ok. i am in love, with my friend, who is a guy. i have been friends w/ him since the third grade. going in and out of being best friends. i have loved him for three years and he never knew. until two weeks ago. my friend called him up and told him that i had a "thing" for him. which isn't completly true. i don't have a "thing" for him. i love him. so now, we go back to school today and he isn't there.
but i digress.

this bothers me becuase i love him so much and i would do anything to go out with him. but i don't think he feels the same way back. i can't tell him the whole truth though. whenever i try, i freak out and change the subject.
i want him to know that i'm serious about this love thing. how do i get it across to him?

::UPDATE::

okay. my friend "acedentally" asked him out for me. she asked him if he wanted to go the movies w/ me on friday. he blankly said," hell no."
i wanted to die.
but here's the thing, it wasn't me, and he was around his friends.

One of the hardest things in life is being truthful. If you're wanting to take your current friendship and evolve it into a relationship, you should start with baby steps. Try inviting him to do things where it's just you and him. Don't label them dates, because honestly, the word 'date' doesn't mean anything. Have fun together. Tell him things about how you like spending time with him. If he's any regular guy, he'll pick up on the fact that you're giving him attention, therefore you must at least like him a little in the 'more than friends' way. Eventually you'll have to face the music and tell him how you feel. At that point, be completely honest. I've always said, and will always continue to say, that the best relationships often start out as awesome friendships.

The worst that can happen is him saying "I don't feel the same way." What happens after that is up to you.
