was tan and white and black lions, trees, vines and whatever other creatures were around her.
The cub did calm down, but one wouldn't know it by the reaction, which would have been the same from her reguardless. "No, I'm terrible!" she cried dramatically. "This one is lost, and I'm going to starve alone in the dark, and my corpse will be devoured by insects!" Horrible creatures, those bugs.
"I just wanted to save them!" At that point, it appeared she was talking more to herself, babbling out whatever she should've been thinking. "I just don't want her to leave!"
It was a hidden fear, a secret one. She prefered it that way, especially because she knew it was silly.
Mother wouldn't really just forget about the other five of them and vanish with Tara one day. It was ridiculous to think that. But she did think that. She thought about it every time Hasana left to spend time with Tara she didn't bother spending with the rest of them. She thought about how it would be like for her four other sisters if their parents just decided the other five weren't worth it and took off.
