Found this yesterday: Doctor Who Movie on the way?...and can't find anything else on it. It sounds like a complete hoax to me. Does anyone have any ideas about it?

That's the first I've heard of it. I would try and find out more, but my dad's making me go to bed because my head got smushed in a minibus door this afternoon and it's making me feel a bit funny.

I'm sure if it was true, we would have heard loads more about it by now :'( But still...thought it was worth posting, in case it has any truth to it at all... Wait, I've just noticed, in the next cult article, there's this - Quote: ...Meanwhile, a spokesman for the BBC show told Digital Spy that there is "no truth whatsoever" in a reports of a Doctor Who movie that will reunite Billie Piper with David Tennant following their parting of the ways last season. Where does this stuff come from?

RTD has said he wouldn't mind doing a film, but he's also said that it wouldn't be for ages because they're concentrating on the series. Billie and David have also expressed interest. Billie was asked on Jonathan Ross if she would and I read an interview with David where he said he wouldn't mind.

I've been looking everywhere for a squeak of authentic information about it!

I was just passing through when i looked at this and thought, WOW!! A Doctor Who movie, that would be something. Yet what would they put in, where would they start and how long would it be.
I expect that all the stuff we have seen so far, without series 3 would be too long anyway!!
So, my first thought when i finished reading was, is there anymore information on this!!

It talks about rumors that the BBC was going to fund them to do a Doctor Who movie.

Thanks Erina!! The more people are talking about it...the more I'm wondering if it's true?! I've read / heard that BP is quite upset still about leaving DW, so I'm guessing if they asked her back for a movie, she'd come back...

If they made a movie and billie piper was in it, they'd have too have a way of getting her back from the parralel universe and the storie of that would probably be long enough. If she slipped universes the story of finding how, why andgetting her back and fixing it add in the romance, drama and friction between her and whoever the doctors sidekick is then, you've probably got a long enough film. Coz a film only lasts on average for 2 1/2 h (thats about 3 episodes).
I hope they make a movie but if its only a rumour then it could be years before it happens, the simpson movie was a rumour and thattook 18 years tooo make! (though i dont imagine that doctor who would take even half that time!)

Or they just set it on one of the many adventures they had that weren't televised? Like, the one when they were hopping for their lives, or something else. We dont see EVERYTHING they do xd
