Fort Tunis is the base of operations for the Federation Expansionary Defense Fleet and is based near the gas giant of Hitunis in the Yunis system. All other planets in the Yunis system are dead planets, uncapable of sustaining life. The only feature of this system is Fort Tunis and the Federation naval presense. Fort Tunis plays home to a half a million troops and naval personnel and can have twenty Federation ships docked with it at once.

A Federation battlefleet reverts to realspace towing a heavily damaged FEDF warship in their midst. The ship docks with the station and repairs begin immediately. Reports are flying about a gigantic Halo, a space station that has a class M atmosphere; reports of the UNSC and Forerunner peoples; and another report of attack by the Forgotten Legion, the evolution of their enemy the KCSF. The Federation fleet broke up and headed in different directions, with the two Super Dreadnaughts headed toward Dojouro.
