@Alain: Yes this laptop's system malfunctioned. -_-; (Normally I'd laugh but computer stuff is making me scream right now. All the tutorials I'm finding are too technical. x_x

@Peles: If there wasn't one more year of warrenty on this thing I would have taken it to another shop. But I've looked into that software. Some of the prices. @_@ I wish I had money.

@Shoy: Is there a "Reformatting for Dummies" guide or anything like that around. Does using the windows XP disk that came with the computer wipe out all the softwarebecause if it does it would be great on this computer.

@Sin: Closest thing I have is a start up guide and windows manual that explains nothing. I'm trying to get some help from them now. Long wait times suck. -_-;
As far as I know, I would say it does.
I'm not quite sure though.

Google on how to reformat a harddrive?

X_x; Agh. Reinstalling an OS should.
How to delete the old OS I have no clue how.

I'll ask my dad at dinner. :3 He's the one who's done it for me before. XD

Well reinstaling the OS did nothing. I did find out that it's running an NTS something like that version of windows xp. Now I'm just trying to find a way to delete Windows from the BIOS directory but I'm stuck. So any help there will be great. ^^

----Now to play KH and beat the crap out of the opponents in the Colosseum to help me feel less x_x. ^^

Insom, Toastie's mother used to do computer reformats on her old computer.
She had a set of instructions from a class she took. Toastie will find them for you if she can.

The only problem, is that the computer reformatting involves having made a back-up disc for your computer. If you've got one, bravo! but if not.. Toastie's not sure the instructions she has will do anything.

Also.. have you tried asking them to do a complete wipe of your computer?
Toastie's parents took her old computer to a guy who lived out of town and got him to do a wipe of the computer's hard drive, and then re-install windows.

It usually fixes everything. And they really should do it for you without making you buy another warranty. If not, there's surely someone out there who will.

Yeah, they wanted more than $100 to do a complete wipe. I decided to do it myself after that. I got the back up CD's the computer came with and all my data on an external.

If you could find those instructions it would really help. Putting in a OS CD and rebooting is doing nothing. x_x

Thanks so much Toastie. ^^

Finally got it to work. ^^

After restarting the 4th time and switching from the F10 and F8 menus (and hitting the keyboard >.>; ) I finally got it to recognize the XP home CD that came with the computer.

woo.

The instructions that toastie's mother has includes going into my computer and there's some sort of option to wipe the computer..

not sure. Toastie only ever saw it once, and she can't find it.
D:
She was going to ask her mother if she knew where it was, but since you've fixed it, you probably don't need it anymore.

Unless you'd like them. :3
