I've read some articles in the past concerning the Muslim women wearing the burqua to airports and recently some countries are asking those women to remove their burquas for security purposes. People think it goes against the freedom to practice religion, but it's for the best.
Seriously.
If I go into the airport wearing a ski mask, I'll be asked to take it off for security purposes, obviously. Why shouldn't this be any different? Because it's religion. Yeah, well maybe we can get some female officers to see that they aren't carrying any weapons. Then it's okay, right?
Now I'm wondering what you guys think.

As long as they arn't inspected my male officers, I think it is perfectly ok. That woul be the perfect disguise for someone carrying bombs, or a gun or knife.

^_^ well .. i think that people aren't supposed to cover their faces up when going to the airport... wearing a veil is fine but...covering ur face seems soo...well...easy to commit a crime..and plus..if anything bad happens they'll blame it on those who cover their faces..even if they didnt do anything xd

wearing a veil basically puts you as a target saying "hey look at me, im a potential terrorist"
if you wear a veil, you should be prepared that everyone is scared of you and will look at you awkwardly in fear. It wont change after whats happened in the past. So yeah, its better if you just take the veil off but isnt it about the whole dignity, right of freedom and religous going to make them keep it on. If they refuse. they know and we know what will happen. so if they do it. they're probably prepared.
im not a women, so as a man im saying this in uttermost subtley. I think they should take it off.

They pulled me in a room and had my take of my scarf and jacket. Then the searched me. By women, but still.

Would be good to be done by women officers or workers , but if it happened to be a male , then you cant do much about it...i mean you need to think about it.., their doing it for the safety of people and your safety as well and your family , if it happened to ask you to take off your veil or anything else , its an excuse here and God surely will understand..
Security is good and at times religous freedom and such cant work with it all the time. 3nodding

I understand it if someone wants someone to remove a burqa or niqab for security purposes.
But asking someone to remove a regular scarf doesn't seem necessary. Not because of religious reasons but because it simply isn't a big deal.
If they do that they might as well have everyone with a hat, hoodie, jacket. etc remove theirs too for security reasons.

Why shouldn't this be any different? well...first off i have yet to hear of a religion where you need to wear a ski mask but i see your point xd i may still be pretty ignorant about the Muslim faith but i don't think you should have to remove a burqa or a niqab....i mean, you have to draw the line somewhere. i remember seeing a cartoon after security was insanely high in airports of someone running a metal detector over a little boy and the caption "where do we start using common sense?" underneath..... i think if it would be really embarassing for the person, they should be allowed to go into a closed room w/guards of that same gender....however i think (like thetimehascome wrote) searching someone is a little overboard....
