Buffy, almost hands down. Maybe because I knew it first... But nah, Buffy has a more solid plot with a more together cast.

Angel, in 3rd and 4th season, the plot and characters kinda scatter and it doesn't have a very solid foundation. It wraps it up near the end of the 4th season and the 5th, and that's part of what I liked about it. They made it out. But I'm sure Angel lost a lot of viewers in that time of ... scattery-ness.

Angel DEFINATELY has it's moments, but Buffy had more time to really get a grasp on what it was.

I love both charaters but I too, lean more towrads Buffy but in some episodes I like Angel better.

I love them both, but i voted Angel just cos of the plots and stuff like the characters being better, its more grownup than Buffy is. But the way it ended was just horrible crying

The plot does seem more solid in Buffy through and through. I started to really enjoy Angel near the end. Not the very laxt season, but close to it.

A lot of people say that Angel had a more grown up or mature feeling. That's kind of true. I mean they didn't censor as much. (Ex: I fall to pieces, the hands go down to rape the victim) But Angel is already 200+ years. Buffy started out 15-16 years old.

They went through growing up on Buffy. Season 6, when Buffy was an adult, THEN they dove into more mature settings. They didn't even cover up attempted rape with a sheet like they did in Angel. They went into such extreme mature subjects in Season 6, Season 5 too (hello single parent-hood. Which continued in S.6 with Buffy getting a job with only a high-school diploma)

And Season 7 the goodness sort of poked it's head out of the ocean and said Hey it's not the end of the world. (Unless the First comes -buddum-CSH!) Sometimes we can work it out. Not always (Xander&Anya), but sometimes it gets better.

Now if that's not mature enough to compete with Angel, then I'll eat a kitten.

Now I am a ery big Buffy fan and for a while I thought that I was number one because I would wait in line to get the DVD's when they came out and I have them all. I watched them religiously. Then Angel came along and yes at times it was very cheesy but I liked how defined the characters were and they grew alot. It is about equal for me but if I was forced to choose it would be Angel because of the depth of the characters. Buffy I really loved Willow.
