My neice is watching a DVD called The Wiggles, and it's a live performance type DVD... and they were singing a song, and the LIGHTS WERE SO COOL! It was obvious they had intel lights, plus the reg. ones... at my theatre it would be parkans I think.. anyways...

Do you ever watch TV (shows on stages like American Idol ect...) or go to professional musicals and such and pay more attention to the tech ness of it rather than the actually musical? I know I do...

Sometimes I do. If it's a show I've seen before, I'll pay more attention to the lights, sound system, set, etc. I also try to use intermission to do that. ^_^

All the time, I catch myself counting lekos and Fresnels instead of watching the show.....I like compareing my theatre to the professional ones as well as other college and highschool theatres.

i always look out for lighting rigs on live shows...and i'm always looking out for the mistakes that the techs make not out of badness but it often gives you an idea at what their using

Always. The first thing I do when I walk into the theatre is look for the lighting booth, then at the rigs.

Some of the lighting they used on American Idol last year made me sick. Some very poor choses were made.

I haven't done show lighting for about a year and I miss it and can't wait to go back, so I'm always on the look out for new and creative ways to improve my designs.

Oh man, all the time. My friends are probably really annoyed by it.

My friends get mad when I start rambling about tech ness stuff. They just look at my like I'm stupid because they don't understand it. But then when I'm with other techies I get annoyed because some of them know more than me. Haha.

My school went to see wicked and we were all ready to see if their scene changes took longer than ours did. Too bad their scene changes weren't actull lights out type changes. Oh well.

Definitely. I saw a touring company production of Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and spent the entire half hour while the house was open staring at the set and judging it. At one point, I leaned over to my mom and said, "Betcha ten bucks those stairs move."

When we go to plays with our drama dept. you can always tell the techies from the non-techs....we are in constant jabber about the play before it even starts while the rest of the people are chatting about what they have due the next school day. Its entertaining, and it always gives me new ideas for when I light a show.

Yes I do. I'm always like THE LIGHTS. AHHH. Only show where I got to distracted by the amazing-ness of the show it sefl was Wicked. About halfway thorugh dancing Through Life they lost my interest (but they were still really cool xx)

At shows that use spotlights, I constantly criticize them for being shaky, and playing the game of where is the actor. Because My spotlight in the show of joeseph and the colorful coat, It got mentioned by the cappies, for being so good, and non shaky.
