you're lucky they still even talk to eachother.
and you're lucky that its so peaceful. I came home one night from a school skate night type thingy and my dad had left a note on the table for me and my mom, saying he took our van and a case of beer.
and when i got dropped off, he stormed home, thinking that my mom was having an affair. and they started fighting. and she told him to leave.
and just the other day he cussed her out.
but yeah.
all i can say is that the worst part is gonna be seeing them moving on. it took me a while to accept my stepdad. XD

I've kinda been avoiding thinking about that, but I will have to face it eventually. They're in their early 40s, so it wouldn't surprise me if they started dating again. My little brother and I asked them to please not start dating or whatever until we're emotionally ready for it, though.

D: I'm soo sorry Ina. I've never really experienced something like that... My grandparents have been married for like fifty years, I don't think they have any divorce plans coming up any time soon. ._.' I have a few friends with divorced parents... When my good friend's mom springed the divorce on her dad (I think before I knew her), her dad started going crazy and breaking stuff. My friend ran out of the house and hid in the bushes at her best friend's house (who lives right across the street but is never home). The cops were called and stuff. Uhmyeah, messy divorces aren't fun. o.o My other friend's parents got divorced, though, and they still live in the same neighborhood. I remember one Halloween, when we still had to have a parent with us, her dad came and picked us all up when we were tired of walking. We got in the car and her mom was talking to her dad like good friends that had never had sex or a child together. <.< Riiight...

@Juria: ^^ That's how I'm hoping my parents will be (still able to talk like good friends). It's going good so far in that way; my dad is helping my mom buy furniture and groceries for her new apartment. ^_^

But seriously, divorce is never a good thing, but luckily your case is one of the better ones so you should be thankful that they aren't all grrr at each other and still friends. I had a situation some what sort of like that I while back. My mom started dating again and one of her first was a guy she knew from high school. They went on and off for a while and finally decided they didn't really see each other as getting married to each other. They're still friends and we sometimes do stuff together.
So yeah, I hope things work out between them.
