Kain had slashed two more Latium soldiers that got in his way before noticeing that the katana wielding women was attacking him in a bold but yet foolish manner with a leaping overhead strike. The Dragon of Lodis began to laugh as he was highly amused by her look of determination in her eyes. Turning his complete attention towards Chloe, Kain said, "So you wish to kill me and prove to the world that you are not some mere wench amongst a world run by men. Just know that I won't treat you any differently because of your gender." Kain then followed Chloe's example and leapt at her with the intent of meeting her blow head on with one of his own; although, he was known for making devasting aerial attacks with his lance rather than his longsword, which was currently his only means of weaponry other than hand-to-hand combat.
The remaining 15 soldiers of Lodis began to line up into a small phalanx-like formation and began an all out charge against the Latium militia.

Chloe smirked as her blade collided with Kain's in a mid-air power clash. She had completely ignored his comment, she was completely focused on fighting this battle, he was just another soldier for her to put in the ground, and move on. She twisted her body and placed her foot on the back of the blade and pushed with full strength, much like one would normally do with their free hand. Her flexibility, and great leg strength would add much more force behind the slash than your average two handed technique.
Maya had climbed up on to her roof to watch the battle. Chloe was right, Maya couldn't hide her urge for battle. She just had to watch it take place. It was a good example of what would happen once Lodis' full force arrived in a few months time. She knew she would have to fight then, everyone would. Latium's army was large, but she was certain it wouldn't matter. Lodis would have the support of all the other kingdoms by then most likely, and their would most likely be a massacre. It would take a miracle of some sort to aide Latium.

Kain quirked an eyebrow at Chloe's actions and began to realize he was losing in the power struggle. He tried pushing back but in his efforts he slid off the attackwhich just barely missing the top of his head thanks to the extra force Chloe had used. Although Kain was safe for the moment, he came to realize that he was sent hurling towards the ground a lot faster than he anticipated and crashed with a solid thump. Slightly dazed from the initial impact, Kain saw a familiar gleam coming straight down at him. Moving on pure instinct alone, the Dragon of Lodis rolled to his right enough to come with inches of nearly getting his throat impaled by his own sword.

Chloe frowned slightly that her decapitation attempt failed as she flipped backwards from the force of the attack. She tucked her legs together and held her arms straight out forming her body into a cross a** she glided back down. She glanced down at her landing area and noticed she was about to collide with a Lodis soldier. She practically folded herself in half forward to bring her sword down into the unfortunate man. She released the blade and landed gracefully in crouch as her weapon pinned the man to the ground. She stood amidst the spraying blood from his jugular and pulled her weapon from him, holding it at her side in samurai fashion as she charged Kain once more, waiting for him to act before giving away what type of attack she would unleash next.

Kain shook his head as he slowly began to pull himself up by using his sword's handle as a crutch to do so. After standing up, he pulled his sword from out of the earth beneath him and blocked an oncoming Latium soldier's cheap excuse for a coup de grace with his sword while kicking him away. The Lodis knight spun around to a kneel as he cleaved the torso region of another Latium soldier who tried to flank him. Kain looked up from his kneeling position to see Chloe holding her blade in a way that he thought of as strange and quite odd.

Chloe sped up to a controllable but increased speed and drew in closer for her strike. Not many around her had seen this fighting style, she had learned it from the various war books and fighting manuals she studied when she wasn't training. She hadn't mastered the way that the warriors across the sea had, but she had her nice variation on it down pact. As she drew within strike range she dropped and slid in almost on her knees very low so as to strike in an upward crescent and slide past Kain so she could turn around and come in again if he was caught off guard.

Kain firmly planted himself where he stood and held his longsword in the right position as he defended against Chloe's attack. The blue armoured knight saw that Chloe had went past him after making her strike and then turned back to see a Latium soldier coming at him with an overhead strike. Kain barely managed to bring his longsword back up in order to start a deadlock with the opposing soldier. The Dragon of Lodis looked about his surroundings while holding his own in the deadlock against his most immediate foe.
He noticed that the other soldiers around them were still fighting but there were still fewer on each side. Kain caught wind of where his lance was located but realized that under his current circumstances that there was little hope of even trying to attempt getting it. All the while he also noticed that the Imperial knight was holding his own and killing off some Lodis soldiers in retaliation. Kain was beginning to think that the battle was turning grim for not only himself but for Lodis as a whole.

Chloe sat crouched for a moment watching her enemy as he locked blades with one of her fellow militia. She felt a slight rumble in the ground, her senses from her beast master training were trying to tell her something was coming this way. She dropped her ear to the ground and concentrated hard, trying to listen through the sounds of battle.
She could hear two feet pounding the earth hard, and strange grunting noises. She snapped her head to the east, settling on that as the source direction. Her eyes locked on to the beast approaching at an alarming rate... it was a beast she had only read about, never tangled with. It was an....
"OGRE!!!!!"
the cry came out before she could even finish her thought. It had trampled down a few Latium men and was beginning to munch on another. She was just about to accuse Lodis of summoning the Ogre, when it turned and snapped one of their men in half as well. An alarm sounded from within Latium's walls, it was the beast alarm, it would summon the city's best tamers and beast masters, but most were already out in the field; except for one.
Maya's ears rung with the beast alarm. "Karyn, stay here. I'll be back. Another beast is near by, you know the drill." Her sister half-heartedly ran over the escape plan as Maya disrobed from her elegant dress and slid into her battle armor. She grabbed her sword and rushed from the house heading towards the main gates. Her vision brought her the image of the ogre, and she nearly stopped in her tracks. Latium hasn't seen ogre's since before the last time they saw war... could the two possibly be related?
She paused at the gates, the other beast tamers had stopped fighting the Lodis unit and had formed a circle around the ogre keeping it at bay, but just barely. Whips cracked at it, followed by prodding staves and pole-arms. It responded with deep growls and grunts. Maya rushed over and stood just a few feet out from the circle trying to think of the best strategy to take the beast down, as there was no known way to tame an ogre without magic.
Chloe ran over and joined Maya. "What do you think? double strike at the neck? Or would that be too dangerous." She was very uncertain of how to deal with the situation.

Kain knocked away the Latium soldier's sword but decided not to run him through as he too felt the pressence of something strange coming near them. He took this opportunity to go and grab his lance. After doing so, the blue armoured knight met up with his troops and ordered, "We'll have to work together with Latium if we are to survive against this monster. I know it seems contrary but if you wish to fight another day then you will cooporate."
The remaining Lodis soldiers were in a small group near the Latium militia and was trying to maintain composer against the legendary beast before them. Kain, himself, walked up beside the katana wielding woman and asked, "What do you suggest we do?", as he switched from his longsword to his lance.

Maya sighed at her two questioners. "I suggest we kill it, as quickly as possible... The whips will hold it at bay for now, you go for the neck with your lance, you go in for it's right leg, and I'll split it from belly to gullet.... anymore questions?"
Maya's entire personality had changed, almost as if she was possessed by something. As she spoke the sky began to grow dark, a faint glow of the sun in the distance gave it a purple color. The earth trembled once more, this time far more violently than anything it's inhabitants had felt ever before.
The ogre looked to the sky quizzically and Maya saw that as her opportunity to strike and rushed in motioning for the other two to do the same.
Chloe followed crossing paths with Maya twice before coming in for her strike just below the left knee.

Kain nodded and begun his attack by gaining momentum from a running start. He then leaped high into the air, more so than any normal man could ever hope to accomplish especially while wearing armour, and aim the point of his lance right for the legendary monster's windpipe.
