So after about a month's delay, my copy of MoonPhase vol 2 finally arrived. Vol 3 arrived with it, and thus the series is half-way released.

Much to my delight, SHAFT did go back and finish animating the series, (particularly, the fights against Kinkel) and it is beautiful. They're not quite as awe-inspiring as the battles in Negima, but miles above the inomplete chop-and-paste of random still frames with the sound of fighting that I'd watched in the fansubs of the TV-aired episodes. And damn that VIP hospital room was gaudy!

Funimation's dub is a bit funnier than the original script, but Chiwa Saito just can't be beat for cuteness, and I still like the Japanese voice for Haiji better. Final comment: isn't Haiji/Akuda male? The character profiles on the DVD use masculine pronouns, but in the dub they keep using feminine ones.
