Joaquin had been on his back since after dinner. He had been forced to clear away the dishes and therefore he had every right to rest. And knowing his adopted 'sister' was going to try to get him to do more around the house, he decided to simply sneak out and take a nap under the starry sky. He breathed in the evening, stretching before resting his head on the grassy ground.
His thoughts turned to the sparkling pin-points of light, wondering why they shone only at night.

He walked though the woods... running his hand over the rough bone of the horse skull hung, for now from his belt by red ribbons...strung from its jaws like some morbid may pole...
"I do wish you'd wake up..." he said quietly..."I know your sleeping..." though in the dark of the evening he couldn't quite remember why....sometimes...between the day and the night...the slim time called gloaming he almost did... but it always slipped away in a haze of sun or stars.
he blinked owlishly to see someone setteling down on the grass beneath the open sky... he'd not talked to many others sine the rather nasy wake up in the spider webbing...
"...nice night..."

Joaquin stiffened at the approaching sound, did Flerida manage to track him down? Why did she have to be so... what was the word? Uptight. Especially whenever anything involved him. He relaxed when he realized the voice did not belong to his adopted sister.
"Sure is. Not too chilly even." he smiled, folding an arm beneath his neck. "My sister didn't send you out to look for me, did she?"

"..." he pauses consideringly... "No... I don't know her...I was...just out walking."
He turns to look up at the stars... names...some of them have names...or was it all of them...or both...he remembers some... he can't remember if their the right ones though..
"Your sister dosen't like you out at night?"

Joaquin relaxes visibly and breathes a sigh of relief. "My sister doesn't mind if I'm outside or inside, it's more that she thinks I don't do enough around the house. I've been in Hameln for what? Less than a week and she expects me to do a MOUNTAIN of chores."
An exaggeration really, all Flerida wanted him to do was a couple of things like keep his room clean, and wash the dishes once in a while. He had never been asked to clean the actual house, nor was he asked to manage the garden. But Keen hated work of any sort, even if it was for the common good. Work always equated wasted time to the adult.

"Joaquin," was his simple response. "But I think it's too long, so just call me Keen." he shrugged. "Do you have a place to stay, Sam?" he found himself asking. If the boy hadn't been in Hameln long, had he been roughing it?

"Keen then..." he nodded...and thought about being called Sam...alright...sam it was then...
"Are there places I'm not supposed to stay? I don't recal..." He said looking down... half tempted to pull up his macabre 'hood'

Joaquin casually glanced towards the young boy, "I don't think there are any forbidden spots here, at least 'Pid didn't tell me anything about that. I was asking if you've got a home or a place to sleep." he clarified. Not that he was volunteering Huni's house. It was cramped enough with all those damn cats running around.

"Nah, it doesn't really matter so long as you don't mind sleeping outside." Keen shrugged, "I like napping outside, but having a roof over your head when it rains is kinda something I prefer as opposed to getting soaked and waking up with a cold." he chuckled.
A loud yawn, "Do I what? Have a house? Well it's not mine, but I get free lodging and all I need to do is 'earn' my keep. But the owner's a real pushover, so I figured I'd be able to get by no problem. Turns out it's her daughter that's the pain in the neck. My 'sister' as they insist I call her." He makes a face. "Iffin' you need a place to crash, I'm pretty sure we could fix the couch up right so Riddy can sleep on it and you can sleep in her room."
