Vian shut his eyes, unable to hide the twitch of a smile. She was right, and he knew it. Why would she wait for him? It only made sense she'd continue on. He would have to find her again, if fate allowed. It seemed females were endlessly on his search list....first Adanna and now this Nzinga if he ever happened to find her. "Fair enough," he agreed with a nod as he looked back at her again with his soft gold eyes.

It was fair, she thought to herself, justified in her decision. Her heart still hurt, but she was already begining to accept the inevitable parting. She comforted herself that if it was meant to be, then he would come back to her someday. If not, well, then..at least she had had a taste of happiness.
Nzinga didn't know how to say goodbye. "So." She hesitated, wondering what parting words were appropriate. "Good luck finding your sister." Her words were stiff, detached. She was trying to distance herself from him while at the same time, memorizing every detail of his face, his voice. This may be the last time she ever saw him...it scared her and saddened her, but she tried not to show it; only save his face in her memory.

Vian understood there was little more to be said. Trying to force a conversation or a warmer parting would only make it more painful and difficult. He nodded his head slightly, his gold eyes holding a small sadness, "Thank you." He pulled away gently as he rose to his paws, his eyes never leaving her. "Well...fair well. I hope we meet again," he told her in a low, genuine tone. He then turned, letting his ears fill with the patter of his own pads hitting the ground as he walked away. If fate allowed, they'd reunite and perhaps see what they missed.
