It was quiet and the moon hung high in the sky; overlooking the Kusini lands and iluminating the ground below. Jini played below a giant tree, pretending that the shadows it cast were the claws of a terrifying and horrible creature only she could thwart.

She'd spent the first half of the night attempting to sleep but, it was too no avail. On that particular night, the cub was far too restless to lay with her eyes closed and wait in hopes that the sandman might find her. Her imagination was far too distracting.

"Take that!" she growled visciously and raced around beneath the tree, pouncing and clawing at the shadows that moved according to where the wind blew.

Sawa slunk through the trees in a slow, careful pace. His eyes were partly the only things you could see of him in such dark, seeing as they were so bright. "Inside out... upside down..." He was mumbling in a sing-song voice, still moving up and around trees, under high roots and through strange bushes. He had gotten himself lost on his way home from adventuring, and knew very well this was not the right way to go. But where else could he go? "Twisting beside myself.... stop that now.. . .. .. You and I were never meant to meet.." His singing had died down to a whisper and suddenly stopped as he heard noise ahead.

His brow furrowed as he crept forward, his body skin and bones and no cub fat on it. It wasn't that he was malnurished, eating just made him natious.

Jini may have liked to think of herself as a mighty hunter; immortal and free of harm no matter the foe. Unfortunately, this just wasn't so. In fact, if Sawa had been a hungry predator the excitable little cub wouldn't have stood a chance.

She was completely oblivious to his approach and continued her little game unhindered.

"I wouldn't come any closer if I was you," the cub flashed her teeth threateningly at a nearby shadow and glued herself to the ground. She skittered this way and that, emitting a pathetic ferocious growl every now and then.

He squeaked suddenly as she 'found him out' and stopped just like she wanted. "Please don't harm me... I won't come any close then.." His voice was soft and calm, friendly even while afraid.

Jini had been in the middle of a particularly mock-angry pounce when the other cub made his appearance known. Startled, she strained her eyes in the direction of his voice and slipped when her feet hit the ground.

Her side groaned in protest as she slowly stood up on shaking legs and squinted into the darkness, "Whose there?"
