Quests work much like leveling-up in an RPG game, like Final Fantasy.
Quests may be randomly assigned, be a general quest, or may be part of a plot in the thread. Some quests may be available to any Ulaya, others may be only available to some. And others may only be available to a certain number of your Ulaya.
Once you gain enough points, which will be kept track of in this sticky thread, you will receive a PM asking if you'd like to change the rank of your Ulaya. In this PM, you will also receive a list of the ranks that are available to you at that time. Once you use those points, they're gone and you start with zero again (or whatever the new balance is).
Random Assigned Quests:
These Quests can be of any difficulty, from simple, like finding a picture of something, to extremely difficult, like tracking down a user who posted something or finding an image posted somewhere in the thread or in a thread one of our regulars visit.
If you get a randomly assigned quest, you will receive a PM with the quest and the number of points your Ulaya will gain.
General Quests:
General Quests will be listed in the next post and are normally quite easy. General quests are open to anyone and as many Ulaya as you'd like to participate may do so. You don't need to PM when you are starting the quest, but once you finish the quest, you must PM the mule with the answer or completed quest.
The number od points your Ulaya will gain when completing this quest will be listed below the quest.
In-Thread Plot Quests:
These will be very rare and normally very difficult, but rewards are great.
Plot Quests reward the most points and often can up-rank your Ulaya when completed.
Special Quests:
Special quests will often not give points. These quests will be needed to upgrade your Ulaya to a certain rank, like seer. More information will be released about special quests at another point in time.
Points needed to upgrade to the next rank:
KEY: current rank -> new rank = # of points
common (red) -> placement rank (ex: hunter/peridot) = 20 points
common -> Seer (light blue) = 75 points & special quest
