Okay, I don't get perms anymore. I also have really thick hair that has a mind of it's own. xd
I currently get my hair braided (mainly by relatives, or friends of relatives - maybe that's my problem xd sweatdrop ), but everytime, someone always comments about how I should get a perm. No, they say "You need a perm." stare
So, is there a way for me to continue taking care of my hair without frying and basically destroying it with foreign chemicals?
Any hair care tips?
**Btw, I don't care if you or anyone else gets a perm. As long as it's completely your choice, and as long as you don't have that attitude that straight hair is better.

Ew at relaxers. They're not good for your hair at all in my opinion. It breaks mine off... right now.. well. Right now my hair is just all over my head.. HOWEVER (lol) I don't have a relaxer, but I do have to flat iron my hair really good every few days.. and when the 'kicthen' gets bad, I hand over the hot comb to my mom. But I try to avoid using heat on it so much. If I flip it all out one day.. I'll but it up the next and usually there is still a bit of curl in my hair so my hair doesn't look foolish. Depending on the climate you live in, you CAN get away with lots of hair oil and a straightener... You could always keep your hair in braids and vary the designs and stuff. That's what I did for a while... OR You could wear it natural.
And I feel you on the hair with the mind of it's own. stare

I was thinking about that! The only thing that discourages me from that is that you have to cut them out when your done with them. But I heard there was a new method so you don't have to cut the locks out...
