Kiwi laughed with Toro, taking comfort in the casual relaxation of talking with her. It was a nice break from the havoc and mayhem of his cubs. He flicked his tail and grinned at her, shaking his head. "Just wait 'till you become a mother," he said with a gleam of amusement in his eyes. "I don't think you'll be laughing at me then! Oh no, I'll be the one enjoying your suffering." He bumped his shoulder to hers playfully.

"Oh, right," Toro sneered. "By the time I have cubs, your offspring will be old enough to have cubs of their own, and you'll be too worried about becoming a grandfather to make jabs at me!" She nipped at his ear, tugging in it lightly. "Yes, you'll be hearing the pitter-patter of little paws in no time... oh wait, those aren't paws, it's just your youth slipping away!"

"That's it!" he growled, eyes flashing. "I can take your snide comments, but implying that I'm old? Oh, no!" He gathered himself up so as to look imposing, which wasn't hard, since he was an exceptionally large lion. True, he couldn't hurt a fly if he wanted to, and Toro knew that, but he had to try to look threatening, right? "So long, Toro!"

He flung himself at her and the two rolled around, tussling in the grass. He nipped at her ear and she tugged at his mane. Finally, he pinned her to the ground, looking down at her triumphantly.

"Okay, okay!" she gasped, wide-eyed. "You're about as scary as a hare, but you're as big as an elephant and you're suffocating me! Getoffgetoff!"

Grinning, Kiwi stepped away from her, shaking himself off. Toro licked her paw quickly, a bit embarassed at having been pinned so easily.

The goddess wandered outside the border of the Pridelands uninterrupted. Her wings were tucked to her sides, dusk-purple gaze surveying the ground beneath her paws with every step she took... She was lost in surveying the bonds of those closest to her, just checking to be sure that there was progress being made... imagine her surprise when she came across one that was familiar to her.

That tie beloned between Kiwi and Moyo, the son in law and daughter of some of her pride's longest standing members, what a small world!

The lioness gave a small rustle of her wings as she drew to the top of a small cresting hill, gazing down over the two at play with a heart-warmed smile. It always made her feel good to see the bond between good friends, or in this case-- perhaps siblings? Their lines both tied to one lion, but then that lion tied to two others themselves, so they might all just know one another, but she thought it was more likely that they were half-siblings.

She didn't wish to intrude on the scene, so for the moment she remained silent, wings half-spread as if she debated taking flight again.

Kiwi padded up to Toroka, butting his forehead against her shoulder. "Ah, c'mon, Toro, lighten up! Maybe I can pin you to the ground, yeah, but you sure did a number on my stomach with your claws, if it's any consolation." He rasped his tongue over her cheek quickly. "So come on, can we keep..."

He stopped, lifting his head. His whiskers twitched and ears perked as a scent came to him. The fur along his spine stood up and he growled under his breath to Toro, "Stay there, and be quiet, okay?"

She smiled, but as soon as he stopped and growled an order, her tail flicked and she narrowed her dark eyes slightly. "Why?" she hissed in return.

"Just do it."

Normally the male was no where near as bossy, but after the unexpected murder of Mufasa, he had been extra alert. After all, he had a mate and four cubs to protect, and he could never let them down. Now, a figure sat atop a small rise in the land. He could not make out the features of the creature and a flare of panic rose in his mind. If this thing was threatening... what would he do? Kiwi was not one for denial. He knew that he was not a fighter. The scars the riddled his body, caused by his first (and most recent) 'fight', were proof of this.

But still, Toro was a friend of his, and he couldn't ignore this potential threat. He strode forward, his eyes focused on the goddess. Lifting his head, he called out, "Who are you?"

Not the kindest of greetings, perhaps, but he did not realize that this was a goddess, and the goddess of his mate's home pride nonetheless!

"My true nature isn't something tangible by mortal minds..." Kiva responded calmly, unintmidated by the male, despite the fact that he was quite larger than she herself. Kiva's childish uncertainty had slowly melted away with the seasons as she became fully aware of her prior lives.

The answer surely wasn't meant to sound arrogant, simply truthful. Further proof of the role that she'd come to fully accept at this point in time.

"But in the mortal realm I'm known as Kiva, goddess of Unity. I apologize if I startled you, Kiwi, I mean you and your companion no harm."

Kiwi did not seem offended by the statement, though for a brief moment he seemed confused. Mortal?... he thought, frowning.

Then he noticed the wings protruding from from her shoulderblades, and listened to her introduction.

He was silent for a few moments, gazing at her with mild disbelief. In all his travels, he had never met a 'higher being', and there was a certain shock that came with that first meeting. And Kiva! The goddess of unity! He had heard Moyo, and even her family, mention this very same goddess. This being above him seemed almost ethereal, and in a way, he thought, she really was.

"I'm, uh, I'm sorry," he stammered, feeling quite embarassed about being so rude. "I, well, didn't think... I didn't..."

He swallowed and offered her a meek smile. "I'm Janikiwiti... though I suppose you already know that. And this," he said, jerking his head back, "is my friend, Toroka."

Kiwi turned around and offered Toro a smile.

Toro watched quietly as Kiwi confronted the stranger. When he smiled, she took it as an invitation to join them, so she rose to her paws and padded lithely to his side. The lioness tilted her head back to see who had had been talking to, and when she saw the wings, a wide smile crossed her lips.

"Wow," she said breathlessly. "A real goddess, huh? My name is Toroka. Huh, I can't say I've ever met a goddess! This is too cool." She offered Kiva a warm grin.

(By the way, I don't know what sort of information you need, so I'll just info-dump right here. xD Kiwi and Toro share a father, Sabili. Kiwi's mother was a Pridelander and he never knew his father. Toro's mother... uh, has no name xD; She abandoned Toro when she was a cub, so Toro never knew either of her parents. Kiwi is extremely curious about his father, but Toro could care less about either of her parents.

Also, Sabili is still alive, as is Toro's mom, but Kiwi's mother is deceased, which he doesn't know. He left her when he was a juve to try and find his place in life.)

"There is no harm done, so there is no need to apologize." Kiva soothed, clearly unoffended. Her expression shifted a bit into a soft smile as she looked towards Toroka, somewhat somber though she did seem to be radiating a definite contentment. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Toroka, and I'm honored to be your first then..." She chuckled softly.

Though Kiva was perplexed. She was certain that they both had a bond with a single lion, and since that bond seemed equally weak, she would assume it to be a deceased or missing parent...

"Kiwi, how is Moyo? And... oh, four new little ones to welcome into the family as well...?"

Here, the goddess' smile actually turned a bit mischevious, a warm tease. She didn't know all the going on's with dispersed members, but she specifically noted the four new threads tied between Janikiwiti and Moyo. Did Tanashita and Kifijo, and all of their cubs, realize that they were grandparents and uncles and aunts yet?

"It seems that your parents legacy grows more each time that I see one of you!" Came the cheerful afterthought as the reincarnated being folded her wings and seated herself neatly where she stood, welcoming them to come closer for conversation.

Toroka fidgeted and when the welcome was extended, she padded towards the goddess with a cublike enthusiasm. Still amazed at the situation - after all, what were the chances of meeting a goddess? - she sat down, wrapping her tail around her haunches. Her brown eyes widened with surprise as Kiva easily named Moyo and seemed to know they had just had four cubs. It was like one trick after another with immortals!

"Wow, how did you know?" she asked before Kiwi had a chance to reply. "You said you're the goddess of unity, right? Is that one of your... uh... powers?" The lioness had clearly never learned much about the gods.

Kiwi blinked, slightly taken aback, but he thought it rather polite of Kiva to ask. "Moyo is fine, as are our cubs," he said, more than a hint of pride in his voice. "Three boys and a girl... Tain, Teke, Kaikura and Auri." A soft purr escaped his throat, unable to hold it back.

Then he tilted his head, strands of his great shaggy mane falling into his eyes. "Do you... know Moyo?" he asked, his curiousity sparked by her last remark. He certainly couldn't remember her ever mentioning a goddess before, and silently he hoped she hadn't, because that'd be rather bad if he couldn't remember her telling him something that great.
