We in the States only got to see Doomsday a few days ago, and with Christmas and everything I haven't had a chance to put up this thread sooner.
I am officially in mourning for Rose Tyler (hence the maudlin sig). I will admit that I wasn't a huge fan of Rose at first, but she grew on me.
So...what did you lot think of Rose's departure? Are you fellow mourners or are you glad to see her go? Do you think that the Doctor would have said "I love you" if the message lasted a second longer?
Try not to spoil The Runaway Bride too badly for me in your discussion.

I study physics so I am a young physicist biggrin
Medicine is called Medical SCIENCE. And same with Forensics (The Doctor needs a forensic scientist! Take Grissom or Abby Yoh!)
I think she will have a less chavvy approach, too bad she wont get a Doctorate until the Doctor Returns her XD Which might be at the same place she gets taken from, who knows.

Assuming she gets returned, of course. The Doctor has a history of failing to get his friends back to where they came from. Think of Sarah Jane, dropped off in Aberdeen instead of Croydon, or Captain Jack, abandoned in the 2002nd Century. And we never know what happens to Ace...
Martha will certainly be different, whether she will be better or worse is to be determined. Being learned doesn't make someone less annoying. Just look at Adric. Mathematical genius, and consistently considered one of the most annoying companion. Or more recently, consider Adam Mitchell, the little git.

I was disappointed in that episode not because Rose was gone, but because they'd been telling us she was going to die, and then she didn't. I really wanted her to die because she was getting under my skin so much. But that's just my personal opinion, I have a bit of a bias because she reminds me of my dragon-lady ex-girlfriend. And yes, I'm being harsh about it. Everyone seems to love her so much, and I don't understand why. Oh well, I just hope she doesn't come back, that'd by cheap. I wish they'd killed her off properly to make sure she couldn't.
