I think I know why Sephiroth goes evil when he finds out all that stuff in the Shinra Mansion.....

I think it's because he was a little bit weak-willed.

Wait!
I'm not saying this is a problem!

What I mean is, he read all that stuff, and just kinda snapped. It'd be like if you were living a good life, and all of a sudden, you find out you aren't who you thought you are, in any way. What'd you do? I know I'd do some pretty evil stuff to everyone who was ever cruel to me, but that's besides the point. What I'm saying is, if Sephiroth had never gone to Nibelhelm, and never gone into the Shinra Mansion, he'd never have had to die at the end of FFVII!

Also, I think I know why he's obsessed with this "merging with the planet" buisness.
My theory is that Sephiroth and Aeris are two seperate souls/beings that originated as one soul/being. Sephiroth is trying to "merge with the planet" because he knows deep down inside something's missing, but dosen't know how to fix it. This is also why he kills Aeris, because they originated from the same soul/being, when she "returns to the planet", it means they'll eventually unify back into one soul/being. This also explains why they have such similar hairstyles!

Speaking of which, is there anyone here interisted in helping out my FFVII roleplay bar? I still need a lot of people to be FFVII characters..... sweatdrop

i kind of like the idea of a post, and i really think you're onto something about aeris and sephiroth... but why don't we use both FFVII characters and our own made up characters to... you know, make it interesting... maybe add a little more variety to the RP?

Sephiroth thought that humans had killed his mother, an ancient. The truth is wierder than that though. Jenova wasn't an ancient, she was an alien that found the ancients and gave them a disease on accident.

yes. for those who havent played FFVII in awhile and dont know about this, if your at the end of the game go to the town on the ice continent, and go to Aeris's house and watch the videos. For some reason i like to watch them over and over.

I think Sephiroth has been messed up since he was a kid. He was born as an experiment and he never knew anything about his parent other than one name...which didn't even happen to be true.....

I guess it makes sense. Although it does sound like crap but so do alot of my believes. It could be that Sephy is in a way related to her but I'm having difficulty understanding why he killed her. I'm a slow learner...please excuse my slowness.

I like your theroy, and it shows you put a lot of thought into the subject: however my opinion is different. Aeris, being Gast's daughter, was probally viewed as his compitition. It was for her that he died after all, and it was only Gast who had shown Sephiroth kindness durring his childhood. And because she was Zack's girlfriend, she was also cometition there because Zack was his only friend. And lastly, I don't think it was alltogether his idea to kill her. More than likely Jenova had prodded his mind and took advantage of these emotions in order to be rid of her.

But when you look at him he does not look that evil and I really don't think its his fault for becoming evil. I mean it was the stuff he read that made him that way. Does anyone else think there could be a LITTLE, TINY bit of good left in him? (This is not a reply to any above post...just my thoughts.)

i think it's because humans wrote the books, those human beings were flawed and wrote the wrong info... i mean- Sephiroth was like that because he thought Jenova was a cetra- that was pretty much the basis for the 'traitor' theory.

Quote:

if Hojo never existed... or if Shinra never existed...
and Sephiroth comes back, so we're okay smile plus- if it hadn't happened the game would have been different and Sephiroth wouldn't be so... Sephiroth-god-ish

My theory is that Sephiroth and Aeris are two seperate souls/beings that originated as one soul/being.

read another theory, that it's Jenova... and jenova is a virus that wants to infect the planet. that's why.

Quote:

doubt it was an accident.

Quote:
and jenova wasn't even his mother...

yeah, why didn't Vincent tell Sephiroth... it might have saved peoples lives... then again, he probably wouldn't care much.

Quote:

i think Sephiroth might have known Hojo was his father- some part of the game made me think that, but i don't remember which part.

Quote:
but I'm having difficulty understanding why he killed her. I'm a slow learner

because she tried to save the world, stop him from becoming a God.

Quote:
I really don't think its his fault for becoming evil.

it's partially his fault, he had a choice, but you can't blame him- even if he had a choice he might as well not have... the mind can't fight things like that.

it's Hojo's fault though... god, Hojo's laugh is creepy {DC}

Quote:

No. Sephiroth is nothing more then a mass of hatred now... but- earlier, Vincent might have been able to save him if he had said something about Lucrecia.
