Ok, I know this seems random, but does anyone remember the name of the light bomb thingie Shikamaru used against Tayuya? It's a little round light brown ball, that has a black kanji on it, and it emitted a flash of white light?

It's a flash bomb. It's in my Naruto game and it dawned on me then that that's what it was.

It's name is the japanese word for 'light' I know that, but what the word actually is I don't know.

Uh, I must've skipped that episode. But if it's what the nice person above me *waves* says, I think I'd be Hikaru. ... Or maybe its Hikiri..... I dunno, but it starts with a 'H' .... ><

I know light is said raito in japanese though... but I really don't remember the name, I saw those ep. a while ago domokun

Well they mean the Japanese word for light, not the English word spoken with a Japanese accent.

It's a flash bomb, as stated earlier. It's not unique to Naruto. It's a standard issue ninja thing, just like kunai and shuriken and smoke bombs. In fact, it's pretty standard issue for rogues in general.
Raito is not Japanese for light. It's the word light spoken with a Japanese accent. Hikari is an acceptable term for light. Hikaru is a unisex name and also means 'to shine/glitter/etc.'.
Are we good?
