I miss marching band. T.T And.. band in general. Really just.. can't afford the time commitment now with my classes and such and stuffages. The Cougar Marching Band definitely did not work out with my schedule.. nor have the other bands.

I played flute in 5th grade and was colorguard captain for 2 of the four years i was in colorguard in highschool. I thought about being in colorguard in college, but my college doesn't even have a football team, let alone a marching band.

I know one of the Tenor Drum players in the Cougar Marching band! She was a senior last year, and the best percussionist in the high school. She's the daughter of my stake president, and she's an overall really nice person.
Anyways, I'm in MB, and now on WinterLine. Last year in MB, I was in pit (I love pit!!!), played the marimba (I claimed my high school's marimba and my junior high's, even though I don't go there anymore), then was Marimba One for WinterLine, and then I decided to try out for DL, Drumline, because I'm not a very good percussionist, needed the experience, thought it'd be fun, and I didn't think I'd make it. Well, as it would turn out, I made Baby Bass, and I actually complained about being on DL for the first month or two or three... Lol. As it would turn out, I loved being on DL, and marching, though I'm no good at it. And I still am for Pep band, but for WinterLine, I ended up in pit, Marimba Two crying , and some squashmore, who doesn't really know a thing about percussion OR marching, ended up on MY drum. Grr... It makes me mad. Sorry for the rants.
And I'm also in "regular" band, the top band in my school, Royal Band, as one of seven percussionists, but there were only supposed to be six, and some sophomore (sp?) also got put in the class. The director wasn't happy about it, he also got like six flutes that weren't supposed to be there, since one has to audition to be in the class. But anyways, I tried out for Royal Band as a percussionist around the time I was doing DL clinics, and I didn't think I'd make Royal Band, because my older brother, who's a senior this year, is a better percussionist. Well, I made it into Royal band, and I'm still the worst percussionist. crying
My bestest friend plays flute, and my best friends play trumpet, french horn, and percussion, but the one who plays percussion was in orchestra, played viola, then he saw the light and became a percussionist. He's only been playing since June this year, and he's already WAY better than me, and I've been playing since seventh grade, so about five years. I'm proud and jealous of him. sweatdrop Sadly, I even get depressed about it from time to time.
I'm now trying out for Drum Major just because I can. I can't say that there's no way I'd make Drum Major because last time I was saying things like that, I made DL and Royal Band.
Lol...Tangents... sweatdrop :

I was in band and Jazz band in high school, and played the trombone. Our school had and has the best band/jazzband in the state of Utah as far as high schools go. We supposedly played on a college level, and even had a combined concert with the University of Utah. They have one of the best bands for their level of playing as well.
