User ImageIt was silent, as well as dawn. The sun rising into a darkened sky and turning it bright; all the while becoming all the more appropriate for a wandering female.

Naib, youthful and kind, was not going anywhere in particular. She was just getting out, freeing herself from the pups, her mate--everything. She was content with whatever had happened to her, don't be confused, but time to herself was always needed.

Her lean form sustained its shine; no amount of pups could possibly change it. Naib was an energetic girl, and wouldn't let something like that keep her from good health, unlike her mother. It was her goal, if one could call it that more then an obsession that Naib was not to turn out like Soul in any way. She wouldn't fall for her mother’s seduction, which always led to the destruction of males, nor would she fall for her mothers cries, which always led to her staying that much longer. Naib was free, just like her siblings, from the wrath of a moody b***h.

Last night, Naib had found comfort and security under the growth of a withering tree, its limbs sagging, giving her ample amount of protection. Beside her, was a lifted root, which carved to be a burrow long since left by its owner. If all else failed, her tiny form would scrunch into the hole and hide. She'd be safe for a while.

The gusts picked up down wind, and she could smell the aroma of deer, fish and sea. All three things she loved, and would soon miss. Eventually, and much, much sooner then she would expect, Naib would be heading back at full speed to her mate, her pups and her new home. But for now, she would awaken to the new day, with good hopes.

Green eyes browsed through the foliage of leaves, looking for passerby’s or stray foxes. She'd pick up anything worth eating, and chew it raw. Her stomach gurgled; she was just past due for a snack.

Sigrid barely noticed the dawn as it arrived in it's usual glorious display, she didn't notice much of the land's natural beauty these days, when it wa all she ever saw she grew weary of it. From the rebellious teen of not so long ago she had matured into a wolf who appeared far older than her few years, fur dishevelled but never losing it's distinct blue that eternally marked her as her father's daughter, her cold, youthful eyes were made more striking by the disarray of her physical state and the look in them was disconcerting. She considered herself little more than a hermit, wandering without aim or purpose, a rebel without a cause. She had no mate, no male she'd ever come across so far had struck her as experienced, strong or witty enough, her standards set incredibly high.

Like her sister, Sigrid had been hungry that morning but through some miracle of nature, had managed to catch a doe from a herd of deer she had come across. Such large meals were a rarity for her, her solitary nature making it incredibly hard to kill or catch anything much bigger than a fox.

She treated lands wherever she went as though they were her own territory, carrying herself with aggression etched into every line, her body language defensive and masculine. In fact, on first inspection, were it not for her scent, she could be mistaken for a slightly effeminate male. So it was with confidence she dragged her kill through the undergrowth, unaware that she moved towards where Naib stood. She didn't notice the other wolf until she was almost upon her, the scent of the doe's blood clouding her sense of smell. The moment she did notice the other female she gasped, snarled ferociously and dropped the doe at her feet, leaning her head possessively over it and snarling as loudly as she could.

"Mine!"

Naib had seen this coming, smelt it and dealt with it with extreme care. She visibly could make out a distinct feature that seemed all too familiar, but was not fully sure of herself, and her hungry thoughts and so tried to manage the situation that one would when encountering a stranger.

A stranger…with meat; and nice, juicy meat that sagged under the weight of its own plump muscles. Naib was beside herself as the blood became something tangible. She licked her lips, drooled from her jowls and snarled with little aggression behind its meaning. Deep within the pit of the burrow, Naib could see the deer between splayed four limbs, and a tail. With good luck, she could tare away with a few bits of doe, seeing that this wolf was obviously not sturdy enough to keep up her own weight against Naibs fit form.

But it was obvious that Naib couldn't take this meat away from this--female. She was too thin in appearance, and to steal some would be dishonorable. Of course in life it wasn't about honor at times, but about living and doing what you could to survive. This is what this other female was doing to survive; protecting her kill. Not Naibs, and as the female began to gradually slip from her covering, she felt a dangerous amount of familiararty to this wolf. She crept away from the uprooted branch, and made her way a few feet from the body of both the dead deer, and the female wolf.

It was there that the signs she had felt, and seen, were all to meaningful. She gasped, softly, but was unsure of herself and her assumptions. With the other wolfs back still facing to her, Naib whispered gently, as if in bewildered disapproval.

'Oh...dear.'
