*laughs* Awesome! Finally someone in Jazz Band! =)

This was my first (and last year...graduating 8th grader crying ) and I got in as First Alto and ever since I started loving Jazz to so much! Ehehe...I wanna be a musician ^_^

Anyway, I'm no big pro or expert on Jazz yet...but there are a few songs that I love ^_^

Biji by Sonny Rollins (I think...) is probably my favorite song.

But my favorite branches of jazz are Funk, Swing, Shuffle, and Bop. Usually the upbeat stuff...ehehe.

I love the old cracky jazz...especially when it's a complete chaos, it's really cool to listen to. Also when there's already complete chaos it's not easy to find people playing bad tones mrgreen

IMO, I never caught the real professional ones playing one single error...

Ehehe...in Jazz Band, they tell us that if we make a mistake, you play it again so people don't know it's a mistake and think we meant to do it...

Professionals mess up a lot actually and they do just that. Guess it works after all.

Either they do that, or they improv around it so it sounds cooler.

HEck ya! I love Jazz. I was in the alum rock jazz band last year. Now I'm an alumni. I listen to Jazz on the radio all the time. I'm even taking jazz for the summer. I'm basically the same as Dust Dancer cuz were in it together. The only difference is that I love Jazz a little longer than her and have more experience then her and I play the trumpet.

I absolutely adore Jazz! I play in the rhythm section of Port City, which is the vocal jazz group at my high school. The class is a zero period though, which I hate. I have to go to school at 6:30am!! *whine* LAWL. It's so hard to improvise that early!
