Snow.
Snow.
More snow.
Sora ambled and padded through the woods mindlessly, letting his feet drag him to an unknown destination. Thoughts continued to bombard his every train of thought as it left him silently pondering. Riku would never believe him- he'd flip once he found that Sora was in love. How it happened was by chance; meeting the wolfess, Mable, who was hiding in a berry bush while he was scavanging for a good meal. She was sweet, innocent and had seemed to capture his heart so easily. He never had been a real ladies charmer but he must of done something right to find love and a mate.
But one question still remained: Where was Riku?
He hadn't seen his best friend in so long and their last adventure together was hazy in his recollection.
His tail swayed behind him in a nonchalant manner as he continued traversing upon a somewhat well trodded pathway. Weaving and perusing through the forest, Sora shook his head while, about his neck, his silver crown necklace clanked and rattled softly.
"He's gotta be somewhere," he mused softly as he tilted his head slightly. Slowing down as he hadn't a clue in the world, he stumbled towards a small clearing and settled down on his haunches. Glancing about his surroundings, he rumbled with a small chuckle. "And I'll find him."
Sora wasn't really upset, he was- well, confused or just too perplexed to even focus. Even as his heart was swelling and his emotions were consumed with love, the young adult with the tapered, spikey hair wasn't going to give up on finding his best friend.
Slinking down onto his stomach, he flickered his ears and curled his tail around him. "Well," he mused with a small laugh, "I guess I'll just rest here for now." Closing his eyes as he began basking underneath the sun, Sora sighed softly and began to drift into a light sleep.
A wandering wolf needed his sleep and now was the perfect time.

He'd wandered off again. Riku had a habit of doing that. Even having been good friends with Sora for as long as he had, Riku sometimes still went off on his own as if craving solitude. Usually he could be found sitting and staring into the distance, mulling over things. Still.
Usually Sora came looking for him, or Riku went looking for Sora and found him not far from where he'd left him. This time though, Sora was no where to be found. He must've been gone longer than he thought, and Sora--
"Probably got himself lost..." Riku muttered under his breath, nosing through some bushes and giving his messy fur a shake to clear his eyes once again.
The two loners were a team though, and Riku would -only- admit to being worried to Sora.
There was his scent now, Riku realized, and began to relax as nothing seemed wrong. He'd probably gone off on his own and met some new wolves to try to befriend.
"Geez Sora, you're such a lazy bum. Here I am looking all over for you and you're taking a nap." The silver furred male snorted, biting and tugging at one of Sora's ears under the mop of brown.

Reflecting upon the silence and lazily flopped over within the snow, Sora jostled from his sleep when the familiar voice of his best friend awakened him. Perking his ears upwards as a broad smile slid across his maw, Sora stirred.
"Riku!" He exclaimed just as his silver pelted buddy began to bite and tug at his ear. "Hey! I was looking for you this whole time but I just needed to rest for a bit," chuckling as he pawed at Riku's muzzle, Sora shook his head and his toppled hair of spikes. Rolling onto his stomach, the brown wolf with the odd patterns stretched his forepaws forwards and slinked upwards onto all fours as a wide grin broadened across his maw.
"Where did you go this time? I looked in the same spot but I probably got lost," he laughed. It was true; Sora always seemed to get distracted and found himself lost because he was searching to meet new friends. Unlike Riku who always kept a set train of thought, Sora was scattered and overrun in his share of needs, ideas and curiosity.
Settling down on his haunches, Sora thumped his tail merrily behind him as a small yawn escaped from his maw, a wreath of fog dispelling from his open mouth. A bit sleepy still, he blinked his eyes and shook his head.
"Oh! I met a girl!" He chimed with glee. "She's really nice, Riku. Her name's Mable."

For a moment, all Riku could do was stare and blink. Sora's ear was abruptly released. He knew in an instant what he had to do.
Tease the hell out of Sora.
"You're sweet on her. Aren't you? Don't bother denying it." He smirked tamely, in that cocky way of his. It was all he could do to hide his full out mirth. He was sure that Sora would be hurt if he just outright laughed, and he wasn't out to do that. As for Sora agreeing he probably got lost, Riku had only listened as the brunette wolf went on. He was quiet by nature, where as Sora was more chatty, so there were often times when Sora could bubble on in a good mood while Riku only offered the ocassional quip of opinion or advice. It wasn't surprising.

Sora's ears fell back against his skull as his cerulean orbs widened. He wasn't going to easily slip out of this one and he was certain that Riku knew that he had actually found a true lover.
"What? Oh, no not like that. I mean-," Riku was right; he couldn't deny it nor lie right to his best friends face. Shrugging his shoulders and shaking his head, Sora chuckled. "Okay, so it's serious, I'll be honest. I really, really like her and she likes me to. This can really go somewhere and you have to admit that for a guy like me that was a one in a million chance to find love." Sora always chatted, more than Riku and in a way to hold conversation or just to break the silence. No other wolf could put up with him but, thankfully, he had Riku by his side through thick and thin just as he always would be for him as well.
"Maybe since I've got a girl I'm the better looking one," he jested, a playful grin spread wide across his maw as he slinked low in a playful manner with his tail and bum waving in the air.

Riku blinked again, this time a bit distracted by his own mirth. His grinning turned to a short lived chuckle, which faded almost as soon as it began. "What?"
~He's serious?~
Well, that was more than fine in Riku's book, but the older male's expression quickly soured into a frown of disagreement, his posture stiffening up a bit as he straightened and his ears perked-- "Mrrr." --a low pitched disagreement in his tone at Sora's jest.
"What, your ugly mug? Oh please. If you're the better looking one, then why is this mystery girl your first?" Riku smirked almost mysteriously, rising to his paws again and starting to follow the trail Sora left, batting his tail in the brown wolf's face good naturedly.

What else was there to say?
Sora was happy.
But his witty comment didn't seem to hold well with Riku, especially with that typical frown that slipped across his maw and the way he always stiffened up in his posture and gave that stern, serious expression.
The young adult chuckled softly, a small sheepish grin plastered upon his maw as he shook his head and caused his toppled, spikey hair to sway. His brows seemed to furow slightly as Riku began to pad upon the same trail he had left but a face full of fur caught him off guard.
"Hey!" He exclaimed with a rupture of laughter as his friends tail swatted at his face. Shaking his head, Sora chased after him. "Riku! Where are you going now? Why don't you come with me and you can meet her. Mable has a pack and maybe we can join it unless you wanna keep roaming around together."
Sora's typical, happy grin spread wide across his lips as his calm, cerulean blue eyes that were a blaze with hope looked onwards towards Riku awaiting on what his opinion or thoughts would be.
"What do you think?"
